That was two hours of fine television *satisfied sigh*

TSCC: Ourselves Alone (2x17)

"That's a window, bird." lol.  Oh, Cameron.  That opening scene with Cameron was fantastic.  Actually everything with Cameron was fantastic.  She so intriguing and creepy.  Watching her poke around in her arm with a screw driver squicked me out majorly.  The confrontation between her and Riley was fantastic as well.  Summer did an amazing job making Cameron threatening and creepy as hell, while also getting across that Cameron was basically accusing Riley of all of the things she feared about herself (i.e. being a huge danger to John, but not being willing/able to remove herself as a threat).  That twitching hand throughout the whole scene was one of creepiest things ever.

Goddaman, Jesse is a cold bitch.  She's a fine bitch, but she is cold as hell.  She is just an awful, awful person.  Although we will never get confirmation of it, between her repeated caresssing of Riley's face and Riley's heartbroken "I loved you!" I'm fully convinced that Jesse seduced her to set her up for that.  *sigh*  I was really hoping those two crazy kids would patch things up.  I'm totally waiting for Jesse to get her comeupance now.  She is just too fucking evil.  She needs to die, horribly (though I'll admit I will miss her a little when she's gone.  I mean she's so awful, that she is completely amusing at times).

Congrats to Levin Ramblin, because while I hated Riley for a long time, I felt for her tonight (and have been for a few episodes), and I thought acting wise Levin knocked it out of the ballpark tonight.  Her scenes with Dekker, Glau and Jacobsen were fantastic.

Jesse and Riley was a pretty awesome girlfight.  It was almost as pleasing as pleasing as Cameron vs. Random Terminators, only a bit more suspenseful since those two could actually get hurt.  I was convinced that Jesse would win, but still when she pulled out that gun I was a little sad.  Riley's expression after she was shot just killed me.  It's like after everything, a small part of her was hoping that Jesse wouldn't really do it.

Derek you are dumb.  You are a very, dumb man.  When Riley figures out she's being played before you do, you are a dumb shit.  That scene at the bar was pretty funny though.

I love this show so much, I really hope that it doesn't get canceled.  It's so good.

Dollhouse:  Gray Hour (1x04)

So, I'm visiting my mom, and she insisted on talking to me through like this whole episode so I missed bits and pieces of it.  But that's fine since it gives me an excuse to rewatch (I know, as if I really needed one).

I really liked this episode.  I'd go so far as to say that it's my favorite so far (which does hurt me to say since my gurl Claire wasn't in it).  There were some very funny lines, the plot was good, and it had some very interesting character moments.

First, it needs to be said ... why in the world would anyone hire an Active to be a midwife?  WHY?  The only thing I can think of is that this episode was aired out of order (actually I'm pretty sure that it WAS aired out of order) and that in what was supposed to be a previous episode they set up the idea of the Actives doing pro bono cases, and that the midwife thing was a pro bono case.  Cause otherwise *head scratch*

Secondly, I never thought I would say this, but I'm getting tired of Eliza in her bra every episode.  It's like, I love hot chicks in bra's, but it's feeling very exploitative, but in a dirty way, not a good way.   I know it's likely that pervs are going to be hiring Echo, but I really don't need to see her whoring it up every episode, despite how visually pleasing Eliza fluffing her cleavage is.  That whole scene before they disappeared up to the hotel room didn't need to be there.  In fact, considering the fact that "Taffy" just kneed the guard unconscious, I'm not sure why they needed the subterfuge at all.  How hard could it have been to get them kitchen staff outfits, and then just have Taffy knee the guy unconscious after they snuck into The Room of Facilitating Rape his office.

That being said, once Faith Taffy got into kickass mode, she was awesome.  Seriously, every time she said, "Blue skies" or whatever the line was, all I heard was "Five by five".  I do wish the wardrobe department had been paying attention to the script however, because that line about "wearing comfortable shoes" being said not once but twice while the "Taffy's" where in like four inch heels BUGGED.

I loved the discussion about the Picasso painting.  I'm glad that theif guy didn't die just because of his thoughts on that painting.  Of course it applied to Echo, but I just really felt the general truth of the statement and thought that it was a beautiful and poignant scene.

