I just read Dead Witch Walking, the first book in the The Hollows/Rachel Morgan series and I absolutely loved it!

Fast-paced, interesting, funny, and OH SO GAY.

IVY TAMWOOD (who totally looks like Katie McGrath in my dreams) IS SO TOTALLY MY NEW VAMPIRE GIRLFRIEND!  OMG I love Ivy like 'whoa'.  She is dreamy.  And she is so totally p-whipped already.  My god, she would totally curl up in a vampire ball at Rachel feet and lick her toes if Rachel would stop frontin' would let her.  The epicness of Ivy's love for her almost breaks my brain.

Rachel!  You iz so stoopid.  Hawt vampire wants to have your babies.  STOP FRONTIN!  You know you want it Rachel, give in.  It's okay to feel that way about your vampire!roomate, nobody will think less of you.  Ivy's a catch.  Let your love speak it's name. 

*sigh* 

Y so can't see what's standing right beside you, Rachel?  I mean, Ivy made drinking orange juice romantic!  Orange juice and MAPS!  MAPS for the love of god!  How is it possible to make maps, sexy?  I don't know, but Ivy does it!  Clearly that is not a woman you want to let get away.

I feel like I should add something about the plot and the characters and the world Kim Harrison created because they are wonderful and fantastic, but I've got a one track brain right now and I'm completely incapable of doing anything but drooling over Ivy Tamwood and the gay that is she and Rachel.

Anyway, I'm totes getting the next book tomorrow and am excited for reading the rest of the series.

Thanks for the rec f-list.  I know it took me a while to get around to actually reading it, but you were right and I blow internet kisses to you all!

I'm loving all The Hollows fans on the f-list! Holla! I'll totally be writing fic for the series. The first book has already inspired one, and I'm sure as I read more I'll want to write more.

Feel free to go ahead and spoil. I read some fanfic for the series and I think it's spoiled some plot points for the later books. If the spoilerage is Rachel/Ivy related then lay it on me. I need to know that there continues to be ghey between them. It will motivate me to read more of the books!

*obligingly spills* Lessee - there's the buildup in their relationship, which is freaking killer to read, and Rachel dating Kisten, which turns out heartbreaking when you get to Ivy and Kisten's conversations about it. Ivy bites Rachel - nearly kills her, though only AFTER Rachel tells her they can't mix sex and blood-sharing. Yes, you will want to smack her upside the head. xD

Then it gets to the whole "Rachel wants to share blood, Ivy says no 'cause she can't do just blood" bit. Rachel tries to push the sharing thing, and they end up with their first semi-kiss. Ivy swears she'll never touch Rachel again unless she starts it, but if she does, it'll be no-holds-barred everything. (Yes, this part will massively inspire fic-age.) OH! And Rachel admits to Skimmer in the beginning of For A Few Demons More that she does really love and is "in love" with Ivy, just not sexually.

*blink* I think that's everything I know. xDD Sorry if it rambles a bit, I'm a bit tired. And now I wanna go read more hot Ivy/Rachel before bed. Later! ^^

hah! i think Rachel's just in massive denial about her love for Ivy not including sexual. i'm really hoping Kim Harrison's saving Ivy for last. they can somehow share souls so when Ivy dies, she won't be soulless and evil.

Not to be a downer, but it seems Kim won't go there unless any other romantic pairing with Rachel won't work. At least that's the gist I've gotten from her comments about the issue. Or perhaps I'm reading too much into it and she's just trying not to spoil it.

Kisten was a good effort but oh, still so lacking when compared to Ivy. I do not think it's realistically possible to pair Rachel with anyone else than Ivy anymore if the series will end in book 12 or 13.

Marshal? No. Trent? Noooo. Al? Hell no.

Still; one should never underestimate the power of large young heterosexual female reader base. If there weren't a lot of people who go 'ew' at the thought of two women in love, I think Kim would've already coupled Ivy and Rachel IMO.
