Date: 2009-12-15 05:30 pm (UTC)As much as that promo cracked me up, I do worry if this type of advertising will backfire. Contrary to popular (read Hollywood) belief - Sex Doesn't Always Sell. Selling this movie as a gratuitous T&A-fest, when there's actually very little nudity, to an audience that's going to stop giving a shit the moment they realize there's no actual nudity (amongst the principal actresses) seems like a recipe for failure. It's like Jennifer's Body all over again, ie, selling the movie to the audience (horny adolescent males) that has no actual interest in seeing Megan Fox *act*!
As much as I enjoyed the GGW spoof, I'd prefer they promote the movie for what it is as opposed to something it's not.

I'm not terribly worried about it, because I almost think that this stuff is just aimed at people who are already on the Bitch Slap train and are like actively looking for this stuff. The trailer give a pretty good indication of what you're getting yourself into and that's what most people are going to see.
