... just got a little better after watching Gossip Girl and Damages.
Oh GG, how I love thee. I've always been kind of 'meh' on Leighton Meester, but after watching this weeks GG I love her! She's so fabulously douchey and wonderful as Blair. Seriously, Blair greeting Jenny in her see-through white robe and micro nightgown, and then inviting Jenny upstairs to 'help her change', her ass in Jenny's face the whole time they were going up the stairs only to then prance around Jenny in her frilly underwear, before lounging seductively on her bed while seducing Jenny over to the dark-side was such good fun. Not to mention the fact that she left Serena staring after her longingly as she ascended the stairs in her see-through robe a scene earlier. Honestly, Serena looked broken hearted, and really if Blair decided that she wasn't going to snuggle with me on the couch and watch Breakfast at Tiffany's while we ate croissants like we always used to, I'd be pretty broken hearted too. Note to Blake: Gay it up, Leighton's stealing your shocking pink thunder!
All in all, episode two of GG was far more entertaining than the pilot and I'm looking forward to next week. Kelly Rutherford doing her best impression of Julie Cooper was also awesome. I do love my fabulously bitchy women.
Damages also started out in the most deliciously gay way as well. I always kind of shipped Ellen/Patty, they totally remind me of a TV version of Miranda/Andy (only I think Patty Hewes might actually be MORE devious than Miranda Priestly, which is quite an accomplishment), so the episode opening with Ellen and Patty sitting closely together on Patty's small couch as Ellen looks over at her tenderly was the bestest.
Patty: He called off the engagement?
Ellen: (gazing over at Patty) Maybe we went to far. (slight pause and more gazing) Do you regret what we did?
Don't be silly Ellen, she could never regret making sweet love to you! The only thing she could regret is that it took you both so long to realize how you felt about each other.
In all seriousness though, this show continues to rock. Glenn Close is brilliant, and I'm liking that Rose Byrne is getting a bit more to do with Ellen now. I have to say that I really want to know what's going to happen though. Stop teasing me Damages, no more foreplay!
And on a final note, I'm now completely hooked on The Devil Wears Prada Miranda/Andy fic. I've been gorging myself on it and I cannot get enough. I've even watched the movie again twice now since reading
thelastgoodname's When in Doubt, Wear Red. The obsession is so sweet, but I'm going into withdrawal now. I need moar!
Edited: Because I forgot to mention that I also really liked the Dirty Sexy Money pilot. "I hate you!", lol. That was a fun first episode. "I had aaaaa scotch!" oh, Karen. I already love Jeremy, Karen, Juliet and think that the storyline with Billy Baldwin and his transgender lover, Carmletia, is sweet (*loves Candis Cayne*)

Date: 2007-09-28 02:03 am (UTC)I prefer Emily/Andy
granted, I've only read one fic for them, but it was damn good and there wasn't a million year age gap in there
what channel is GG on anyway?
and dammit, I missed bionic woman last night, though heard it sucked anyway so.. yeah
hope GG ain't on wednesdays though, cuz that's my criminal minds night... *Babbling*

Date: 2007-09-28 02:09 am (UTC)Emily/Andy was actually the pairing I first was drawn to in DWP fandom, but I'm now a strong Miranda/Andy shipper. Though I wouldn't turn my nose up at Andy/Emily fic, or even Emily/Miranda (though I kind of like that best unrequited).
damn good and there wasn't a million year age gap in there
lol! I like the age gap, I think it's kind of hot. Also, Meryl was looking ridiculously hot in that movie, so I can buy a pretty young thing like Andy wanting to tap that. But I can see how the lack of May-December could make Emily/Andy appeal more, and they do have a similar hate-lust relationship.
what channel is GG on anyway?
Um, I think it airs on CTV in Canada. But it's a CW network show.
and dammit, I missed bionic woman last night, though heard it sucked anyway so.. yeah
I liked the unaired pilot well enough, I thought it had potential. I only watched bits and pieces of the real pilot though. I have to say, I hate the recast on the sister. I don't like the idea of the sister character much, but if they had to have her Mae Whitman and the original take on the character were much better than the new version. I'm going to continue checking it out for a while, though.

