Three 2 Five Questions with Zoie Palmer

My love of Dr. Lauren is well-documented, but now I have to officially come out as a lover of Zoie Palmer as well.  She is adorable.  I suspected as much because of how much she makes me love Lauren, but it was so pleasant to get confirmation of her gorgeousness and gorgeosity.

Wherein Zoie wears a scarf and talks about:

- Soups and unrecognizable stews
- How she's a good memorizer (tm Zoie Palmer)
- How she works sometimes because she remembers lines and other people don't (lol)
- The hard life of doctor's office receptionists
- "Take on Me" by A-Ha
- What type of role she wouldn't want to play (she was way too adorable answering this question considering the nature of her answer)

 

In conclusion ... Zoie Palmer is love.

Oh my gosh, as if playing Dr. Lauren wasn't enough to make me love her, she has to go and be adorkable too. It amuses me to no end how serious she takes each question. And I love that Take on Me video! I remember when I was little, if that music video came on, I would drop everything I was doing to watch it.

Oh Zoie, please be in season two.

Adorkable is such a good word to describe her. And I swooned for her in all her adorkable glory.

It amuses me to no end how serious she takes each question.

I thought this was really cute too. So often you don't see people actually stop and think before they speak. Also, her 'serious thinking face' is just precious.

And, it does seem like she is going to be in season 2 so we'll have more Zoie to look forward to :D

Oh, that *was* adorable, thanks for sharing it. I love that she didn't just give one-note, for-a-laugh answers, but really considered her responses. And "'Take On Me' by A-ha"! That was an instant answer, and therefore so totally honest and dorky, and in that spirit, let me admit I loved that video as a kid, and when the pep band plays that when we go to the women's college basketball games, my partner and I can't help ourselves singing along and hurting ourselves on those high notes. :D

Speaking of music, why does the music for this video sound so familiar? Familiar but unknown to me - is it possible it's also in Tabrett Bethell's movie, Anyone You Want?

This! I'm sometimes so scared to watch interviews with actors I like in case they are boring or come across like asshats, but I'm so happy that Zoie is as cool and cute as I hoped she'd be.

Do you know what I love the most about her? So far I've seen her as Patsy in "Instant star", Carly in "The guard" and Lauren. And I've fallen for EACH OF THEM.

For Lauren, she had me with her lingering hand on Anna Silk/Bo's back. First second : the hand examines, next second : the hand caresses, last second : the hand leaves the body with regret, fingers still trying to reach for the skin. All is said...

I'm definitely going to have to check out "The Guard". I just saw an ET interview she did for the show and after I just about died from how adorable she is ("One thing I learned about wetsuits? You can pee in them." LOL) is that the show looked pretty good.

For Lauren, she had me with her lingering hand on Anna Silk/Bo's back.

That really was a brilliant introduction to the character. I loved how knowledgeable yet vulnerable Lauren came across in that scene. Not to mention the simmering sensuality Zoie managed to exude. Honestly, I don't know how people can see Lauren as cold. She's controlled, but Zoie has always managed to make her simmer with passion just beneath the surface. She someone really manages to convey all of the things Lauren holds back from saying through her body language and facial expressions.

[The Guard] the show looked pretty good.

It is. Good writing (much better than Lost Girl on that point), it really focuses of the characters life more than on the Life Guard action scenes. Not all plots are original, but they are solid. Plus, in season 2, there's an ep. totally focusing on Zoie's character, where she's cutter than ever, and so tomboyish than you can't help giggling.

I loved how knowledgeable yet vulnerable Lauren came across in that scene.

Lauren is never ashamed of her attraction, just... shy. It's so good to see a character who's not agressive or arrogant with sexuality, and vulnerable without being weak.

Honestly, I don't know how people can see Lauren as cold.
I don't get it either. First : she cares, she listens, she helps. How "cold" could that be? Then, just look at her eyes, look how she reacts : she exudes more desire and longing for Bo than Dyson ever did. I think people confuse cold and mature in this case. Lauren takes time to think and act professional and mature.

Not to mention the simmering sensuality Zoie managed to exude.
YES. YES. YES. She's so achingly beautiful when she does that.

Sensuality is definitely a keyword of her acting. Many things have been said about the Bo/Lauren love scene. Some think it was "too sweet" or "too cute". Sure it was very classic, but for me what gives it its intensity is Zoie. Not a word, but such a presence. I definitively love when Lauren rolls over Bo when they're in bed and how she leans on her. She completely wraps her up with her body, it's flesh on flesh, it's so carnal.
