OMG!  I just watched a kickass Canadian show.  I'm so happy you guys, I don't even ...

Synopsis:  Lost Girl focuses on the gorgeous and charismatic Bo, a supernatural being called a succubus who feeds on the energy of humans, sometimes with fatal results. Refusing to embrace her supernatural clan and its rigid hierarchy, Bo is a renegade who takes up the fight for the underdog while searching for the truth about her own mysterious origins.

Oh, Canada.  My home and native land!  Thank you for finally producing a show that I am excited to watch.  It's like the dawning of a new era.  I'm so happy ya'll!

Also, because this is my f-list I am happy to announce to you all that the pilot had a shit ton of femslash! 

The scenes between Bo and Dr. Lauren (a.k.a Dr. Blake Lively Look-a-like) had me squeeing like I was watching Rizzoli & Isles or Morgana/Morgause Merlin scenes!  Also the relationship between Bo and Kenzi is really cute (Kenzi so has a mad girl-crush on Bo) and kinda gay (Bo actually declares, "She's mine!" at one point).  It's too hard to tell at the moment, but Dr. Lauren might be a legit gay character, and Bo definitely comes across as being bisexual.

I am totally in for next week Showcase!

Now, I must go watch The Gates because I see Devon and will therefore totally love this episode.

Argh, I have to wait nine minutes for the repeat to watch it. I have to say the True Blood season finale (which I watched in Lost Girl's place) was a mixed experience for me. Maybe I should have just stuck to Lost girl lol I was just worried that Lost Girl might have cheesy plots and really bad acting.... But I shall keep an open mind.

I have to download True Blood so I haven't seen it yet, but at least now I know to go into it with lowered expectations.

Lost Girl definitely has an element of cheese to it what with all of the supernatural creatures and limited budget for CGI/special effects. But the acting was really strong, especially from the lead Anna Silk who has a lot of screen presence and the supporting characters were strong. The most well known actress in the pilot (Emmanuelle Vaugier) was really the only one who was camping it up. Zoie Palmer (Dr. Lauren) was also very charismatic and fun to watch.

Overall I was very impressed by it. It's not some award winning HBO show or something, but I was pleasantly surprised by it, and I would say it's one of the better genre show pilots I've seen in a while.

I've just watched it and I'm not surprised you're into it too! There's a femslash scene every 5 minutes. So awesome! And the vampire guy is hot too. They should just organise huge orgies or something.

The vampire guy was hot. I really and truly hope that Dyson (vampire guy), Bo, and Lauren all end up in some kind of crazy love triangle, because the sexy and pretty would be out of control.

I second the motion for huge orgies! This show is full of pretty and they all have chemistry together. Go git it!

Kenzi really is golden. I really enjoyed her. I think I'm going to really like the Bo/Kenzie friendship. And despite Kenzi's words, she totally has a girl-boner for Bo.

Lost Girl was really, really good, and super gay.

The Gates continues to not be gay at all *sigh* I really wish they'd have Devon and Claire interact again. It's become clear to me that the chemistry between Rhona and Chandra was the most enjoyable thing for me. They haven't even been giving me Brett pretties lately. *sigh* This show focuses so much attention on everyone who bores me, and no attention on the pretties.

I like the premise and a lot of what the show is. They just seem to have problems deciding whether Bo is the hero or the anti-hero. She would make a very good anti-hero, but as a hero the character just won't work. Basically a supernatural serial-killer. I hope they develop the character in a way that makes me more comfortable with it.

I really liked Richelle Mead's Succubus series so I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Yeah, they do need to lock it down. Bo might have potential has a hero though. She's only a killer because she hasn't been trained yet, not because she wants to be. So once she learns how to control her powers she could totally end up fighting the good fight to atone for her previous sins.

Thank you, oh truffle-hound of femslash goodness, for discovering another little gem. The Dr. Lauren scene deserves to be watched and re-watched and then watched again. I fear a Bo/Saber-toothed cop pairing might be in the offing but that won't stop the femslash I'm sure this will generate (so long as enough people get to see it).

The Dr. Lauren scene was a thing of beauty and I have rewatched it numerous times already. They had such good chemistry, and I found Dr. Lauren to be ridiculously cute.

I think a Bo/Saber-toothed Cop (LOL) pairing is inevitable, but from the previews for the next week which seemed to have some more Dr. Lauren flirting, I'm hoping that the show will genuinely have a Bo/Lauren/Saber-Tooth love triangle.

This. I hope that people are still able to see it even though it's airing on a Canadian network, because I think this really has the possibility of developing a rabid femslash audience in the vein of Legend of the Seeker or Rizzoli and Isles as long as people are able to see it. *fingers crossed*

I just found it while googling for more info about the show, and although it says it's four minutes, it seems to be the same two minute section twice. Not that that matters, because there's a moment in it that made me go OMGWATYAYWAT. I haven't felt this happy and fangirly over something in ages, it's kind of nice, thank you :)

OMG I'm almost so inlove with this show now (and I say almost cause of the whole chessy effects but eh w/e's) but BO OMFG shes so hot I like melted to my seat and was like sucking the life from some creppy dude, and the whole thing of kenzi watching the video on her phone and freaking out was pure gold.

I've fallen hard for this show too! How could I not really, it's like it was tailor made for me.

And I'm totally down with everyone wanting to get in Bo's pants, cause I do too so I have no room to judge. Also, girls looking at girls like they want to lick them is never not awesome.

I wrote this somewhere else, but I thought I'd share it.

I thought the pilot, especially some of the writing, was a bit clunky. I agree with the assessments that Morrigan and the sidekick are try-hards, but I'm not that surprised. I don't know anything about the actor who plays the sidekick, but Emmanuelle Vaugier, who plays Morrigan, is not a good actor. Fortunately, the actors playing the lead, the detective, and the doctor are decent-to-good and likable. They just need to settle down in their roles a bit. Picking Anna Silk as the lead was a really good choice, because she knows how to play sexy, and she knows how to give her acting partner that look, like she wants you. I also really like Zoie Palmer, who plays the doctor. She's good at emotion and subtlety. Kris Holden-Ried, who plays the detective, is probably the most well known in Canada.

Oh, and Showcase.ca lets you watch it without downloading.
