Leighton took a deep breath as she came to a stop in front of the door to Blake’s apartment. Releasing the breath slowly she ran her hands over her skirt, tucked a strand of dark hair behind her ear and then raised her fist to knock on the door, smiling as it opened a second later.
“Hey,” Blake said smiling widely standing in the middle of the doorway, her eyes closing momentarily a second later as she shook her head and moved the side giving Leighton enough room to actually walk into the apartment. “Sorry. Beach bum, no manners,” Blake muttered self-depreciatingly as Leighton moved into the apartment.
Leighton looked over her shoulder smiling. “I guess I can find it somewhere in my heart to forgive you,” she responded as Blake closed the door and moved further into the apartment and towards the kitchen.
“Have you eaten?” Blake asked turning around to face Leighton, walking backwards, bouncing slightly as she went, watching the brunette as she continued towards the other room. “I was hungry so I made some Saffron Barley Risotto with Asparagus. You don’t have to eat it, it probably sucks, but if you’re hungry,” Blake continued shrugging her shoulders.
“Actually I’m starving,” Leighton responded following Blake into the kitchen and hopping onto the counter as the blonde moved towards the stove and opened up a cabinet door. “I was going to ask if you wanted to order in, but a home cooked meal sounds nice. It will be edible right?”
“Oh, ha ha, very funny,” Blake responded turning around and mock glaring at the brunette before she went back to what she had been doing before. “I was just trying to be humble. I’m a very … okay chief,” Blake continued looking over her shoulder grinning. She wasn’t Nigella Lawson but she was pretty good. “Jocks can cook.”
“I didn’t mean to upset your delicate culinary ego,” Leighton replied laughing as Blake pulled some plates out from a cabinet by the stove. “Honestly, I have full confidence in your abilities. Anyone that just happens to have Saffron Barley Risotto and AsparagusI lying around deserves the benefit of the doubt. I can’t wait to tuck in, really. My mouth is watering already. The tantalizing aroma is …”
“Okay Miss Overkill, that’ll do, thank you very much,” Blake replied reaching for a large serving spoon.
“I saw that movie during a 70s Japanese Cinema retrospective,” Leighton responded sarcastically grinning as Blake began to dish out their dinner.
“Was there naked sword fighting?” Blake asked gamely, bringing the plates over to the table as Leighton hopped down from the counter.
“Well, it was a Pinky film,” Leighton responded in a mocking haughty tone, arching an eyebrow as if to insinuate that even asking a question like that was unforgivable.
“Channeling Blair, channeling Blair,” Blake accused pointing a finger a Leighton, shivering in mock horror. “You mean the imaginary movie that you just made up was a Pinky film?” Blake asked gallantly pulling out a chair for Leighton.
“Yeah huh,” Leighton responded smiling at Blake before taking a seat.
“Would you like some wine?” Blake asked. Neither of them was old enough to legally drink it, but she wouldn’t let that stop her (after all it hadn’t stopped her mom from buying it for her as a housewarming gift).
“Red?” Leighton asked.
“Of course,” Blake responded smiling.
“Lovely, yes please,” Leighton replied, laughing as Blake gave an exaggerated bow and twirling wave of her hand before moving into the living room and over to a very nice cabinet, her eyes lingering on the blonde as she bent over to retrieve the wine bottle.
“Time to test my corkscrew removal skills,” Blake declared as she moved back into the kitchen, opening up the utensil drawer.
Leighton placed her elbow on the table and then rested her chin on her fist staring over at Blake studiously, laughing a moment later as Blake frowned at her.
“Ah, success,” Blake declared a minute later as she managed to remove the cork without ripping it into threads or pushing it down into the bottle.
Blake grabbed to wine glasses and then made her way back over to the table where Leighton slowly clapping and giving her the ‘you-done-good’ nod.
Blake rolled her eyes and smirked as she poured the crimson liquid into their glasses.
“Okay, now for the real test,” she said sitting down opposite Leighton and picking up her fork. “Be gentle, it’s our first time and if you’re too rough I may never cook for you again.”
“I’ll be as tender as the fluttering wings of a butterfly,” Leighton responded grinning before placing her fork in her mouth. “Oh wow,” she declared a moment later after she swallowed. “This is good!”
“You’re such a brat,” Blake declared though the pleased smile on her face conveyed the exact opposite sentiment.
---
“What are you doing?” Leighton asked over an hour later as Blake moved over to her stereo system and began to leaf through the CDs on the case beside it.
“You’ll see,” Blake replied mysteriously smiling briefly at Leighton before returning to her perusal of the CDs. “Take a seat on the couch,” she continued still turned away from Leighton, “I’ll be right over.”
“This is a new addition,” Leighton said as she moved over to the plush chocolate couch in the living room. She had only been to Blake’s place once before during a little house-warming bash the blonde had thrown for the cast, and Blake had hardly had any furniture at the time.
“Yeah, I actually made it to IKEA,” Blake responded laughing. “Do you like it? I love the colour, it’s I don’t know, really inviting or something. I lie down on that thing and it’s like the pillows just suck all stress right out of my body and envelope me in cozy.”
Leighton laughed. “You should work in their PR department. I’m tempted to go buy one myself. Being enveloped in cozy sounds really nice.”
“You know what else is nice?” Blake asked turning around to face the brunette, a small remote control in her hand.
“What?” Leighton asked playfully.
“Wine and Chet Baker,” Blake responded moving back into the kitchen to grab her wine glass and the bottle of red. Leighton had her glass with her.
