Niki! *hugs* I missed you girl, glad to have you back. I hope you actually get something to do next week. Thanks for bringing Uhura along with you, that was awesome. Also, Niki said Uhura was family, so how is she related to Micah? She's not his grandma cause we met D.Ls mom and was not a fan of Niki's. Aunt maybe?  Also what's up with NIki running to the company for a cure?  I thought she pretty much had her Jessica problems under control, the two seemed almost merged at the end of last season and it's been four months since then.  So that leaves the superstrength, and if she doesn't want that I'll take it! *raises hand*

D.L is dead! Yay! Seriously, the dude was dead weight, and it'll make shipping Niki with everyone (including herself) so much easier.

Seriously writers, you brought Candace back for that?!? And you couldn't even get Missy for it? I mean, I hear she's got a gig on Reaper now, but seriously, you couldn't get her to come back for like an afternoon of shooting? For shame. The only good thing about this Candace appearance was her insinuating that Sylar would want to sleep with himself. That was pretty awesome.

West is a fucking douchebag. What he did to Claire in science class just killed any chance there was on me someday liking the character. He's an arrogant asshole. This love affair storyline is going to be so painful to sit through (what is this Eureka or something!?! *thinks of Jo/Zane and Zoe/Hair!boy and shudders*). Why couldn't Claire just become friends with Dana Davis and then they could bond over having powers therefore negating creepy, manipulative assface West needing to exist?

Also, the fact that he's going to be responsible for turning Claire against HRG is NOT doing him any favors.

I liked that Maya used her powers on purpose this episode, but I have to say, pretty as Dania is this storyline is boring the hell out of me. Get them to America ASAP writers, and while your at it explain Maya and Alejandro's powers a bit. Being all wishy washy with Niki's ability last year (still) did you no favors, don't do the same thing with Maya.

The Japan storyline is also kind of boring me. I'm kind of 'meh' on the Mohinder/Parkman storyline, and the bad Irish brogues need to go (I miss the Petrelli's together like whoa).

I'm feeling like they've spread themselves really thin with all of these cast members right now. I felt like I got about 5 minutes with each character this week, and it's making it hard to get into the story lines. And next week they're going to add yet another character, the Dana Davis one, and I'm like "dudes, you can barely cover the characters you've got already!'. I don't know how they're going to do it, but they need to settle down a little bit with the story lines, maybe focus on two or three an episode so that it feels like something is happening instead of a couple minutes of filler here and there.

watching that and alison/stark made me want to stab random people...(grr)...that guy just bugs me period...i mean he practically ruins "the best years" for me...(ah charity shea thanks for existing so we'd know what the offspring of ashley scott and mandy muskgrave would look like)...but i digress...i kinda find the claire/ wes thing too pat especially considering he has the same powers her bio-dad has...and that scene was so "smallville"...(which i hate)...but i think it'll all be worth it to see him die, and that's all that really matters...

lol, Ed Quinn's ridiculous good looks keep me from hating on Stark too much. Eureka sucks at presenting any kind of romantic relationship though. I'm glad they got Deborah Farentino back for a few eps though, Beverly's insane hotness was what keep me going through the last couple of episodes.

I know. It's like "thanks for actually showing one of your established characters TWO EPISODES into the season! Jeebus. I always felt like Niki got kind of shafted last year, and not introducing the character until the second episode of these season and giving her such a lame re-introduction too worries me about the quality of her upcoming story line. I mean other than Ali's prettiness, seeing Uhura was the most exciting part of what Niki was up to. Ali deserves better! When they actually let her act last year she was phenomenal and my favorite part of the show.

And where was emo!Nathan?? I miss him!

I know! I want the Petrelli family back together being compelling and screwed up. Fuck this Ireland shit. Open the box and get back to New York, Peter. Bring the girl if you must, but get your ass back to your brother. And make him shave!

Right? Since the damn show started this season, I had a countdown for Ali coming back. Now, all they have to do is give her a storyline worth mentioning. Though, I did read they'll exploring her powers more (maybe part of why she's with The Company?) and working with The Company could give her a better storyline. Plus, she gets to meet up with Claire (*gasp* 2 females on screen together that AREN'T mother/daughter!) and the whole virus thing.

I love that the pictures seem to tell a story too. The first one is like "Why, hello Miss Van der Woodsen *sensuous smile*", in the second one Serena is totally like "I'm so glad I stopped by" and Blair is like "I know you are" and then Serena's like "come closer" and then the third one is Blair being all "I wish you didn't have to leave so soon. Call me?".

lol, so true. And yes, please. I'm through with the Ireland storyline. I was actually through with it the moment I heard though horrible accents, but I'm really, really, really over it now.

