I will say this for the Resident Evil movie franchise, they put out freaking kick-ass trailers for their movies. I absolutely love the beginning of this trailer, and the transition from the introduction to the kick-ass clips is beautiful. Then again, Milla Jovovich kicking ass is a beautiful thing, even with a bad hair cut. Also, I spotted La Larter in there looking gorgeous, kinda red-headed, and kicking butt in some bad-ass shades. I like that Claire seems like she'll be a saner version of Jessica, cause I loves me some Jessica. Plus, Milla Jovovich has chemistry with everyone, so there should be some good femslash potential between those two (Larter can save the self-love for Heroes)

I didn't even know Later was in the new RE.
I had heard about it but forgotten. Larter was kind of off my radar before "Heroes" but now that I'm a total Larter fangirl I'm completely jazzed that she's in it and looking forward to seeing her on the big screen.
I was kinda disappointed with the second movie and wasn't planing on watching the new one, but with that cast, I'll definitly give it a try ^^
Yeah, I liked the first one. It wasn't like award winning cinema but I thought it was one of the best video game movies I'd seen. I wasn't too impressed with the second one though. I mean they managed to make Sandrine Holt look frumpy and that's just wrong! I kinda loved Jill Valentine though, which helped, but really the cast commentary is the best thing about it.

Date: 2007-02-21 01:07 pm (UTC)This looks like another winner in the bad movie with hot girls kicking ass category, which my friends will mock me for watching.
Let's hope that with Russell Mulcahy directing, it will at least look pretty.

lol. Hot girls kicking ass in a supernatural setting will get me to see almost any movie. Luckily at least a couple of my friends also have the same weakness so the mocking is lesser than it would otherwise be.

You can't really tell much from trailer's but I thought it looked pretty good, and with the desert setting I'm looking forward to some wicked visuals, and maybe a different kind of energy than Anderson brought when directing which will liven the franchise up again. But, again, pretty girls weilding knives and shotguns means I'll be there ;)

Date: 2007-02-21 09:06 pm (UTC)And that is why I love Milla Jovovich. Cause she likes to rotate her bitches for maximum effect. Seriously though, it's nice that she isn't worried about her babe credit being in jeopardy or whatever and therefore has other female characters banned from the franchise. Milla's all about the girl power and that rocks.

Oooooh, Nessica! Awesome *goes off to read*

Date: 2007-02-21 09:11 pm (UTC)Totally there with you.
There's just one thing that irks me: Claire is 19. I know that this movie is set in the future but I think Ali Larter is too old to play her. I loves The Larter I does, but I'm not sure she can pull it off.
I don't really know much about the games, so Larter's age doesn't bother me too much, although I can see how it would be irksome. Cause, yeah although she looks great she's long past being able to play teenagers. All I can think it that they needed someone in Milla's age range to play opposite her for some reason, like Claire will be a foil for Alice or something, but it might just be stupid Hollywood casting. But I'll get to stare at La Larter on screen for an hour and a half so I can't get too worked up, lol.
I'll just have to spend my money and go see it. 'Tis such a big sacrifice I must say ;)
You truly are a goddess among mortals. *raucous applause* ;)

Date: 2007-02-21 09:22 pm (UTC)One of the points (I think) of RE2 was that yes she is just a teenager, but she's looking for her brother and she can take care of herself in a zombie infested town, she didn't need Leon's help all that much (or Sherry's but that's another matter all together).
I think it may be a bit of both. I think it's just be stupid Hollywood casting mostly though, lol.
Totally with you on that. My popcorn bucket can double as a drool catcher, lol. Ewwww, soggy popcorn.
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. I'm touched. I won't cry. I WON'T CRY. *tears up* DAMNIT I SAID I WON'T CRY.

Date: 2007-02-21 09:24 pm (UTC)I noes! It's just mean to tease us with it now. They're all like "you want it? you want it? Okay, you can have it ... in September *cue manical laughter*"
Post-apocalyptic zombie movie with hot chicks making out kicking ass? It's like Paul Anderson has looked into my soul, seen my deepest desires (Resident Evil/DOA) and put them onscreen!
LOL. I couldn't agree with you more. Other than actually having Claire and Alice make out, and maybe giving me a Claire in her underwear shot much like how we were introduced to Niki on Heroes, they couldn't have created a movie more tailored to my desires!
He's Uwe Boll with a sense of humor!
lol. Paul's no Spielberg, but his movies are at least watchable. Like I actually really enjoy the first RE, and I survived the second one without curling into a fetal position and muttering, "is it over yet? Is it over yet? Oh, dear god why isn't it over yet?" which is how viewing Boll movies seems to go.
The best part is that I'm already anticipating the DVD commentary for this movie. Milla, Oded (proven comic duo), and Ali (she better be on it), Paul trying to get a word in edge-wise, it's gotta be good times.