“Is that so?” Leighton asked as Blake moved towards her, resting the bottle on the table before squeezing in beside her on the couch.
She had sat down in the middle of it and knew that she probably should have shifted further to one side when Blake approached to sit down, but she didn’t. It was a cheap trick, but she wanted to be wedged together on the couch with Blake. She liked being in close physical proximity to the blonde far too much.
“It’s a universal truth,” Blake responded grinning over at Leighton. “You’ve never heard of Chet Baker before have you?” she asked knowingly.
“I’ve heard of him,” Leighton said, “which isn’t to say that I’ve actually heard anything by him.”
“I see,” Blake said nodding seriously. “Well, friends don’t let friends go without Chet Baker, so prepare to be schooled.”
Leighton smiled, being schooled by Blake sounded like the best thing ever.
---
Blake reached up from her seat on the floor resting her hand on Leighton’s thigh.
“Come down here,” Blake said tilting her head back so that she could see Leighton who was still curled up on the couch. “Chet Baker should be listened to on the rug,” she continued moving the empty wine bottle from beside her and placing it on the table so Leighton would have a place to sit.
“I think you’re making these Chet Baker rules up as you go,” Leighton said though she was uncurling herself even as she spoke, and by the time she finished she had sunk down onto the floor beside Blake, her head resting on the seat of the couch beside the blonde’s.
“I love this one,” Blake said, her voice a purr as a slow smile spread across her face. “My Funny Valentine, it’s a live performance from
“While it’s snowing?” Leighton asked holding Blake’s gaze.
“Yeah,” Blake responded grinning, losing herself in the rich chocolate colour of Leighton’s eyes. Leighton had the dreamiest eyes; she’d thought so since they had met. She would just find herself staring into sometimes and she would forget what she was saying in the middle of a sentence. “Stupid September,” she continued her voice softer than it had been before and a little bit distracted.
“September sucks,” Leighton agreed her voice barely a whisper as they continued to look into each others eyes.
“It’s the worse,” Blake replied feeling a familiar tingle traveling through her body. Leighton had very nice lips as well. Leighton had very nice everything.
“What’s this one?” Leighton asked as the song changed, her eyes trained on Blake’s lips as she licked them, her tongue swiping over her bottom lip in one of the most tantalizing and erotic displays Leighton had ever seen.
“Time After Time,” Blake responded feeling herself swaying forward, absolutely convinced that she was going to try and kiss Leighton if she didn’t do something fast. “Let’s dance.”
“What?” Leighton asked blinking, the question snapping her out of the revere she had fallen into staring into Blake’s eyes.
“Let’s dance,” Blake repeated smiling, standing up quickly and holding her hand out to the brunette.
Leighton blinked and then smiled, reaching out to grasp Blake’s hand, laughing as the blonde helped pull her up, her breath catching a moment later as she fell into Blake’s body and felt the blonde wrap her arms around her.
“I’ll lead,” Blake said softly as Leighton relaxed into her arms.
---
Leighton turned her head to the side, her face pressing into Blake’s neck a little because of how she had been resting her head on the blonde’s shoulder.
“I know this one,” Leighton said quietly, her breath tickling the skin of Blake’s neck. “My mother used to play this song.”
“Let’s Get Lost,” Blake breathed out as they continued to sway in each others arms.
Leighton nodded against her shoulder.
“Let’s get lost, lost in each other’s arms,” Leighton began to sing softly, her voice hesitant but smooth.
Blake wrapped her arms around her a little more encouragingly and felt Leighton exhale.
“Let’s get lost, let them send out alarms,” Leighton continued to sing in time with Chet Baker, her voice stronger as Blake stroked her lower back lazily.
“And though they’ll think us rude, let’s get lost in this crazy mood,” she went on lifting her head off of Blake’s shoulder, looking up into the blonde’s face.
“Let’s …” Leighton began.
Blake leaned forward pressing her lips against Leighton’s swallowing whatever the brunette was going to sing next, her hands moving across the small of Leighton’s back as the brunette opened up her mouth to her.
Blake sighed and slipped her tongue between Leighton’s lips, tasting her mouth for the first time, relief flooding through her body.
She thought that Leighton liked her too, the way the brunette had been looking at her before they started to dance, the way she smiled at her and always laughed at her jokes, and that weird energy that passed between them in moments of silence gave her hope. She hadn’t been sure though, and they got along so well and had to work together and she hadn’t wanted to risk their personal or professional relationship.
But Leighton was just so damn lovely she couldn’t help herself when the brunette looked up into her face like that, her eyes so wide and brown, and her lips slightly parted as she swayed in her arms.
“Thank god,” Leighton whispered as they pulled apart for air long moments later. “I’ve wanted to do that since … since we met,” she continued a little breathlessly, a smile tugging at her lips.
“Me too,” Blake replied grinning at the brunette before leaning forward and kissing her again. “I was worried that …”
“You didn’t feel the same,” Leighton responded pushing up on her toes to kiss the taller blonde. “This was worth the wait,” Leighton said a little dreamily, Blake’s scent and warmth making her head spin.
“Totally,” Blake whispered against Leighton’s lips before kissing her soundly again. “I told you, wine and Chet Baker …”
“Is definitely nice,” Leighton interjected smiling, before pulling Blake’s head down towards her once more.

