Bill was actually quite terrifying at the end there. It'll be interesting to see what happens to Jessica next week (and to find out the real reason she was seleceted, because I doubt that it was really random. The Evangelical mention had to mean something).

The vampire court itself was scary was fuck too. I didn't expect larger vampire society to be so dark and cruel. I'm not sure I'm understanding the metaphor of the show any more, because if vampire's are supposed to be a stand in for disenfranchised groups, minorities, and gays etc., then there's a really fucked up message going on, because the majority of vampires (except for Bill and the pretty vampire CNN lady) all seem to be egomanical, murderous, condescending douche-bags.
