Birds of Prey Coming to DVD

WB show "Birds of Prey will finally make it to DVD on July 29. Three young female heroines will be fighting together, living together, and soaring into adventure together when Warner Home Video's (WHV) releases "Birds of Prey: The Complete Series," which includes all 13 episodes from the series plus all-new bonus features in a 4-disc collection.

"Birds of Prey: The Complete Series" includes never-before-seen special features such as "Gotham Girls S1-3," an animated series of shorts starring the "Birds of Prey" characters.

I'm all over the animated shorts!  Also, new Barlena goodness (even if it is in cartoon form) makes me ridiculously happy.  For some reason BoP has been on my mind lately and I've kind of been missing it - or at the very least I've been missing Dina Meyer and Ashley Scott looking ridiculously hot and eye-shagging - so this news is well timed.

I know, I'm loving this trend. It's awesome. I've literally been waiting for this to come out on DVD for YEARS! I had pretty much given up hope of it happening, so I'm glad I was wrong.

I also like that we're gonna get some extras. The animated shorts are a big bonus for me. There's a part of me that really hopes there's some commentaries on there as well (seriously, getting to listen to Dina Meyer talk for 42 minutes is happy-making).

Barbara/Helena is also like one of my all-time OTPs, so I'm hoping rewatching the series will spark some fic interest in me again. I've got a half finished piece laying around that I get back into for the life of me :(

Is Gotham Girls already available somewhere? If so. I don't think I'll watch it, because I'm enjoying the anticipation of seeing some new BoP adventures in DVD clarity, but I'm not above asking if the shorts are good, lol!

Gotham Girls is a web series made some years ago, some of the eps are still available for watching. The thing is it's not exactly BoP related, it has Barbara as Batgirl and some female Batman villains including Harley Quinn. But it's a good show, I love watching Babs as Batgirl.

Gotham Girls was a really fun little animated web series made by Warner Brothers in the old Batman:TAS style. It stared Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, Batgirl, Catwoman, and Renee Montoya. According to Wikipedia, it actually ran for three seasons from 2000-2002. That surprised me, because I think I only saw the first season. I didn't know they made more. There was also a limited series comic book put out around that time that I vaguely remember seeing in the comic shops.

I'm still amused that two of the most popular Gotham women, Harley Quinn and Renee Montoya, were created solely for the cartoon, but were so popular that they were brought into the Batman books. :D

Gotham Girls was awesome to me because it had my favorite characters from the Batman cartoon in it, AND it has the same voice actors. You can still access the last season at http://www2.warnerbros.com/web/gothamgirls/episodes.jsp?eid=ep01/GG301/GG301.swf

I looooove Gotham Girls! Season 1 and 2 are hilarious and silly, season 3 got alot more serious, that kinda killed the mood of the show. :( You can watch them online here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gotham_girls

This makes me unbelievably happy! I will definitely be buying this, pre-order for sure. I may have *coughshelledoutmoneyforsomeshinyfootwearcopies*cough, and I will happily buy the real thing too. Guh, I loved this show so much. Dina Meyer is utter perfection as Barbara/Batgirl. It was inspired casting.
