Date: 2012-09-20 08:47 pm (UTC)I like Nora, honestly I do, and I loved her with Salome (I'm still pissed that we never got to see Nora mourn her death and I doubt that we'll get to see it in season 6. They were fucking crazy, but they were so sweet with each other, they gave my heart fuzzy happy feelings). I don't think Nora would be too impressed with Tamela though. She seems to already dislike Pam (probably because Pam's the only female on the planet that could rival her for Eric's affections even if its in a different way), and Tara is clearly not impressed with Nora, so I'm guessing things between the three of them would be tense. I could see Nora huffing and rolling her eyes a lot and muttering comments under her breath.
A Norome read on that though could be that Nora is jealous/sad seeing such wonderful sapphic love while her own lady love is now a pile of goo thanks to

Also, if you were so inclined, you could do a tragedy/angst fic, with Nora grieving in her room while hearing Pamel and Tara having hot sex and being all lovey-dovey, ad her grief on the background of that being even worse.
Meanwhile, did you Sugarpova? What did you think?
In other matters, I don't have much time with my new job and all, but I've read a brilliant TophZula fic, am working on finding more Puella Magi Madoka Magica fics, still going strong with Sailor Moon, and am all about Arianne having orgies. Please tell me you've seen Oberyn in Storm of Swords by now, and realize the utter hotness of the Dornish.

I still haven't read book 3. It was a goal for the summer than I completely failed at, and now that I'm back at work who knows what will happen. If/when this current True Blood obsession dies down I'll try to get on it. I want to see the Dornish, I do! Those books are so big though that I need to motivate myself before I start reading another one lol.

Date: 2012-09-20 08:57 pm (UTC)Okay, so I have been a bad, bad reader just recently, and read all this lovely fic and not commented. Being woefully behind the times, I didn't find out what happened this season until very recently. However! Now that I have, may I say how much I love these fics? It's always awesome when you get yourself a new fandom/pairing,fembuck, 'cause awesome fic then results. And speaking of... well, that cliff-hanger is mean, but I await the second part with bated breath.
Those two are just... aww. Having seen the highlights through the wonders of youtube, I gotta say they made me believe and root for a pairing that I would not have expected to ever become cannon (what with the only interactions I've seen involving death threats and whatnot) but kind of adore now that they have. Pam as a Maker! Pam not being able to be a bad Maker, despite thinking she could just walk away at the beginning! Bitch-fests turning into concern and random eye-shagging! Tara staying... herself... even when faced with someone who -can- command her obedience -and- coming to the damn rescue for an encore! Yes, it's a given that they'll fuck it up next season - no relationship is allowed to be actually happy for long in the Land of Great Drama - but let us enjoy our dreams. Also, Tara-Jessica friendship? Cute as hell and for the win. Great to see Jess being the teen she is, but not a brat. (She seems so happy she can help somebody else in her situation). After The Kiss, I actually gave Sookie momentary props for her casual, 'Oh. Okay.' reaction, but Jessica's was classic.
Uh... the fic. Yes, the fic! I don't say this often but, go Eric! Given how well he knows her, it would indeed be impossible for him not to tease Pam. But, given that she is one of the few that he genuinely cares about, it would be equally impossible for him not to be at least a little bit happy for her - even being as cynical and ruthlessly practical as they both are. Pam wouldn't be Pam if she wasn't stylish, effortlessly snarky, direct as a two by four to the skull, and possessing all the patience of a hyperactive toddler. And yet... -feeelings-! (And not just lust-y ones either). And Tara -maybe- getting more good things happening to her undead than alive (though still snarking like a trooper)...Aand I'm gonna stop going on.
Ahem. In summary: Awesome. Thank you. More, please?

In theory, based on their personalities, I'd always thought that Pam and Tara would be an interesting pairing, but especially after season 4 I thought that there was no way that it would happen, even with Tara embracing the lesbian love lol. So this season was like a dream come true, because Tara/Pam went from being a crack!ship that I thought didn't have a chance in hell, to being a beautifully subtextual relationship that SHOULD happen, to actually happening and I was like "WHAT? THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO ME BEFORE! I LOVE THIS!" Shipping things that become canon is awesome! lol
And whether it's right or wrong, the fact that the show made them canon and that they developed their relationship so wonderfully this season, AND that they surprised me and impressed me with how the kiss went (it was much more epic and romantic than I thought it would be) and then how accepting and flirty they were afterward, I'm gonna give the show the benefit of the doubt for Season 6. Obviously, everything isn't going to be smooth sailing for them, and I fully expect to the see the monkey-wrench(es) Alan Ball mentioned thrown at them, but I'm confident that Tamela is going to be a long-term relationship (especially as the show is on season 6 now AND they are maker and progeny, which is an important relationship that the show has emphasized over and over again), so I can deal with the angst/monkey-wrenches since I know they'll work it out and the make-up/reunion scenes will probably be epically awesome!
I just honestly want really good things to happen for Tara and Pam (her backstory was tragic and filled me with feels), and they really are perfectly suited for each other. Their personalities are really just want the other needs (and wants). Once Pam is on your side she is the loyalist person you could dream of and Tara I think has really always longed to be someone's #1, to have someone willing to throw themselves in front of a gun for her like she did for Sookie. And Pam is so snarky and reticent that she needs someone with a strong personality to fight through the walls she puts up, and Tara is strong enough to do that. They understand each others rough edges and what lies beneath their individual brands of bitchiness lol.
Okay, I need to stop typing at you, this is becoming an essay so ... thank you so much for commenting and the second part of "Date Night" is up and ready to be read!
