Yep, still liking it ...

- Frankie is a whiny, emo, ASSHOLE ... but she could still tap it. I'mma be honest about it. I wouldn't take her out in public ... but I would take her.
- Tess and Lou are quickly becoming my favorite ship. I was giving Lou some serious side-eye at the beginning of the episode, but by the end of the episode all was forgiven and I was squeeing with delight when Lou finally ... uh, shall we say 'took the plunge'. Also, they always get the funniest material. Tess doing the interview had me LMAO. *sigh* Tess. I heart her so much.
- I also like Cat and Lady!Cop (Sam?) because they were adorable awkward instead of painfully awkward this week. Lady!Cop is actually really funny, and reasonable (must be such a nice change for Cat after Frankie), and chivalrous. Plus, I like her swagger and the fact that she makes Cat smile. I haven't given up on Frankie/Cat as an endgame, but I'm fully onboard with Cat/Lady!Cop for the foreseeable future.
- I think Frankie/Sadie is going to be interesting, if only for the fact that Sadie seems as insane as Frankie is. I feel like their destructive brand of crazy should be contained and feel better about the emotional health of the women of Glasgow with them focusing their crazy on each other. Also, they should have lots more sex scenes.
And now it is late and I must sleep ... *sigh* Why is it not the weekend yet?

Date: 2010-10-21 04:18 am (UTC)I don't really care about Frankie,i think I'm getting tired of her craziness,i don't know...maybe she reminds me The L Word or something~~She and Sadie can be crazy together and leave other sane people alone~~that's more interesting than she shagging random people or messing with Cat~
Sam grew on me,i don't usually dig this type of woman, but she's funny and really really good for Cat after all this shit Cat's been through~~oh,and the sex, she's a natural,i mean compare to Frankie, does anybody notice that Frankie's sex scene always looks kinda awkward, the way she moves,i think it's too much you know~~~

Date: 2010-10-21 04:33 am (UTC)I have to admit, there was a moment with Lou and Tess where my jaw dropped. Man, if BBC America ever picks up this series that's going to get cut real quick.
Frankie, enh, too much acting out, though her uncle is horrible.

Date: 2010-10-21 06:20 am (UTC)Sadie looked cool when she was 'getting' books, less so once she started 'getting' Frankie & co's stuff. That's why you shouldn't hit on thieves, Frankie.
Frankie is hot and I'm not a big fan of Sam but I'd rather ship Cat with Sam.

I wish I were a TV character, they have so much free time, I'm sick of studying.
Thanks again for the link! Much appreciated :)

Date: 2010-10-22 08:31 pm (UTC)This. After that first scene of them together and the 'went out for drinks' reveal I was really thinking that Lou was playing Tess, but her tearful breakdown and the consequent making out and sexing made me love her. Plus, I love that she was amused by Tess doing the interview instead of being upset about it. Tess deserves someone who appreciates how funny she is!
And yeah, I'm kind of interested in seeing just how crazy Frankie and Sadie will be together, but Frankie has so much crazy that it is still going to keep exploding all over other people (namely Cat).
I appreciate Sam. It's strange, sometimes I'm like "Rawr" (i.e. in the scene in the interrogation room I thought Sam was hot hot sex) and other times I'm like "meh", but she's funny, sweet and she treats Cat with respect so I'm onboard with the two of them.
i mean compare to Frankie, does anybody notice that Frankie's sex scene always looks kinda awkward
I think part of that is that Ruta Gedmintas is tall, in some cases much taller than her costars so she has to like bend down which makes things look a little awkward. I enjoy the Frankie sex scenes (I just hope they keep them out of morgue's from now on).

