Helena Bonham Carter to Film HBP Scenes in Spring, 2008

While not yet officially confirmed by Warner Brothers, representatives for actress Helena Bonham Carter have said the actress would be reprising her role as Bellatrix Lestrange for the upcoming “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” film. In an article with The Independent, they discuss the actress, who is currently expecting her second child with husband, director Tim Burton. The reps say that that Helena Carter Bonham would be back filming the sixth Harry Potter film next year, with the article noting “her publicist said yesterday that Bonham Carter was not due back on the Potter set until the spring.”



Let me say, YAY! I was pretty sure she would be back, but it's nice to have it confirmed because really there's no other actress that could play Bellatrix for me now, and I needed to see the true Bellatrix on screen for the scenes with Cissy. Now, if they'd only announce who will be playing Narcissa I can commence squeeing like a fangirl.

And I'm glad she'll be back too. Spinner's End is one of my favorite parts of HBP, and I refused to entertain the idea of it being cut from the movie, which meant that Carter had to be back for my world to make sense, lol

lol, I don't remember a lot of the details of the books off the top of my head either. When people were complaining about tons of stuff being cut from OoTP I was like "Oh, I forgot about that ... and that ... and that" lol. I remember Spinner's End though because of the blackcest! I wrote my first blackcest piece after reading that chapter. I'll probably reread HBP before the movie comes out though (I did it with GoF too, but not OoTP because I hated that damn book) so I will probably be complaining about the cut stuff for the HBP film!

:D The only Pansy moments I remember from the books are her being a one-dimensional bitch (ex. The DH hand Potter over scene) or appendage to Draco, so like with most of the Death Eaters/Slytherin's I like to go with the version in my head.

What were some books where Pansy had lines? I honestly can't remember anything about her other than the scene in DH because I just read it. I basically just have this vague impression in my head that she was a mean bitch, but I can't remember any specifics of things that she said or did.

That's what AU is for. I was actually considering a rewrite of that scene for Absolute Gravity, where after a break the story would have picked up with HG and PP in that scene in the Great Hall only, because of Hermione, someone else would have stood up and said what Pansy did in the book, and Pansy would have chosen to stay behind, but I decided to go with a different less complicated and more satisfying (I think) ending without any jumps in time.

For the most part I generally like "school years" fic better, though there are exceptions of course.

lol, well I don't think it's like really blackcest, more like subtext that can be converted to blackcest if you want to (which I did, lol). Basically, Spinner's End is the part of the book where Cissy and Bella go to meet Snape, so that Narcissa can ask Snape to keep an eye on Draco and protect him during the school year. Bellatrix doesn't trust Snape and thinks it's a bad idea to go to him, but she's follows Narcissa dutifully, and stands by her the whole time, and though she's snippy, the scene was probably the only one in the entire series that portrayed Bellatrix having real emotions. I was just touched that she genuinely cared about Narcissa, and it made me a Bella/Cissy fan.

I remember mostly in Goblet of Fire she taunted hermione a few times, but apparently in the third one she was helping to taunt harry and them when the hypogriff(I just know that I misspelled that...) was about (or so she was in the movie *shrugs*)

at least the first 4 if you don't skip through to the dialogue like I'm apt to do when I'm bored with something *shrugs*

They were my Bellatrix is a crazy, mean bitch, but is sweet and loves her sister fics. Before HBP I couldn't write Bella cause she just seemed evil, but that little bit of humanity in her affection for Narcissa made me a Bella/Cissy shipper.

It's been so long since I've read the first three that that's probably why I only have a vague impression of her. But basically I know the mold that she's cut from. I'm gonna stick with my bitchy Pansy (with layers) because I like that version more ;)

well, I just hope she's kicka ss enough to shake off nitpickers who insist the movies should be exactly like the games
(which means RE4 should make them happy at least about parts of the first movie in the Queen's chamber, as in the game they have that area in there - lasers and everything, it's so cool) (I can't help plugging the game *sigh*)

I don't play video games, so the lack of continuity between the games and the movies doesn't bother me. My friend is big time into them though, and is still bemoaning that there is no Ada Wong to be found in the film franchise.

I wish Jill was back for this one too. I really like the character, Sienna Guillory was smoking hot, and the character was ALIVE at the end of the last movie. If they've killed her off screen I'm gonna be hella pissed.

Is K-Mart the Ashanti character? Cause if so I doubt I'll slash them because Ashanti bugs the shit out of me. If they'd gotten like Alicia Keys to play the role, and I would have been all over that and Claire/Alice/K-Mart threesomes and everything, but Ashanti? Hells to the no.

I'll probably get a Claire/Alice fic or two out of this, but yeah, I miss Jill.

'tis a shame the only slash pairing you could get out of her for RE4 where she looks good enough to stalk is Ada/Ashley (who happens to be one whiny ass brat who is fun to kill in various ways)

only game I've played is RE4, but the books are really good, definitely worth checking out when you have the time
though if you're like me after reading City of the dead and Nemesis you'll try and work out the timeline and figure out how Jill and Carlos never saw Leon and Claire and Ada even though everybody ran around the police station for a while - it is mind boggling and my mind is officially boggled by it)
(as well as other questions that have no answers, like why people in hollywood can jump off a ledge and land perfectly into a helicopter waiting below without being pureed)

Ada is... amazing, really

I've watched Brandon play the game, and saw a little video segment with Ada where she's found hiding in an old house and gets into a fight with the guy that's trying to rescue Ashley and then she jumps out the window. She was pretty cool and after that I thought that I'd like to see her in the movie.

It's funny that you complain about Ashley because Brandon's constantly bitching about having to save her dumb ass, only for her to be kidnapped again, so he has to save her AGAIN and AGAIN.

I didn't even know there were books. Do the books take place in the movie-verse? Cause if they're saying that Leon, Carlos, Claire and Ada were running around the police station where we first meet Jill (teh sexy introduction) then I can see how you're mind would be boggled!

movie books are by... Keith R A decandido I think, and the game books are by SD Perry
it's like getting all the fun of the early games (plus two original novels) wihtout the crappy camera angles and char controls ^_^
plus I just loves the char of rebecca.. she's so cute! ^_^

my fave game book is the first one, The Umbrella Conspiracy, though the book set before that one kinda fucked up the timeline

There was a rumor going around for a while that she had been cast. They even announced it on Mugglenet and like MTV I think. But then a few days later Watts people released a statement saying that she hadn't signed on for the role. *sigh*

I'd heard it too and actually started to get really excited about the idea when Watts people made the announcement.