Echo in her tabula rasa state *HUGS*  She is darling and heartbreaking at the same time.   I'm glad the Anson Mount character died just because he hit her.  That was some evil shit, like kicking a puppy.  I don't care if you're scared.  I was also very happy to see Echo's characteristic ability to think on her feet even in the tabula rasa state.

Sierra, my love!  Dichen is continuing to impress me.  I loved her Taffy just as much as Eliza's.  Her American accent is also very good.  Plus, she made that outfit look good.  Plus, I'm convinced that if Dominic hadn't been loitering in her office that Adelle would have done Taffy.  There was some nice sexual chemistry between those two in that scene.  I think that if Adelle were to hire an Active, she'd totally be a bottom.

Speaking of impressing me, Enver is really impressing me too.  The fear and devastation on his face as Ballard laid out his plan like hit me in the gut big time.

Ballard ... wow, cold man.  Cold.  He and Jesse should hook up and be really, really, ridiculously good looking fucktards together.  They could get married and have fantastically good looking evil babies together.

Adelle!  You are human!  My god, I wanted to hug Adelle after that conversation on the phone with her boss.  I don't really know where they are going with her character, but I'm very interested.  Dominic's, "I'm sorry" to her when it seemed like Echo was going to die was very interesting to me.  I mean, I suppose it simply could have been an "I'm sorry you're going to get your ass handed to you by your bosses for getting an active killed", but the mission was approved so I don't really think so.  I think that he knows she has a genuine attachment to the Dolls, and that losing one would upset her on a personal level as well as being an inconvenience job wise.  In any case, I'm really enjoying the humanzing of herthat we've been seeing the last few episodes.  Also, Adelle is scared shitless of Alpha, and is totally worried about that crazy ass coming after her.  I mean, she seemed shaken during the flashbacks in the second episode, but she was clearly scared during that conversation with Topher at the end.

There's nobody I'd love to see after a near death experience more than Boyd.  He continues to be the best handler ever.

Hey, it's Deb's annoying I.A. contact from Dexter.  You were superfluous there and you are here.  Moar Claire, less this chick.  No offense to the actress, I just want Amy Acker on my screen.

I was disappointed by the lack of follow up between Echo and Sierra after the epic headshake last week.  But again, I think this only happened because FOX is run by idiots airing episodes out of order.

The only thing I didn't like about this episode was the 'cry rape' plot point.  I was really, really upset about the idea that the company would send an Active on an engagement where it was within the mission parameters for them to be sexually assaulted.  Good acting on Eliza's part, because that scene hurt to watch.  So, the "HA HA!  I'm actually a tough as nails, safe cracker with fabulous hair reveal" was not so much a Super Awesome, as it was a Fuck You Writers moment.  It's tough enough for people to come forward after being sexually assualted that I don't really like the idea that women are just liars being perpetuated.  Like I said above, that whole plotline reeked of FOX and could totally have been avoided.

Still, I am LOVING this show.

I cannot wait until next week ... AHHHHH, I've just remembered I'm not going to be able to watch next week because I'll be on a plane!  Oh, curses.  *sigh*  Well, I guess that means I'll just have twice the Sarah Connor and Dollhouse goodness to watch upon my return

Okay, I think I've rambled enough now ... I'm off to beddy bye!

Oh gods, yes.

I loved the fight scene between these two--hated the inevitable ending, but loved the scene--though I was surprised Riley could be so strong when she's still in the process of recovering from two slit wrists. Chick was more impressive than I'd previously given her credit for.

It was pretty badass.

Eh. I felt bad for Riley this episode, but she made the beginning of the season so fucking unbearable for me, that I'm not really sad to see her go. Jesse is an awful person and a heinous, evil bitch, but she's entertaining. And I heart Stephanie Jacobsen.

I was surprised Riley could be so strong when she's still in the process of recovering from two slit wrists

Yeah, me too. I'm thinking rage gave her an edge. Because really, Riley with her slit wrists and her being a former sewer rat, really shouldn't have posed any sort of a challenge to 'I break bones and laugh' Jesse.

I don't mind that much though, because the fight scene was so awesome.

This has got to be my favorite episode since the show came back from hiatus, and was a nice after the intriguing but frustrating episode from last week.

