I'm continuing to love this show. Seriously, I'm so happy it's good.

1. Summer Glau rocks. Like many people I think that for me Cameron has been "awww schmoopy, you so cute with your big eyes and robotic walk" since the beginning of the series, but this episode Cameron freaked me the hell out in an awesome way. She was very unsettling (and hot)  for most of the episode, which is really how we should be feeling about her more then "awww, so cute *pinches cheeks*".

For that reason the scenes with Cameron and Charley were actually some of my favorite in the episode. "Little girl, you freak me.....the hell out," indeed Charley. Indeed.

I don't think for a moment that Cameron is going to betray Sarah and John, but with the "Sometimes they go bad. No one knows why," line, and the chopping up Terminator's, and the slipping microchips into her pockets, Cameron really made me uncomfortable for the first time and I give major kudos to Summer for that.

Also, Cameron standing in the doorway in her jumpsuit after blowing away the Terminator that went bad was like the hottest thing ever. *looks around for cold water*

2. Kyle is pretty.

3. Future!John is interesting. I was interested to see that he seemed to be revered and respected by his soldier's but not really loved by them. He was like this mystically shadow-y figure that operated from the depth who everyone knew about and was in awe of, but it was a cold, aloof sort of wonder. The "John doesn't have any friends" line was very telling too. Innnnnnnteresting.

Also, I wonder if it means anything that they had Dekker playing John during the "Look! It's a time travel room!" scene? Was it just because Derek was all drugged up and the future was merging with his present, or is a fairly young John in the future who has maybe jumped a head a lot, or was it just a cheap stand-in because they haven't hired anyone for Future!John yet? *scratches head* I'm guessing it's because Derek was drugged up though since we've seen an older John in the movies, and they've just hired Christian Bale to play a manly John in the next movie (though I realize that movie will likely have little to nothing to do with the show).

4. As much as I liked Charley, I'm glad that there is no lingering romance plot between him and Sarah. I won't have to cringe every time I see him now.

5. Lena is so cute. When Sarah was talking about Kyle and his kind eyes and had that smile on her face I was just like "awwwwww". She was like a sixteen year old girl.

6. I was actually very pleased with the reveal that it was Derek who killed Andy. Derek didn't really seem that badass despite his stubble and tattoos, so I was pleased to see that he was the one that did it. It's also interesting that the first thing he did upon meeting Sarah was lie to her about not killing Andy.

7. So, who thinks that Cameron-model Terminator's were in the Torture Chamber of Classical Music? *raises hand* I'm thinking brainwashing was going on since they let the men go. Also, I'm very interested to know what was up with the music. Was there a human involved in whatever was going on?

8. BRING BACK TARISSA! I miss her.

There's probably more than could be said, but I'm sleepy so I bid you all adieu!

LENA HEADEY!

*sigh* Episodes of TSCC centered around characters NOT named Sarah, John or Cameron makes trancer a very bored girl!

I don't know. I felt like the introduction of John's uncle was *way* too soon in a show still trying to find its legs. That and doing flash forwards regarding shit we, for the most part, *already* know? Boring. That and, well, I don't care if he's like a bajillion years old - they totally should have Michael Biehn come back to play Kyle.. or at least used his voice. If they can use special effects to de-age Sigourney Weaver in those Direct TV ads, they could do the same for Biehn.

Cameron really made me uncomfortable for the first time and I give major kudos to Summer for that.

Yes. I don't know if its subtlety on TPTB part or my fanwankery, but I like the comparisons regarding 'family'. Cameron must kill hers to protect Sarah and John, while they get to save theirs, ie, Derek. All while she's keeping 'pieces' of her family.

Kyle is pretty.

And so, so very gay. Just like his momma.. but less butch.

As much as I liked Charley, I'm glad that there is no lingering romance plot between him and Sarah.

Or, as I like to call it, 'you mean you've been trying to stop Armageddon all by yourself.. huh, have a nice life. Thanks for all the fish!'. I mean, if I found out that the world's going to end in a couple years, I'd like to think I'd want to try and do something to stop it rather than leaving it to a single mother, her teenaged son and a scary-ass robot!

And, dude, did you see the previews for next week? Another female Terminator!! Score!