Date: 2007-10-08 05:44 am (UTC)You know, this is the first RPFS that I have read, ever. But it was Blake/Leighton (and yours!),so I thought it'd be nice to give it a shot. (also it seems that I'm more around your journal than in mine :p )I always have liked more the fiction with characters because you can know them better, more intimately and feel more related, than with the celebrities. You just can't trust 100% the information you have of them. But damn, this two have big, I mean, HUGE chemistry and so much "suspicious" things (a stare, a touch) around them already that's really hard not to ship them.
Great fic, I really enjoyed it.
ps: I think that easily we can start the "Obssesed much? A Bleighton/Waldsen fan club" don't you think ? LoL

So true. Honestly, I think given Leighton's responses on TRL she ships them too, lol

Oh totally, these girls have got a big following. Bleighton/Waldsen 4EVAH!

Date: 2007-10-08 05:56 am (UTC)Some of the things I loved most were: Blake accusing Leighton of channeling Blair; Blake schooling Leighton in Chet Baker; the Chet Baker rules; Leighton softly singing along; the kiss. Especially the second kiss, the detail of Leighton rising up on her tiptoes to kiss Blake was so perfect.
I'll never tire of this pairing.

Date: 2007-10-08 06:56 am (UTC)I like how you incorporated everything that was mentioned: Chet Baker, and the rug. Plus Blake referring to herself as a jock was just awesomeness.