That was two hours of fine television

MTE. I was looking forward to both shows all week and for once I wasn't left disappointed.

Jesse and Riley was a pretty awesome girlfight.

That scene had me yelling at my TV. Which is not such a good idea when you're already losing your voice thanks to a cold. But yeah, after all the yelling, 'Come on Jesse, you're a frakin soldier!' I did feel a bit sad that Riley lost. Only a little though. I'm glad she's finally gone, but I know Jesse needs to get taking out too. As much as she's a pleasure to watch, like you said, the woman is coooold. And now I'm really curious as to how different her future is/was (whatever) to Cameron's and Derek's.

It's like, I love hot chicks in bra's, but it's feeling very exploitative, but in a dirty way, not a good way.

I totally get what you're saying and maybe it's a Fox thing because I'm still not sure what the whole deal with Cameron walking around the house in just her underwear again last week was all about. As if there wasn't another way to show us once again that yeah, that Cameron is a quirky one.

why in the world would anyone hire an Active to be a midwife? WHY?

I was asking myself the same damn question. But hell if I had the money, I'd be hiring Echo for just about anything. Knowing my luck though, I'd probably get some other active that's not Echo or Sierra or anyone that is remotely as hot.

four inch heels BUGGED.

Yes! The last time I checked running around, hell just walking around in four inch heels is anything but comfortable. You would think Eliza would have said something. Use them producer powers of yours girl.

There was some nice sexual chemistry between those two in that scene.

I love how at one point when Adelle is at her chair with Taffy hovering over her, it seemed like Adelle could barely contain herself. But yeah, I'm really starting to like Adelle. I mean, like her more than for just being all hot and authoritative and having an English accent. It would have been boring if they had made her a straight up villain. I like that she cares and that there possibly could be some confliction going on in that pretty head of hers in concern of the dolls.

I just want Amy Acker on my screen.

This x10. I missed her tonight. Luckily I believe I read in an interview that she filmed all but one of the 13 episodes. So we won't have to worry about not seeing Claire. Unless Fox.....never mind, must not think negative thoughts. This show keeps getting better and better, even when Claire doesn't appear, so the show has to stick around!

lol, me too. I like the idea of Riley a lot more than I liked the reality of her, and while I feel for her, I'm glad she won't be crapping up my television screen anymore.

the woman is coooold. And now I'm really curious as to how different her future is/was (whatever) to Cameron's and Derek's.

Word. I'm hoping this weeks episode will help answer that question (though I'm so sad because I'm totes going to be on a plane and miss both this AND Dollhouse *cries*)

maybe it's a Fox thing because I'm still not sure what the whole deal with Cameron walking around the house in just her underwear again last week was all about.

I know! That was so random. The first time it was funny, because there was a reason for it. This time it just made no sense, and totally smacked of FOX wanting a girl in her undies on screen.

I was asking myself the same damn question.

Somebody on TWoP suggested that it might be a politician/celebrity and a love-baby with someone no who's not their spouse, which is why a Doll would be attractive to them because the memory wipe would insure that baby's birth didn't end up being an U.S. Weekly cover page. But some kind of on-screen explanation would have been nice.

You would think Eliza would have said something. Use them producer powers of yours girl.

I think Eliza is probably more into looking killer in those boots than script consistency. At least she maybe could have had the line changed so that it wasn't AS ridiculous.

it seemed like Adelle could barely contain herself.

LOL! This.

It would have been boring if they had made her a straight up villain. I like that she cares and that there possibly could be some confliction going on in that pretty head of hers in concern of the dolls.

Totes. I'm more and more interested in her every week. *is a proud Adelle Dewitt Fan-girl*

I believe I read in an interview that she filmed all but one of the 13 episodes. So we won't have to worry about not seeing Claire.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *happy dance*

"I want you to prepare yourself for what will happen when Cameron finds out."
Ooh, sounded a lot like, "Wait until your father gets home!" lol.

I must admit I'm am SO glad to see Riley out of the picture. Her character just irritated the heck out of me.

Totally, lol. That was great.

I'm am SO glad to see Riley out of the picture. Her character just irritated the heck out of me.

