I can't wait to see this week's ep, especially since I've been reading the books now and there's just so much gay my brain might explode.
Not much Waldsen this episode (though there are some moments) but Blair is delicious.
Are the books really gay? Because I've been waffling back and forth on whether to read them or not, but if there is Waldsen gay I'll do it! How's the femslashiness in the first one? Cause I might start with a gayer one if the first one isn't that gay ;)
Just a sample: Once, during a very drunken night at the end of tenth grade, Serena and Blair were soaking in the hot tub, and Blair had kissed Serena full on the lips. Serena hadn't seemed to remember it the next morning, but Blair never forgot it. even though it was just an impulse move that didn't mean anything, thinking about that kiss always made her feel hot and itchy and uncomfortable.
So yeah, maybe that gives you an idea ;)
Other random stuff from other books in the series that I can think of off the top of my head...
- "S reading the personal ads in Time Out during her Mandarin Oriental Spa pedicure. Interestingly enough, she was kind of stuck on the Women Seeking Women page."
- Some kid asking Blair if she was a lesbian.

Totally right. One of my favourite scenes in the earlier eps (as in, one of the non-Waldsen scenes :p) is when Serena, Blair, Chuck, Nate and Dan are standing around at brunch and the dialogue and misunderstanding (and understanding) was just totally snapping, I was just in awe at how well it flowed. And it kinda happened again today when the "girlfriend" storms into the bar looking for "Claire" and there are like a ton of misunderstandings going on. And of course Dan again defends his sister's honour and tries to beat someone up. I wonder if they'll all end like that.
Anyway. Not that this is the time or place for this, but I'm totally curious to see what you're going to turn into fic from this episode. *puppy dog eyes*

And, that guy totally deserved whatever Dan was going to throw at him. What a skeez. I was totally waiting for the "I'm just fourteen" reveal though (oh, Battle Royale, you've made 'I'm only fifteen' hilarious to me even though it's sooooo wrong).

It's almost odd, I was thinking about throwing together a S/B fic just for fun and I realised I couldn't think of anything to write for them; everything about them is already so perfect, there's nothing missing I can provide! (An S/B fic from me would go like this: Vanessa comes to down. Dan gets her pregnant. Vanessa goes home. Dan goes with her. Just like Ugly Betty. Rufus and Lily get together and Lily lightens up. Nate realises his teen angst comes from his feelings for Chuck so THEY get together. S/B ride off into the sunset. The end.)

I was too busy laughing at the extravagance of the sleepover (not to mention the idea of high school girls planning a sleepover in such detail is just kinda funny) to even notice the significance of this! Golly. I thought my heart would break when Serena was like "I have a date with Dan." OH oh. But of course it's really cos Serena doesn't wanna bother spending time at Blair's when she can't have Blair to herself.

That scene was comedy gold. You know that Leighton had THE MOST FUN filming that. It was the lipstick and the out of it leaning on the desk that really killed me. Not to mention her 'oh, whatever' look before she walked off.

Oh. One other thing. I liked the little evil/superbitch turn Jenny took, and I liked the smile that Blair gave her at the end; I'd almost be fine with a Jenny/Blair pairing if only 1) the actress playing Jenny played her a with a little more flair 2) Jenny wasn't only 14 and 3) Serena didn't exist.

To screen your reply, you just type it and post it like normal. But after it appears in the thread click on the button with the eye and the red line through it and that will screen it so that only I can see it. You'll know it's been screened successfully because the light blue bar that has your icon and name will turn grey.