Yeah, I'll admit I was kind of bored by this because of the lack of Sarah. I mean I'm sure Lena appreciated being able to take her sausage dogs for a walk and like catch up on her laundry or whatever since she probably only had to work like 2 days that week, but it kind of sucked for the viewers to have so little Sarah so soon. Especially for that episode to be focused on a character we only met the episode and who is played by BAG. If it had been John or Cameron-centric I would have been able to deal better.

I don't know. I felt like the introduction of John's uncle was *way* too soon in a show still trying to find its legs.

I totally agree. I'm still learning about the main characters and about the way they interact and work with each other, and I was enjoying the cozy little set up they had going and getting used to their world. And then this episode was like "CRASH BANG HORDES OF PEOPLE TRAPPLING THROUGH GRRR MACHINES" and I was like "whoa". Also, I don't think I like Derek so seeing so much of him wasn't awesome.

That and, well, I don't care if he's like a bajillion years old - they totally should have Michael Biehn come back to play Kyle.. or at least used his voice. If they can use special effects to de-age Sigourney Weaver in those Direct TV ads, they could do the same for Biehn.

Blasphemous as it is, I've only seen T1 like once, and I forget most of what happened in it, so I'm not as attached to the Kyle Reese character as a lot of people so the recasting didn't bother me too much. The fact that Jonathon Jackson is so pretty probably helps too. It is really difficult to get used to seeing a different person playing a role that is iconic for you though. Like I can imagine how I'd feel if they tried to recast Xena or something.

I mean, if I found out that the world's going to end in a couple years, I'd like to think I'd want to try and do something to stop it rather than leaving it to a single mother, her teenaged son and a scary-ass robot!

Well, in Charley's defense I don't think that Sarah wanted his help. She was very much like "oh, cute little civilian that is scared by my pet Terminator". I think he might have been willing to help if she'd asked, but she was like "Bye...bye...bye...I'll call you next time someone is dying!" as she pushed him out the door.

And, dude, did you see the previews for next week? Another female Terminator!! Score!

WHAAAAAAAAAT?????????? Fucking CTV didn't give any previews for next weeks episode! FUCK YOU CTV, I HATE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *sigh* It's too bad they couldn't have gotten Loken to guest star since she's not doing anything these days. Lena, Cameron and the Lokinator in one episode would have blown my mind with awesome.

Yeah, something about his casting makes me wary of the character. I would have preferred Brian Bloom or even Dean Winters as Kyle's little brother over BAG. It feels too much like stunt casting without much stunt to it. Or worse, copying the Grey's Anatomy formula by casting a former 80's teen heartthrob in an adult role and hoping it takes off. But, dude, BAG probably wasn't the best way to go. He doesn't have the gravitas to make it work so it has a square peg in round hole feel to it.

t is really difficult to get used to seeing a different person playing a role that is iconic for you though.

*Sad, pathetic admission* I was still in the process of cooking dinner when the show came on, so when I saw BAG future scenes on my tv, I went back to cooking, so I totally missed that it was Jonathon Jackson playing Kyle.

It's not that I'm against them recasting, it's just.. if you're gonna use such an iconic character that's a part of the Terminator's history then, dayum, make it *HUGE*. Make it something that will rock the audience's socks off. Don't use the emotional currency of a beloved character to prop up audience interest in a secondary character!!

That's one of my biggest quibbles with Smallville. How they use the emotional currency from previous Superman storylines/scenes/characters in an effort to bolster their own story. It feels like a 'cheat'. Like they're using something that's unearned. (I had the same problem with Superman Returns using the old John Williams score. Like, if you're going to reinvision an old story have the balls to let it stand on its own rather than using the past as a crutch.. or something).

If they're going to use Kyle Reese, then use him to support the characters that the show's about, ie, Sarah and/or John!!

Well, in Charley's defense I don't think that Sarah wanted his help.

That's just it, whether she wants his help or not, the end of the world involves him as well. I just.. it seems weird for someone to so casually walk away from something that huge. Especially someone who's livelihood revolves around saving people's lives.

WHAAAAAAAAAT?????????? Fucking CTV didn't give any previews for next weeks episode!

Dude, that right there is reason enough to show up at CTV with pitchforks and burning torches! And yes, they totally should have hired The Loken to reprise her role for the robot-Sarah-robot sexcapades!