I loathed her in the beginning of the season, and came to tolerate her by the end. The stuff with Jesse was interesting, but I'd built up too much Riley hate to want her to stick around.

"But again, I think this only happened because FOX is run by idiots airing episodes out of order."

Maybe Joss can get the show moved to another network. Or...maybe all of us rabid fans get together we can pay for it ourselves. Or have a movie made. With lots of Claire time (hee hee! I am with ya on the needing Amy Acker on my TV screen!). Hell...it worked with Firefly!
Stupid networks.

I think we're just going to have to wait until the DVD of the first season comes out, and then watch it ourselves in order (with the original pilot instead of the lame FOX-ified one).

Stupid networks.

This. So much this.

I loved how both Adele and Topher reacted to the possibility of losing Echo. They didn't want it, they were unhappy about it.

Same goes for the scene when Topher figured out that Alpha was still alive. It's very interesting to see that Topher is ... afraid (?) of Adele but still confronts her about Alpha. And both are scared of him.

Good acting on Eliza's part, because that scene hurt to watch.

God, yes. I was shaking when I watched it.

Weirdly enough, I didn't mind the reveal that followed. Maybe because I was relieved that Taffy was ok, that it was just a game. Shows how good Eliza's acting was that I didn't want the rape/assault to be real.

Heh, I think this may have been the gayest episode of Sarah Connor in a long time.. well, at least in my mind. Because when Cameron said her hand was broken, I was all 'yeah, I know what she did to break those fingers' and by 'did' I totally mean 'Sarah'. And I'm gonna second [livejournal.com profile] cmdrkates, 'cuz that was such a 'wait 'til your father gets home' moment with Sarah and John.

Goddaman, Jesse is a cold bitch.

Totally. And manipulative as HAY-ELL. What shocked me was when she insinuated the possibility of something going on between Riley and Derek to Sarah. Because that? Was cold. But it also makes me wonder what's going on in the future that Jesse is soo determined to remove Cameron from John's life. Like, it reached a point where it stopped being a mission and became an obsession. To the point where Jesse's execution of her plan has become a bit shortsighted. I mean, yes, the endgame is 'Riley must die/Cameron does it' but I also think she overplayed her hand. Which, you know, is what next week is going to be about but still.

I also had to chuckle when Jesse and Derek were talking and she was 'taking orders from Sarah' like it was a bad thing. And I was all 'oh honey, you have *NO IDEA* what you're talking about. Sarah doesn't have to seduce people to get them to do their bidding, like SOME people. She just has to, you know, walk into a room'!

Derek you are dumb. You are a very, dumb man.

I hate to say it but I think I'm starting to like Derek. Maybe it's because after all his talk about Sarah and John being 'distracted', he's the one about to eat a giant helping of shit pie! Sarah may have been acting crazy the past couple weeks but her craziness led them closer to Skynet. Of the three of them, it's Derek who's put John in the most danger.

Sarah will NOT be pleased.

re: Dollhouse

It's like, I love hot chicks in bra's, but it's feeling very exploitative, but in a dirty way, not a good way.

Yes, and I blame this on FOX who wanted a 'hot chicks with guns show' instead of saying 'you know, maybe a show that's subtextually about how the sexual exploitation of women is wrong *isn't* the show for us'. Because, really, how FOX is selling this show and what the show is actually about couldn't be MORE diametrically opposed. (I also think it's funny that we keep getting the gratuitous 'Cameron walks around in her undies' on Sarah Connor but we've yet to see *Sarah* in her underwear! Hey! I'm equal opportunity exploitation!)

The only thing I didn't like about this episode was the 'cry rape' plot point.

Heh, and I thought the 'hiring an Active to be a mid-wife' would be the dumbest thing in this episode. Because, really, the show's already skating across the exploitation line enough for them to go THERE. I suppose I should have been suspicious when Boyd didn't show up to rescue Echo but, as you said, there were a million different ways they could have chosen and they chose the ugliest and unnecessary way possible.

Oh, I also wanted someone to seriously SLAP Topher during this episode. Like, maybe instead of WHINING during a crisis you could actually try and DO SOMETHING first and, you know, whine later!

But, other than that, yeah totally loving show! Hee!
