The new 'Bionic Woman' preview
Plot: Struggling as a bartender and surrogate mom to her teen-aged sister, Jaime Sommers didn't think life could get much harder. But when a devastating car accident leaves her at death's door, Jaime's only hope of survival is through a cutting-edge, top-secret technology that comes at a hefty price.
With a whole new existence and a debt to repay, Jaime must figure out how to use her extraordinary abilities for good, while weighing the personal sacrifices she will have to make. Ultimately, it's Jaime's journey of self-discovery and inner strength that will help her embrace her new life as...The Bionic Woman.
Preview Comments: The editing for the preview is kind of cheesy at points, but despite that the show actually looks pretty cool. I can't help but make a "Michelle Ryan is no Lindsey Wagner" comment (although in Ryan's defenseit's hard to be as hot as the Wagner ... see *fondly remembers teenage girl!crush*) but she looks like she can be pretty bad-ass, and she does an awesome 'almost cry'.
Plus, Katee 'motherfrakking' Sackhoff shows up in the trailer as Jaime's nemsis, the first bionic woman. And in true 'motherfrakking' Sackhoff style, she manages to make the "ta-da" completely awesome!
They show also stars, Miguel Ferrer, Molly Price, Mark "Badger/Romo Lampkin" Shepard, and Mae "Anne Beal" Whitman doing a very good, as Joy from "My Name as Earl" would put it, "deaf accent".
All in all, this show looks like it might not suck elephant cock (yeah, I'm looking at you PKJ! Getting my hopes up only to stab me in the heart every week!!!)

Date: 2007-05-16 08:22 pm (UTC)Totally agree. Mopey people with awesome powers bug. I'm slightly comforted by the fact that Jaime was all "I'm awesome, what are you going to do about it, bitch?" while still confined cause it hints that she starts to embrace the power early on, and the fact that she starts training herself in the pilot also makes me think that she'll probably be a bit proactive. There was a fair about of 'almost-cry' faces, and Lifetime movie angst hinted at though, but hopefully they just played that up for the preview and its not a HUGE component of her character.