Date: 2007-09-28 12:46 pm (UTC)I do so love the adversaries turned lovers angle ^_^
she has a sister?
wow.. perhaps I shoudl wiki bionic woman because all I really know is that she runs fast

Date: 2007-09-29 12:25 am (UTC)Well, in the new version she does (and I wish she didn't).
She also had kung fu downloaded into her brain which is awesome as well. And in addition to running really fast, she has super hearing, one enhanced super eye, and a super arm.
She's pretty badass

Date: 2007-09-29 01:23 am (UTC)according to the radiostation I heard discussing it they had the original Bio woman in there and they fought on the roof and overall he thought the show needs more terminator esque shite in there *shrugs*
frankly I just want fic possibilities... however, I shall eagerly await The sarah connor chronicles instead and just read fic for BW

Date: 2007-09-28 02:50 am (UTC)Oh my god, I was SO totally thinking that. @_@ Except then Patty drove off crying, so then I'm like, maybe she completely regretted it? Naaaah.
Ellen slowly becoming more and more like Patty is just. So. Hot. I can't believe there are only 4 more eps left (or is it 3?)

Date: 2007-09-28 11:24 am (UTC)lol, I'm not alone! And how could you not. Everything about that scene screamed 'secret affair'! (or secret murder, but I like the affair option better) And I'm sure that she was freaking out at the beach house because she heard about the attack and couldn't believe that she had put her bb in such danger. Come back to New York, Patty! Ellen will forgive you, especially if they let you visit in the 'private' area.
Ellen slowly becoming more and more like Patty is just. So. Hot.
I know. Even though Rose Byrne was playing her, I wasn't lusting after Ellen in the beginning. But now that she's becoming Patty-ish and displaying an edge and cunning and deviousness I'm loving her. The two of them together could take over the world, and that's hot.
I can't believe there are only 4 more eps left (or is it 3?)
Ahhh, I've been in denial about this. I really hope that they wrap up the Frobisher storyline this season though, and maybe leave on a cliffhanger for the case for next season (it's doing well in the rating, so there's got to be a next season). I couldn't take not finding out what went on with this case by the end of the season, it would kill me.

Date: 2007-09-28 12:47 pm (UTC)Hahahahahah! I love it! XD
The two of them together could take over the world, and that's hot.
I know, right? The Miranda/Andy pairing that didn't happen in the fashion world happening in the legal world instead. I really had hopes for this after the first 2 episodes. And then all this OTHER CRAP happened argh. I need to find out what the hell came between them *cries*
You know, all I've read is that Glenn Close is only committed to a single season. I'd LOVE to see her come back and do a second one, but I just can't figure out how they'll do it without Patty meeting a terrible end, and I'm probably not going to watch if Glenn Close and/or Rose Byrne isn't on board, because I have to be honest, Glenn Close makes this series like Meryl Streep made Devil Wears Prada.
no subject
Date: 2007-09-29 12:30 am (UTC)And it's just as delicious. Honestly, the older woman/younger woman, mentor/mentored thing is hot, it's hot like fire. Addison should totally like get a young female doctor on the show so that we can make it a triangle of hotness.
You know, all I've read is that Glenn Close is only committed to a single season...I have to be honest, Glenn Close makes this series like Meryl Streep made Devil Wears Prada.
Damn, she's only signed up for one season. I gotta agree Patty Hewes/Glenn Close is like 50% of the reason I love this show. I don't know if I'd be able to watch it (or at least love it insanely) with her gone, even if they do keep Ellen around. *cries* Note to writers: If you do get rid of Patty, please let her get to/have sexed Ellen, or a least make it clear she had girl!lust for her, like you did with Molina and Fiske. Thank you.

Date: 2007-09-29 03:13 am (UTC)I mean, they could have at least played around with the sexual undercurrent between them but didn't have them consummate that would have been something. Patty touching Ellen, or them holding each others gazes for a bit too long, them standing a bit to close, or leaning over the others shoulders a bit too close, Patty using Ellen's infatuation to manipulate her would have been so awesome.

Date: 2007-09-29 03:59 am (UTC)*dies just thinking about it* It would have made Ellen and David's strained relationship all the more plausible. I mean, it's not just HIM who's losing interest - she is, too! Would also explain why David's so antagonistic to Patty the night they were invited over to her place for dinner.

Date: 2007-09-28 03:31 am (UTC)Also: the Patty-Ellen interactions are awesome. Glenn Close is pretty much the best thing on TV right now, and I knew Rose Byrne would make a great lesbian when I saw her in 28 Days Later.

