How come no one told me Species II was so gay?

Because I totally would have watched it before this if I knew that:

That Dr. Laura Baker and Eve would have this Jennifer/Needy-esque tragic love affair!

I doubt the director will ever come out and be like "yeah, they were doing it" like Karyn Kusama did with Jennifer's Body, but Laura totally had a girl-boner for Eve and in the end Eve proved how much she totes loved Laura too.

I mean these movies are ridiculous, don't get me wrong. I saw Species when I was like 13 and the only thing I remembered about it before watching the series this weekend was that Natasha Henstridges boobs made me gay. Honestly, I remembered nothing about it other than her being naked a lot and being really, really hot ... and I was pretty sure that she was an alien or something, lol.

Still, as dumb as they are the movies (I and II at least, III so far is suffering due to the fact that there is no Marg, Natasha was only in it for like five minutes and her boobs didn't make an appearance, and the fact that Robin Dunne *shudder* is in it) are as entertaining as they are ridiculous and there ain't nothing wrong with that!

It's likely that only about three people will read it, but there will be fic for this pairing soon. I know, of all the things to inspire me to actually write after this dry spell it's Species II fic. Species II. If I wasn't so happy to have finished a piece I would be disappointed in myself.

Plot:  An astronaut gets infected with alien DNA during the first mission on Mars and runs amok on earth. The surviving team members from the first film team up with a peaceful, genetically re-engineered Sil to track the monster down.

They made a sequel? Damn, I have to have me some of that silly sci-fi nonsense! There is something about these silly movies that's very appealing, especially if they've got added genetically engineered hottie and 'I was once KC on China Beach' blondie subtext.

My mom took me to see Species when I was 12 (ish, I don't remember when it came out, but I think it was the same year as T2, which also scared the crap out of me). All I remember is her punching through a bathroom wall and ripping someone's spine out. That visual apparently horrified me so much that it blocked out all the nudity. Or, maybe it was because my mom covered my eyes during the sex scenes, though she felt no such compulsion to do so during the scenes of intense violence. Like, you know, when someone's spine has just been ripped out.

I haven't seen Species II in forever but I do recall the lesbian subtext between those two. I was bummed when Eve escaped because it effectively ended their fun time together. If you write fic I'll definitely read.

oh wow, i remember watching I and II when i was a teen. the only thing to redeem their terribleness in my eyes was Natasha Henstridge lol. can't remember Marg's character much though.

UBER gay! especially since there was once a 'sighting' of Natasha at a LA strip joint. she sat in front of the stage shoving "benjamins' down down various pieces of barely-there material... or so i heard. I can't remember if I saw II or not. I remember there being an adult male alien running around who was biologically related to her and she helped find him, but I forget if that was I or II. About all I remember from I was Michael Madsen suggesting that the scientists didn't get out much if they thought a female test subject would be weaker and more pliable. (Oh yeah, and Natasha kissing that guy and her tongue goes out the back of his skull.)

lol. all i remember about species was natasha's boobs too :) (and that scene where she killed that poor lady on the train. yikes.) and i didn't know there was a sequel. thanks for the dl link. taking it :)