Date: 2010-10-22 08:36 pm (UTC)Word. She was so high strung last episode it was hard to sympathize with her. Lucky this weeks episode allowed Laura Fraser's natural adorableness to shine through. When Frankie isn't dropping angst-bombs on Cat she's pretty cool ... and tidy ;)
I have to admit, there was a moment with Lou and Tess where my jaw dropped. Man, if BBC America ever picks up this series that's going to get cut real quick.
LOL! I know, right. Poor BBC America watchers. They won't know what awesomeness they're missing.
Frankie is a pull no doubt, but my boggling attraction to her makes her scenes tolerable for me. And if her uncle has been like that to her her whole life, I can definitely see how she got as messed up as she is.

Date: 2010-10-22 08:39 pm (UTC)I'm definitely on Team Lou now. For most of the episode I was giving her some serious side eye because she seemed like she was just fucking with Tess, but her breakdown scene really gave me some sympathy for her. Now, I'm fully pulling for these two!
That whole scene in the bookstore was really cool and sexy. I actually liked them in the cafe as well. Frankie totally got what was coming to her though. I just feel bad for her friends girlfriend getting her shit stolen because Frankie's a ho.
I'm shipping Cat with Sam until Frankie gets her shit together. When Cat and Frankie are being playful their chemistry is CRAZY, but too much of their interactions are angst-filled right now. Cat/Sam for the present, Cat/Frankie in the end is what I'm hoping for.

Date: 2010-10-22 08:42 pm (UTC)That's often the best way to go into something. Luckily I had extremely low expectations going into it because of the comparisons to the L Word which was abysmal, so when it was decent I was ridiculously happy. Now, I'm just sitting back and waiting to see what they have in store.

Date: 2010-10-22 08:47 pm (UTC)Lady!Cop's sense of humor always surprises me because she's so stoic seeming, but it delights me.
but guyfriend being in love with her is really sad because... he's in love with a lesbian and that sucks hardcore for him
This, so much. In the pilot it was really awful to watch him pining for her. This isn't the L Word so I probably don't have to worry, but I'm so scared that they'll actually have Tess and Ed hook-up. I just ... please, not on this show. Frankie's a confirmed bisexual so when she hooks up with a dude I'll be like, "Whatev, get it gurl," but please show, please just leave the lesbians, lesbians.
Also, I'm down for Frankie/Sadie too. I want them to be dysfunctional together, but oddly really, really happy.
God, I would love it if their unique brands of crazy totally complimented each other and they became a couple. They'll just keep on creating drama that they can then wallow in together ... naked. Like Sadie stealing Frankie's phone or whatever so that Frankie will have to track her down ... totally the sort of shenanigan that Frankie will admire.

Date: 2010-10-22 08:48 pm (UTC)This. So much. Her sex scenes are hot, and she's hilarious. I'm sold. Honestly, that interview that she did, I was laughing so hard I had to pause the episode so that I didn't miss any of it. Oh, Tess. I heart thee so.

Date: 2010-10-22 08:51 pm (UTC)lol! I totally get that. I am mystifyingly attracted to Frankie so I watch her scenes so that I can drool over that amazonian goddess Ruta Gedmintas, but Frankie is a total pill. Ruta is a good enough actress that I occasionally do feel sorry for Frankie (though when she's mean to Cat I just want to kill her ... in the face). Shane on the other hand I found completely useless.
But yeah ... I'm so glad this show is good! I didn't realize how badly I needed a show like this to exist and be GOOD until I watched the pilot.

Date: 2010-10-22 08:55 pm (UTC)Word. Kudos to everyone involved in the show for making the characters so real in just two episodes. Hell, but the end of the pilot I was really invested in them. I even like (well, not like really, but am interested in Frankie).
I wouldn't take her out in public, but I would def take her! Still hot and hipster, love it!
lol! I wish that all of Frankie's scenes could be like that bookstore stalking scene and the cafe flirtation. Just Frankie being the hot hipster fuck that she is, without the temper tantrums and asshole behavior that often make me want to slap her.
I wish I were a TV character, they have so much free time, I'm sick of studying.
IKR! *sigh* TV is also so much better lit than real life!