Date: 2007-09-28 11:28 am (UTC)I want to, I want to. Going back to work has killed my brain power though. I'm floating some ideas around my head though. I've made a promise to myself that I will at least attempt a M/A fic, I love them too much not to.
the Patty-Ellen interactions are awesome.
I love how predatory Patty is. Every time she's around Ellen it's like she's three seconds away from jumping at her jugular, and Ellen's fear and fascination in the face of this is *purrs*
Glenn Close is pretty much the best thing on TV right now
Truer words were never spoken.
and I knew Rose Byrne would make a great lesbian when I saw her in 28 Days Later.
lol, I know. Scarlett was so gay
for Tammy. She was working the ponytail. I just wish she had survived so if they made another one she could have come back for it, and gone all commando chick for it.no subject

Date: 2007-09-28 11:35 am (UTC)I can't in good conscious really tell anyone to watch unless they like melodrama and relatively generically good looking twenty-something's. The second episode was soapily delicious though (Blair + That Outfit = totally worth the watch)
really don't like blake lively...she nearly ruined the sisterhood of the traveling pants, for me...and it's kinda sad to call a very bad mimicking of a bad actress *cough* mischa carton *cough*, acting
*crickets*
i know kristen bell doesn't have a show of her own anymore, but shit, she need a check that bad??
I think maybe she did, lol. When she got Heroes she must have been kicking herself in the pants for signing onto GG.
i do enjoy damages, and i'd like to go on record and say that patty makes miranda look like pollyanna dusted in confectionary sugar...glenn close is fuckin' scary man...
LOL! I know! Patty Hewes is the puppet master. I remember people joking that the dog was probably in on Molina's murder, because after all Patty Hewes bought it for Katie. She's like a hot, mostly well dressed (I have no idea what they were dressing her in last episode but I didn't love it), female, modern day version of Prof. Moriarty. I loved how fabulously evil (and funny) she was in Frobisher's dream (though I could have done without the desk scene afterwards, way to ruin Donna Murphy for me FOREVER FX!)

Date: 2007-09-28 11:39 am (UTC)I know, every time an episode ends I'm surprised and then angry because I want MOAR, I need MOAR! When this episode ended I actually stared at the blank screen for a couple seconds thinking "you've gotta be kidding me"!
The plot is so incredibly twisted, and now after this episode the relationship between Patty and Ellen has grown even more intriguing!!!
I really like most of the relationships and dynamics on this show, but Patty and Ellen is my number one and I love the way that things are developing between them. Patty was so right when she said Ellen was more ambitious than she realized. Seeing Ellen be groomed into a mini-Patty is awesome.
What could have possibly happened that they'd both regret? Hello? I can't wait till next week ... ♥
I know! It's gotta hurry up and be next week already. I can't take this suspense. All I have to say is that they better not stretch this Frobisher storyline into next season. I don't think I could handle a season break not knowing what happened.

Date: 2007-09-29 02:26 am (UTC)just for the images (I love you already for that pics) I just can say Serena+Blair= HOT ,But I'm always on blondes/brunettes ships so...btw check this clip:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=Xj5mnTttsUo
at 00:29 that stare it's priceless, also note the hand on the elbow *sigh*. And I still haven't watch GG, can you believe it? lol I already have the 2 first episodes though, waiting for me on my hard disk so I'll tell later if the show rocks or sucks (for me anyway)
I adsolutely LOVED Meryl Streep on DWP, loved her. She was like the soul of the movie or something. Neither I have anything against the age gap, but I like the Emily/Andrea pair more. I mean, I worship (sp?) Meryl Streep like an actress but that's it. Ms. Blunt on the other hand *dreamy look*. It's really bad the lack of fiction with them around. It's always happens that with my favs ships, like Claire/Nikki from Heroes i.e. *whispering* you should totally write a Clikki fic sometime ;)
Almost forgot, neither I liked the new sister on BW, she was even annoying on some parts. But the boyfriend got me more annoyed for some reason. Anyway the show isn't that good but I'll stay around just to see where they'd take it. Also the Sarah/Jamie thing seems promising *grins*