Date: 2007-10-09 11:12 pm (UTC)I know exactly how you feel! I think it's actually becoming kinda ridiculous how obsessed I am with both Bleighton and Waldsen.
Plus Blake is too hot for words, so that's reason enough to watch.
Blake's hotness is the reason I started watching. Thank god, Blake is so crazy good looking for else I would have missed out on the awesome that is Gossip Girl.
Thanks for responding, I'm glad that you enjoyed it :D

and the image of them dancing to Chet Baker was awesome.
So romantic *swoons* I just love everything about them together.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, even if it was RPFS :D

Date: 2007-10-09 11:02 pm (UTC)Because, you'll be pleased to note, I spent all day Chuck Bassing around the internet (read: lurking) brushing up on the GG. I read the recaps at TWoP and got the pilot on the computer. Now I just have to figure out how to make it start.
Also, I was going to ask if you had seen those slashtastic pics of Leighton/Blake at the afterparty where they're making some awesome eyecontact, only to find that one is your icon. I love it.
Also, I wonder if either of your stories has any sequelishness afoot?

You will not be disappointed, the show is awesome and has been getting better every episode. The pilot is the slowest episode, but after that it keeps on going up. The latest episode was absolutely made of win.
Have you got the pilot to play? What format is it in?
Also, I was going to ask if you had seen those slashtastic pics of Leighton/Blake at the afterparty where they're making some awesome eyecontact, only to find that one is your icon. I love it.
Those pictures started the Bleighton obsession for me. At first I was ogling Blake and then I came to those and I was like "Holy Gay Batman!" and the embers began to light. And then after the TRL interview of girl-love I was a goner.
Also, I wonder if either of your stories has any sequelishness afoot?
Perhaps. If not sequels definitely more GG fic at least. Though I do kind of like the idea of trying to fit a sequel to "real talk" in along with series canon (which would be fairly easy in the context of the girl-love in the latest ep)

Date: 2007-10-10 01:12 pm (UTC)Yeah, I got to the second and third last night. Each slashier than the last:)
"Those pictures started the Bleighton obsession for me. At first I was ogling Blake and then I came to those and I was like "Holy Gay Batman!" and the embers began to light. And then after the TRL interview of girl-love I was a goner."
--Seriously! I was kind of blithely tripping through the pictures and Is aw that and I was like, Hold the phone! That was som major, major eye screwing. I mean, I have good friends that I like a whole lot and I can't think of one I've ever looked at like that :) The TRL interview was very couple-y. Absolutely. I'm surprised Blake didn't just put her arm around Leighton and let it go from there.
I also totally agree that in the Bleighton, Serena would kind of be the slightly more butch one. I mean, hello, girl can rock a dress. Or a pantsuit. But she's got that California surfer girl that can probably take you down in like, darts or basketball or whatever going on.
I need to go find an icon for this pair. Or the Waldsen.

Date: 2007-10-12 12:03 am (UTC)I know! I love that it just gets gayer and gayer. It makes me happy (and a little sad because I know the trend can't continue. If it did, Serena and Blair would be having sex like two episodes from now. Hopefully they can maintain the current level of gay though.)
That was som major, major eye screwing. I mean, I have good friends that I like a whole lot and I can't think of one I've ever looked at like that :)
I KNOW! Friends that are completely platonic just don't look at each other that way. I have never stared longingly into the eyes of one of my friends.
I'm surprised Blake didn't just put her arm around Leighton and let it go from there.
I like to think that she did when they were playing the music videos, lol
But she's got that California surfer girl that can probably take you down in like, darts or basketball or whatever going on.
I know. I love that femjock vibe. It's ridiculously not. That's such a perfect description of Blake.

Dude. So true. I get weirded out if I even think about looking longingly at a friend.

Who are we to say she didn't? :)
---I know. I love that femjock vibe. It's ridiculously not. That's such a perfect description of Blake.---
She's just so alive and magnetic. I do have to say in the books she is a lot more oblivious and bumbling. Which I found kind of charming, but I like the show's take on her too. I do hope we'll see her being more of a bad girl. Flashbacks?

Date: 2007-10-10 06:25 am (UTC)Someone mentioned Mandy/Gaby, and yes, I didn't think much could top their offscreen chemistry/flirtyness, but Bleighton are certainly giving them a sprint for their money.
Speaking of Mabrielle, if you want to see the Eye!Sex of their Teen Choice Awards promo spot, let me know, I have it saved and I can upload it to Sendspace for you. That, and their Sundance video from January, where they're even MORE slashy lol

I really enjoy how you sort of incorporated Blake's kind of ADD type energy that was quite apparent in the TRL interview here
I love that energy about Blake, it's so cute and hot. She's kind of like a sugared up 8 year old or something. *sqees*
