Now this was a season opener. I loved every freaking second of it.
1. PAM!! I am loving the increased Pam screen time. Kristen Bauer is perfection. Sookie’s, “I'm in no mood for lesbian weirdness tonight, Pam!" had me in stitches. Pam's bored, "No, Sookie. Don't go down there," to Sookie when Sookie planned to barge in on Eric also cracked me the hell up. And her “I see something I like” as she looked at Yvette hanging in those chains, rawr bb, very rawr. I find ASkars about as arousing as a beige wall, so thank god Pam brought some heat to that scene.
Also, everything with Pam and Lafayette was gold was well.
"I don't know what it is about me that makes people think I want to hear their problems. Maybe I smile too much. Maybe I wear too much pink. But please remember I can rip your throat out if I need to. And also know that I am not a hooker. That was a long, long time ago." lol.
Damn, if that’s how Pam reacts to being called “Hooker” I’d be calling her hooker all the time. Sure, I might die, but I’d die with Pam pressed up against me whispering sweet nothings in my ear and I’m pretty sure I’d go with a smile on my face.
"You pickin' up what I'm puttin' down?"
I is, Pam. I is.
2. HOLY HOYAY, Batman! Sam’s dream *drools*. I’m usually pretty indifferent to m/m happenings, but DAYUM! That Bill/Sam scene was hot like Mexico. I was so upset when Sam woke up. I don’t know how this is going to play into the plotline for the season, but I hope to hell Sam has some more of these dreams because Moyer and Tramell have some great chemistry together!
3. Ryan Kwanten is such a good actor. I liked Jason a lot better last season when he kept his clothes on and had a real plotline, so I think I’m going to enjoy his storyline this year. “Conscience off, dick on” doesn’t seem to be working for him now, which hopefully means some nice character development and some meaty material for Ryan. Also, Jason’s scene with Hoyt cracked me the hell up. “Kind of a nasty way to ask, though” LOL! Oh Jason, you’re so dumb but adorable.
4. Sophie Ann. I feel like one of the only people in True Blood fandom that likes her (or more likely I’ve been reading too much TWoP cause they hate her over there, but IRL friends seem to like the character just fine). I was so happy when she walked on screen. I like the character and think ERW is doing a fine job. Plus, her climbing Eric like a tree was hilarious.
5. Tara, gurl you’s breaking my heart! God, the scenes with Tara were brutal to watch. I seriously don’t want this to be another season of Tara suffering endlessly. Can’t this woman catch a break? Come on writers, we know Rutina can do tortured well, but I really want to see her get a chance to do more than rant and rave and cry.
Also, Lettie Mae continues to be a complete asshole. Her daughter is falling to frakking pieces and the woman is too busy hitting on the Pastor to pay attention to her. That whole scene with the pastor was so self-serving on Lettie Mae’s part. I just want to strangle that woman, and then call up my mother and tell her how much I love her for actually being there for me all of my life, and being someone I know I can count on when shits getting out of control (or I need a button sewed onto a jacket, lol). Lettie Mae is such an awful Mom.
6. Lafayette is a good cousin though. I really loved him taking care of Tara, and his smack-down of Lettie Mae was gold. Like with Kristen Bauer I just love every scene Nelson Ellis is in. I can’t wait for the introduction of Alejandro, well Kevin Alejandro that is. Seeing those two on screen together is going to be most excellent, and some very pleasing to mine eyes.
"BITCH! THAT YOU AND ME BRIDGE IS NEVER HAPPENING!" LOL 4 eva!
7. Sookie was alright. She didn’t bother me too much, but she didn’t do anything that made me squee either. I do like that she dropped her “MUST SAVE BEEEEEL” crusade when she saw that Tara was crumbling, and that she tried to be supportive before Tara went off on her. Mostly I was ‘meh’ about Sookie though. I’m glad that she and Bill will likely be separated most of the season because I like Bill so much better away from her, and Sookie usually is ‘meh’ to me instead of enraging when they aren’t on screen together.
8. Liked Jessica’s scenes as usual. That first one smiling at the flowers before dragging the body into the house cracked me up. I do like that Jessica, even in the midst of dealing with her own rather serious shit is still up for helping out other people. I also generally really enjoy Sookie in scenes with Jessica, so I liked their tag team pair up this ep.
All in all, I can’t frakking wait for the next episode!

I agree on ERW. I actually like her character and she can certainly act. It's just that the writers haven't given her much to do yet.
Pam. I'm just amazed how effortlessly Kristin Bauer owns this role. Also surprised that Pam doesn't have to constantly swat away over-enthusiastic fang-bangers. If I'd have to pick one vampire with a crazy fan-club it would be Pam.
I like Jessica on the basis that the actor is just so damn hot. Unfortunately my brain can't go further because it just kinda short circuits.
I find Lorena hot as hell also. Glad that she will be back.
The show has some of the prettiest people on TV.
Sookie. I guess I'm in the minority in really liking her. I like her determined bullheadedness, blind emotionality and loyalty. She's really good to her friends and family.
Don't really like Jason because his storylines are just so blah. He never solves anything; just passively stumbles into things. Perhaps it could work as a comic relief but not for me, not at the moment, no. Ryan is doing a great job tho.
Bill and Sam.. uhhuh. The most charged scene of the ep definitely. It's interesting to see where it goes because they seem to be in the same neck of the woods. This storyline has some great possibilities.
True Blood is the best show on TV at the moment for me, but then again there ain't that much competition.

Date: 2010-06-15 01:04 am (UTC)God, I loved that line. That whole scene really. Lafayette is awesome, and I never get tired of seeing people call Lettie Mae out on her shit. It's why I liked Marianne at first. Nelson Ellis, like Kristin Bauer just never misses with deliver and attitude.

I KNOW! Kristen is amazing. I'm constantly astounded by how perfect she is, and I'm always mesmerized by her. I can't wait to see what she'll do with more screen time this season. She's a great actress.
And I know the internet loves Pam, but I'm really surprised Pam doesn't have more of following at like Fangtasia or something. The woman oozes charm and sensuality. I'm so glad she's finally gonna get some action this season.

Deborah Ann Woll is fantastic, and ridiculously pretty. I don't have too much to say about Jessica for this season yet, but I'm looking forward to DAW on my screen as much as possible!
I find Lorena hot as hell also. Glad that she will be back.
Word! I love Lorena. She's hot, and the character brings good drama with her. I'm glad she'll be back too.

So true. And it's about to get prettier with Kevin Alejandro joining the show. I LOVE to look at that man. Theo Alexander and the actor playing Alicide are also wonderful man candy, not to mention Yvetta. It's going to be a very pretty season!
Don't really like Jason because his storylines are just so blah...Ryan is doing a great job tho.
Jason's story lines are never that great, but Ryan is such a good actor that he's drawn me into Jason. I didn't give a crap about Jason first season, but I care about him now and I love to watch Ryan act.

Charged indeed! Just thinking about that season makes me fluttery inside. I'm so scared that there's not gonna be more though because the dream was just a side effect of Sam drinking Bill's blood last season (just like how Sookie and Lafayette had sex dreams about Eric). I hope we get another dream or two though, and an awkwardly sexy scene between the real Sam and Bill when they meet each other again.
Sadly I think we'll have to wait for the vampire King and the appearance of Kevin Alejandro as Lafayette's love interest for real m/m.
True Blood is the best show on TV at the moment for me, but then again there ain't that much competition.
Mm, totally. It's the only show I'm really super excited to watch now that LotS is off the air.