Date: 2007-09-29 03:04 am (UTC)Word, I totally love the Serena/Blair pairing, and the actresses totally have mad chemistry with each other. Blonde + Brunette is also very visually pleasing (and makes fic so much easier, lol)
btw check this clip: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Xj5mnTttsUo
Ah, thanks for gaying it up just like I asked Blake. LOL, honestly I loved the smirk and the little "come here sweet thing" motion. Honestly, the actresses have just as much chem as the characters. Also, it cracked me up how bored Leighton looked for most of the clip. I think she would have rather been doing other things with Blake *wink*
I already have the 2 first episodes though, waiting for me on my hard disk so I'll tell later if the show rocks or sucks (for me anyway)
If you don't like the pilot give the second episode a shot, because I found the second ep to be much better than the pilot. Plus, there's Blair being fabulously bitchy and prancing around half naked which is just good fun.
Neither I have anything against the age gap, but I like the Emily/Andrea pair more. I mean, I worship (sp?) Meryl Streep like an actress but that's it. Ms. Blunt on the other hand *dreamy look*
Oh, I'm completely in love with Emily Blunt. Ever since I saw "My Summer of Love" I have adored her. Miranda is probably the only role where I've found Meryl hot. I always think she's fabulous, but not so much with the hot. M/A is kind of an underdog pairing for me, in that usually I will ship the couple that I find the best looking, but M/A somehow transcends that, lol.
I totally agree about the lack of DWP fic though, for E/A, M/A, and M/E. There were so many great (hot) female characters in that movie that there should be more fic. Hell, I'd even like Emily/Serena fic.
It's always happens that with my favs ships, like Claire/Nikki from Heroes i.e. *whispering* you should totally write a Clikki fic sometime ;)
The lack of Heroes femslash is astounding. Fandom for that show is totally a boys club. I do find it pretty hilarious though that most of the femslash is Niki/Jessica (and by hilarious I mean hawt, lol). I actually did write a couple Clikki pieces Flower (http://fembuck.livejournal.com/58921.html) and On the Road (http://fembuck.livejournal.com/58763.html), but they are from a while ago. I'm hoping Niki will be more integrated with the females rest of the cast this season so it'll be easier to slash her.
But the boyfriend got me more annoyed for some reason.
Oh, I hate this character. On my first watching of the pre-air pilot I actually even managed to convince myself that he died. Sadly, watching the second airing made me realize that he's probably alive and I hated him even more. This show has like every element I like in TV so despite the fact that the pilot wasn't astounding I'm going to keep watching. Also, Jaime/Sarah is hot. And according to Katee Sackhoff there's going to be more Sarah so that's a plus

Date: 2007-09-29 04:00 am (UTC)Totally agree. They have this huge vibe coming out off the them in waves lol We need more candids shots, definitively.
Also, it cracked me up how bored Leighton looked for most of the clip. I think she would have rather been doing other things with Blake *wink*
LoL You're hilarious, a cool mental image I had there for a second ;) I read some people complaining about Leighton looking so serious on that clip but I think that is because she have to have this bitchy image because Blair for the pics. But Ooo Blake is my girl, flirting with Leighton and stuff lol
If you don't like the pilot give the second episode a shot, because I found the second ep to be much better than the pilot. Plus, there's Blair being fabulously bitchy and prancing around half naked which is just good fun.
actually I enjoyed the pilot. The scene at the bar in the Palace was worth watching it. So far I like Dan's character too. God, he's so cute with his crush on Serena. But also Blair half naked sounds really good.
Oh, I'm completely in love with Emily Blunt. Ever since I saw "My Summer of Love" I have adored her. >/em<
Me too, she looked so young and gorgeous without all the makeup's mask she had to wear for the DWP. I mean, I love her with her bitchy attitude and all but it was too much make up for her pretty face. And I feel the same way about Meryl. She's GREAT on acting but not really my type, even on her older movies.
I actually did write a couple Clikki pieces Flower and On the Road, but they are from a while ago./em>
Oh damn, you wrote those??? I didn't knew that. I love Flower, it was perfect for a fic that was make only with the pilot like a background. You def should write more, please?? *puppy eyes* There too much boy stuff on that fandom already, we need balance there. I don't like Nikki/Jessica fics that much but I'm ok with them. Also I'm hoping to watch more of Nikki this season, she's one of my favs on the show.
Also, Jaime/Sarah is hot
Period. I think that is the only reason I'll watch the show, I just going to skip out the parts with the annoying boyfriend.
BTW , how we should call the Serena/Blair ship? I can't come out with a good one
