Big time! The first one moreso than the second one, but I love the movies. It had me at 'sexy, female, badass vampire protagonist'. Anything with sexy, female, badass vampire protagonists owns me ... especially if they're kinda gay *remembers Blade the Series and cries at its cancellation*
No Kate though, 'tis a shame.
I'll miss Kate. I really like her in general, and love her as Selene. But ... Rhona Mitra gives me girlwood so I'm just happy that I'm gonna get to stare at her playing a sexy badass vampire for an hour and a half.

At least we get to see the full story of Sonja and Lucian.
I was always interested in this backstory. And I'd far prefer to see tons of Michael Sheen to tons of Scott Speedman ;)

Your welcome! The pics were just rips from the trailer where Rhona's face was featured long enough for me to grab the image. Hopefully the studio will release some HD pictures of her soon. I want to make a Sonja wallpaper so that I can stare at the sexy continuously!

I totally agree. When I heard Kate wasn't gonna be in it, I was like "What fuckery is this?" and then when they were like Rhona Mitra will be in it, I was like, "Okay, we cool then."
also, i like how it seems that they are revisiting the back story they told in the second movie (and maybe mentioned in the first)
Yeah, it looks a little revisionist, but whatever. I was interested in that story, and it means RHONA MITRA! I can deal :D

Date: 2008-10-25 06:21 pm (UTC)Not blasphemous to me, I'm totally with you on that. I liked KB in the movies, but Rhona Mitra is just as kickass, and no KB means no Speedman, which means no incredibly boring and unconvincing Michael/Selene relationship which is ace for me.
And then there's this: Taking the reins from director Len Wiseman and putting them in someone else's hands = this might actually be *good*!!
Which first of all, HA. And second of all, so true. The trailer looked good, I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed that this will incorporate all of the good elements of Underworld and like cut away the fuckery of the series under Wiseman.

That's why I'm seeing it. I know for a fact that Rhona's hotness is enough to carry me through a whole movie, and if you add vampires in there I'm sure I'll be able to deal.

I totally feel you on this. Sometimes even adding a super hot chick in there isn't enough to sustain my interest now if the script is really horrible, and there's really no plot to speak of.
