They keep killing Suzie ...

But I really wish they wouldn't because Suzie rocks ... or should I say Indira Varma does. She really does, she rocks, she rocks the casbah!

I think this might be favorite episode of Torchwood overall so far. I know, I know blasphemy since this episode didn't have any girl kissing in it (and I love taht with Torchwood, you can be like "no girl kissing, what up wit dat?"), but it was just a very, very good episode.

Gwen didn't bug me for the first time in quite a few episodes, Ianto and Tosh actually had stuff to do, Jack was all mysterious, bad-ass and kinda gay ... and of course, Indira Varma rocked the Torchwood.

Suzie was so freaking dark and twisty (and emo - yeah, yeah Suzie, nobody likes you, everybody hates you CAUSE YOU'RE INSANE!), but compellingly so. She creeped me out but fascinated me at the same time. The way Indira portrayed her madness was really intoxicating and I keep on wanting Suzie to keep on living, to make that ferry boat, to live. When they got to the harbour and she was carrying Gwen trying to get them both to the boat and a new life, I really wanted those two crazy kids to make it (even though I knew it was insane because Suzie was slowly killing her yachting buddy). Plus, she looked so radiant and full of life at the end of the dock, that it really jarred me when Jack shot her, and then shot her again, and again, and again. Despite what she had done it seemed cruel. And then she made with the psychotic smirking and taunting, and she became this undying creature of pure evil once more ... and that's some good acting right there!

I know Suzie is a complete nutter and couldn't stay around, but I will forever curse the series that they got rid of Varma in the first episode, and then proceeded to tease me with her casbah rocking ways this episode only to take her away again. *tear*

Also, playing Lamb's "Gorecki" at the end, brilliant. Loved it! Perfect beautifully melancholy ending.

As well, because Tosh totally didn't want to be around to see Suzie's resurrection, and then refused to look at her when they were monitoring the gang in the field, I'm going to fanwank that they were totally co-workers with benefits (especially since Tosh seems to like her bed buddies slightly irritating, self-centered, ass-holish, and morally questionable).

Suzie was great. Totally creepy and morally questionable, just what this series needs. I do hope they find a way to bring her back in series two - there is a second glove after all - because she'd totally mess with all their minds.

I loved how she pulled the plug on her dad.

Jack and Ianto was so gay for each other this episode.

I know! She totally breathed a spark of life into the show. I liked last week, but after "Countrycide" I was starting to feel very 'meh' about it. But I was totally into it this week. I thought it was hilarious how Suzie was going on about how great Gwen was (especially since Gwen was pretty effing dumb this episode) when I would've traded Gwen for her in a second.

I do hope they find a way to bring her back in series two - there is a second glove after all - because she'd totally mess with all their minds.

Oooh, yeah. Ianto's ominous comment was almost lost admist the rampant gay of that banter. I would love it if she were to be brought back by the other glove and became like a big bad that would pop up to mess their "mental minds", and screw with them out of revenge (maybe kidnapping Tosh and seeing what they would do to save her, while angsting and making passionate emo speeches about how they never would have done that for her - oh Suzie!).

I loved how she pulled the plug on her dad.

Yeah! I loved how her wanting to see her dad was like the thing that was making you think she wasn't all bad throughout the episode. Like if she loves her dying father there must be something human in her. And then she totally just wanted to see him to have the pleasure of killing him herself. Oh Suzie! But now I want to know what her past was like, did her dad abuse her mom whom she seemed to love, did he abuse her, was she always scheming ways to kill him painfully with Torchwood loot?

Jack and Ianto was so gay for each other this episode.

Totally. And while Ianto might not be exactly an acrobat ... with a twin, I'm pretty sure he's ... flexible shall we say.

I just love how bi everyone on this show is, and how it's like not even a concern or blink worthy to anyone.

Still, *sigh* Indira Varma, always on shows with the gay, but never the gay herself.

They'll be bringing back the glove. TPTB apparentlly love the idea of it. Search in YouTube for "Torchwood Declassified" for each episode commentary. I'm getting to love this show with all the gay! gay! gay! Plus, accents are hot. Though Owen is ugly and could do with disappearing. Can they switch him with Suzie .. as in Owen's screw-everyone character in Suzie's body?

I just hope they bring Suzie along with it! Although I do enjoy the general crazy the glove seems to bring out in people.

I was excited, then around 1x06 with Countrycide was less than thrilled, but now it's getting better and I'm excited again. Plus, the gay. Really, I can't give up on show that is this progressive with the sexuality of its main characters, Torchwood needs to succeed so that it'll become a trend! And yes, British accents are hot.

Though Owen is ugly and could do with disappearing. Can they switch him with Suzie .. as in Owen's screw-everyone character in Suzie's body?

Owen bothers me so much. I mean he's weird looking, but whatever. It's just his personality is so loathsome that I can't fathom anyone being attracted to him. It just bugs me that all of the chicks on the show have had a thing with or for Owen, because it's like WHYYYYYY? Jack I could totally understand, charming, good-looking, man of mystery and all, but Owen? *claws and hisses*

Dude, Owen in Suzie's body screwing everyone is like the greatest idea ever. Suzie makes bitchy and kinda crazy hot!

Torchwood (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0485301/), it's a Doctor Who spin-off series that started a few months ago. It got off to a bit of a bumpy start, and I only kept watching it because of the rampant gay (all of the main characters are bi and have had same-sex kisses or relationships), though with last weeks episode, and this weeks its actually starting to be a genuinely decent show, lol.

I'm about to pass out from exhaustion now, but I'll see if I can upload some episodes and pass the links along!

I also liked this episode as well. What wasn't quite spelled out was why Suzie wanted to kill her father in the first place?

Did you also catch the idea that there's nothing beyond death? Suzie and that first guy Gwen saw back in the first episode both said there's nothing out there. So, basically, the life we have here is the only one we have...or that's what I think the writers are trying to say.

But yeah, I first saw Varma in 'Rome' and thought she was hot as well.

heh - must be behind on my fan-vocabulary...had to look up 'Fanwank'. ;-P

I know. I curious about this as well (bring back Suzie!) He was probably abusive to her and her mother, like a deadbeat drunk or something that she blames for messing her up and screwing up her life, though I wouldn't put it past this show to make it something more disturbing.

Did you also catch the idea that there's nothing beyond death?
Or at least nothing good (she did later say that there was something out there moving). Her description of the nothing was certainly chilling though, and if that true you can see why she'd be so desperate to cling onto life anyway possible.

But yeah, I first saw Varma in 'Rome' and thought she was hot as well.

Yeah, she was stunning as Niobe. Too bad she's dead on that show now too. *sigh* Still, Rome isn't hurting for hotness (hello, Atia, Octavia and Servilia - yes that's right, I put Servilia on my hot list! lol)

One thing that threw me off about Suzie's father was that the picture Tosh found in that storehouse that showed her and her father and they looked okay in it. Maybe it was something else...?

As to Jack...there's still a lot we don't know. How he went from 25000 AD back to 1911 and so on. Did he know it was Rose who brought him back? Grrr! They better give some answers...

Okay, I'll grant you Servilila is hot, but only because she completely got revenge on Atia...and there's certainly nothing more erotic than a vengeful and powerful woman. ;-)

Gwen is starting to piss me off with how "fweey" she's suddenly become. It's like what they did to Rose in the second season of Who--she was really not herself--more like trying to be a female version of crazed 10. Bugged the crap outta me! And omgzzz. Ianto. Uhaa. I/O!