We already know who Peter is, I don't care about the box mystery, get him back to New York and end the pain.

And while the writers are at it, get Hiro out of Japan (which I'm also getting really bored of) and back to the future so that Sark, um, Kensei can show up and revel whatever his role is in the future (killer of the Golden Age heroes? I don't know, but I'm much more interested in finding that out then watching him play with cherry blossoms)

But my biggest gripe with this show in general is this - they have all these great characters and proceed to keep them seperated from each for as long as humanly possible, and then proceed *not* to mix up the character interaction. Do I have to wait until season *five* for Claire and Hiro to have a conversation, or Nathan and Mr. Bennett? That and this show is reaching Lost territory with its 'no female characters shall ever interact with each other..ever!'.

Seriously. What is with this trend with writer's thinking guys being assholes to their perspective love interest is anything resembling romantic? He's a stalkish, entitled douchebag and he gets *rewarded* for it!?! DUDE FANTASY!!!

Yes! I mean, Claire in High School being emo and hiding her gift. You did that, only she chose to revel her gift instead of being forced into it/spied one, Zach was a decent guy and a good friend instead of an arrogant douche, and their friendship was actually sweet instead of frustrating and in some ways OOC.

I thought they finally had dealt with that at the end of last season when everyone was gathered together, but apparently after that they were all like "well, so that happened ... yeah, uh, well I have this thing ... to do, so..." and just went home. The isolated storylines also make the plot blunder along at a glacial pace because the attention needs to be shifted to a different storyline every three minutes, where if they were on screen with each other we'd get a lot more of everyone.

Bothers me, so much! You have all the men working together and being all slashy and shit, and yet we can't even get female characters in the same room as each other. *tears out hair* I mean, with this show it can't be that they're scared of teh gay (like PKJ) or inappropriate shipping (hello incest pairing, and generational incest pairings, and rampant ho!yay).

Then again, that would require the writer knowing what to do with the female characters (which at least strongly in Niki's case) they don't seem to. Claire they're at least working with, although as covered before they're just regurgitating her story for last year and making it more annoying.

lol, they are hotter together. And it's less creepy because well, I have enough faith in Ali that you know she would never actually go there (unlike some people). I love the idea of Hayden having a girlcrush on her though, and Ali thinking that's the best ever and letting Hayden feel her up for fun. Best working relationship ever!

Um, I have no idea what the point is.. other than they're really draaagggiinngg to get to it. Three episodes of 'Typhoid Maya', 'The Whitest Samurai' and 'Peter's Lucky Charms' and I'm already *this* close to working my fast-forward button to get to the characters I actually give a damn about. Which is Niki who, apparently, is going to get as much screentime this year as she did last year, ie, not much at all.

I feel the exact same way. It's like 'dudes, I don't need a reintroduction, I already know who these characters are'! And the thing with Peter's memory is feeling really anti-climatic because I don't need to know what's in the box, I know who Peter is. I already know that Claire hates struggling to be a "regular girl" and wishes she could just be herself. GIVE HER SOMETHING TO DO! Give them all something to do. I'm sick of the hand shakes and how are you doing part of the party, turn on the music and break out the coolers and let's get this show on the road.

Great point. I hadn't really thought of that, but it's true. It just feels like everyone is kind of meandering around. I was fine with Peter (and the Petrelli's) being the central focus because he was the 'gateway character' into this new world. I was hoping that this year a different character would be the central focus. Except, like you said, it all feels scattered. If it becomes 'All About Peter' again, *then* I'll be pissed. With such a strong, large ensemble cast, they can afford to give someone else the spotlight.

At this point, even though I do love the show, I feel like I should just stop watching on Mondays and wait for the SciFi marathon so I can watch the eps in one big chunk.

My biggest fear is this show is turning into Lost - brilliant first season based on a unique narrative structure that becomes stale and yet the PTB fall back on that structure like a crutch instead of moving forward. And, god, I so do NOT want to turn into a crazy!psycho Lost type fan because it's only been three episodes but, already, I'm getting.. impatient.

At least they have the Matt-Mohindar-HRG team-up... which may possibly intersect with Niki and Sylar. Still, given how much the Company has screwed with them, EVERYONE (except maybe Claire and obviously Hiro) should be part of Plan Corporate Takeover.

The one thing that stuck with me this ep was actually related to some pictures of Clare filming some future scenes that I think I saw from one of your posts' links -- it's Clare crying and reaching out to someone, and Fly Boy holding her back -- in light of the 8/8 picture with HRG shot through the eye, I guess the episode's already been filmed which makes me SAD cos I like HRG.
