Rhona Mitra is a goddess.  She is what drew me to the show, and is totally the best thing about it.  I'm so thrilled that she's getting a chance to do some actual acting instead of just being super hot and bad-ass.  She's allowed to have a vulnerability in this show that I haven't seen from her much on screen, and it's lovely to see (especially since I also get my kick-ass Rhona in there along with this new and wonderful wobbiness).

I'm digging Devon a lot and look forward to more of her interactions with Claire.  I've loved me some Chandra West long time, so it's great to see her on screen, and when you combine the wicked hotness of Chandra with the brain-melting hotness of Rhona Mitra, you own me for as long as your show is on the air.  For reals.  Plus, I love me some bad girls, so Devon being the naughty witch is very relevant to my interests.

And yes, I am already shipping Claire/Devon!

I like Teen Wolf.  I felt for him, and his rage issues.  Charlie and Andie don't really bother me, but I didn't buy their instant love connection either, so my sympathies are with dutiful Teen Wolf instead of his trifling girlfriend.  Also, the werewolf pack thing is way more interesting than anything Charlie has going on, so Teen Wolf is my favorite teen right now.  Also, he looks good shirtless, and I enjoy the whole homo-eroticism of the wolf-pack.

Not digging the police chief at all.  His INTENSITY and disregard for the rules because of his FEELINGS didn't charm me.  He's coming on a little too strong.  We as the audience know he's right about the Radcliff's, but he honestly doesn't have a ton of evidence to be going on at the moment so sneaking onto their property in the dead of night to skulk around like a creeper came off kind of obsessive and douchey instead of heroic.  I'm however, pretty interested in why Devon is interested in his wife and in what it is that Devon's 'tea' might end up doing to her.  

Also, I'm calling that Papi  (aka Female Cop) totally knows that the Radcliff's are vampires and is trying to cover for them, and that she is most likely a vampire herself.

I'm probably forgetting a lot of stuff, but I'm tired right now and need to go beddie bye, but I'm definitely intrigued by this show, I'm extremely happy with the large amounts of Rhona Mitra with bonus Chandra West, vampires and werewolves existing in the same space makes me happy, and I think this will definitely be guilty pleasure viewing for me for the summer!

*anxiously awaits True Blood download finishing so that I can see ever MORE vampires and werewolves!*

also... true blood was really good. i liked the bit with lafayette and pam is ALWAYS a win. it also cracked me up tonight, if for no other reason that one (not really) spoilerly line from the episode

The pilot was actually surprisingly decent (and pilot episodes usually suck). I think this has potential. But even if it was awful I'd still watch til the better end for Rhona, lol

That line was the best thing Sookie has ever done, lol. I really enjoyed it. I actually really liked that scene for the Sookie/Jason bonding as well.

The pilot was actually really good. I enjoyed the show a lot. I'm afraid that with it's rating ABC (Always Be Canceling) isn't going to keep it on for long, but I'll be watching for as long as it lasts!

And it's already got me ficcing, so that's a good thing. Claire/Devon are going to be my power couple on that show! They are delicious.

lol! I too was totally amused by that. The reveal of the body in the fridge also probably shouldn't have amused me so much but it did, especially since Claire looked like a kid who'd been caught stealing chocolate during it.

My mom was over: "Who is that?" Had to turn an "UNF" into a "cough Rhona!" !!

LOL! It's so hard to control yourself when confronted with the hotness of Rhona Mitra. My mom likes Rhona since she was on Boston Legal however, so she was unfazed by my excitement about seeing Rhona on screen.

Teen Wolf - oh noes! Now I'll envision them van surfing!

Sorry for the association though. Only on a rewatch did I catch that his name was Brett. I was too busy obsessing over Rhona to pay much attention to the other characters the first time around.

Totally think Papi w/ a Gun has something cookin' too! Can't wait.

Yeah, I don't know what her deal is, but I'm intrigued. She was just way too "Oh, it's not important ... it's not a big deal ..." about everything. She definitely knows about the supernaturals, and if she isn't one she's trying to protect them.

There's definitely other positive elements than Rhona, but Rhona is still a big plus!

I totally agree with your assessment. Teen wolf is by far the most interesting of the younger cast and the most likeable. I don't care a jot for the young-instant-love twosome and would much rather they concentrated on the wolf pack and the naked brotherhood (a naked sisterhood would be good too).

The chief comes across as something of an arse-hole with 'issues' and that's not a good combination. One episode in and I'm already hoping Claire turns his wife and the wife drinks his blood as her afternoon cocktail.

Claire is intense and interesting and that's all for the good. She makes it easy to root for the killer vampire over the douche cop. Her little scene with Devon also had a nice intensity about it so I hope they continue with that.

For sure! Brett is the only teen that I'm actually invested in. And they better show some female werewolves as well. Almost every time I see werewolves they're male, so I hope this show is more equal opportunity.

Yeah, I LOVED how Claire seethed when Devon showed up, and how she wouldn't stop staring her down until Peg pulled her away. I really want to know what happened between the two of them. That intensity is nice, and oh so shippable.

The previews of next week episode seem to hint that Andie may be a Sucubus. Someone is talking about her and they say "she has a strange effect on boys."

That would explain why teen wolf is so possessive and why Charlie fell in love at first sight.

I didn't even consider that Janina Gavankar's character might be a vampire! But I definitely agree that I am rubbed the wrong way by the police chief - coming on wayyyy too strong. His wife reminds me of Shannen Doherty! Just randomly.

Dunno what to think about Devon... I'm not as big a Chandra West fan as you are so I'm a bit meh about the Wiccan(?) storyline. I definitely am interested in how the werewolf thing is going to pan out.

Overall it was a pilot so there was a lot of info crammed into an episode, so I did feel a bit overwhelmed but I expected that. It was well executed and well set out, though, compared to other pilots. Hopefully the rest of the episodes will be a bit more centric to individuals/families and I won't feel like it's ridiculous to suddenly have vampires and werewolves and witches all in one gated community... actually I hope there's some overarching mythology or history to it that is more than the standard sort of "it's a safe haven" blah blah.
