Rachel not letting Ivy bite her would have made sense if Harrison had established that the vampire saliva in her system would dissipate over time. But the way it's written, it seems like once it's there, it's there for eternity.
You know, she actually posted a reply on her page about this today. Off the top of my head, she said something along the lines of if it's not stimulated by a vamp, it fades with time.
