Okay, so busiest week ever! (Until exams I guess, then like sleep will be but a pleasant memory to me). Anywhoo, at least I had "Alias" to rejuvenate me to make it through today!
Good episode. I don't care what anyone else says! I lurved it. First of all the LesYAY was off the radar and coming in so many directions I almost got whiplash! Also, it was hilarious! Rachel in the field is the funniest, cutest (and hottest) thing ever. She was so cute talking to Syd over the comms and in their little 'getting dressed' flashback scene thingie. Also Rachel running from danger was the best. I was like 'she's just like normal people!' Seriously, I was howling at that scene, and the look on Nichols face before the mad dash just slayed me!
But, I'm tired from work right now, so instead of continuing with my usual rambling, I'm gonna post other people's ramblings that pretty much sum up how I feel! *stretches, ah yes it is good to be lazy *The following quotes are taken from TWoP Forums - 5-6: 'Solo' 2005.11.10". The Sachel
Rachel lurves Syd, ya'll. And, apparently, Peyton always wanted some RaMandy ass too.
-needsleep05
So much HoYay (LesYay??) in this ep, with all the comparisons made between Syd's role in Rachel's life and Vaughn's role in Syd's.
-appletree
But holy cow, to me they are still milking the HoYay -- for instance, when she tells Syd, "I'm so glad I have you," or something like that, while gazing intently? She luuuuurves Syd.
-Paramitch
BUT...that said, damn if Rachel wasn't all kinds of hot last night. Maybe I'm a sucker for redheads of the slutty and non-slutty persuasion, but I loved all the closeups they had on her face. So damn pretty, and man, those lips...

The Funny
I was sure I'd hate Rachel forever. Hmm. Guess not! She's won me over too. I have no idea how that happened! Ray-Mandy. Awwwwww! I'm also loving the HoYay stuff between Syd and Rachel.
-Shasta
I officially like BlondieBoobs, if only because of the look on her face before she ran away from the guard and the fact that she thinks Jack is scary.
This episode had me cracking up all night, though I'm pretty much over the Vaughn references.
-IronicMouse
Finally, I got silly costumes, slutty costumes, bad accents, and funny wigs! Thank you Alias. How I missed your campy goodness.
Rachel hauling ass away from that guard was awesome. Made even more awesome by the fact that she, ever so quickly, considered trying to fight the dude and decide to run instead. I officially loved the character after that.

Having read that recent interview with Rachel Nichols, I laughed heartily when she met up with the big guy and simply turned and ran. She said that was going to be her character's thing. And I buy it more than her suddenly becoming WonderSpy. (why they even give her field work, though, I can't...ugh...don't get me started).
-kicking57
I actually sort of liked the whole scenario with Rachel's family, although couldn't they have cast some better actors for those parts? Good LUUURD those were some bad acting Aryans.
-appletree
And Rachel really is apparently turning into the next Syd because:
-- she's constantly crying.
-- she's constantly talking on Comms right in front of the bad guys.
-- she unintentionally put her family in danger.
-- she looks good in slutty clothes.
-- she's got the hots for her handler.

The Peyton
Duuuude, did Peyton really look Rachel up and down and say, "I always did like you.."? Hellooo LesYaY!
-JJforLife47
I enjoyed this one! Really! Rachel's fighting needs some serious work, but I respect her quick use of the awesome Flinkman hairbrush/icepick, 'specially since Peyton was gonna plug her anyways. Nice "WTF?" look from Acker after wussy Rachel tackled her away from the hail of bullets, and then that bold leap from the oil rig - I like her style. She don't mess about.
-Sally4th
I kind of got Amy Acker's line "Let's say we both play for different teams." as a clue to Rachel being into chicks.

Date: 2005-11-12 03:20 am (UTC)I can't wait to have some more fuel to go off of for a little Sachel fic I'm a workin' on. And Amy Acker is so delish, that I'm sure once I see 'Solo', I'll be inspired to write me some Rayton. Tehe.
