Leighton singing = instantaneous orgasm

... singing Bette Davis Eyes makes me swoon.
If you would like to swoon too feat your ears on this
Also, TSCC last night rocked my world!
The opening scene with Samson and Delilah playing was like porn for my eyeballs. All I could think was "guh uh awesome" and there was some gurgling and squeeing as well.
Secondly, Shirley Manson is the sex. I LOVE the brogue. There needs to be more brogue. Don't fight it gurlfrien', work it! Moar Catherine Weaver!
Could have done without the John + Cameron equals true love, but I'm glad Cam is good again, and that she and Sarah had a little moment at the end. Moar Cameron/Sarah screen time. I hope John's new girlfriend shows up soon.
The hair cut = definite improvement.
John was kind of badass and kind of a bastard this episode. I felt terrible for Sarah watching him go through it, but it was some nice character development for John. I could actually see the new John being a leader (not necessarily a guy I'd like, be someone I'd follow).
Too much Charlie.
Just enough Derek.
Good use of Ellison.
Cameron sapling her cheek was high comedy.
The Catherine Weaver reveal was awesome as well. I thought she might have been hiding somewhere, but I didn't think she was a melty terminator (whatever that model is) until the extended shot of the urinal. Her "sorry, I didn't mean to" and pointing before she ventilated his brain was awesome. MOAR BROGUE!
Can't wait until next week.

Date: 2008-09-09 08:46 pm (UTC)And the Shirley! There can never be too many hot ladies in one tv show, IMO. She was all badass at first, but the T1000 reveal (or maybe higher - just basing off the movies) was awesomness x1238423. I can't stop listening to Samson & Delilah <3

Bleighton: Subtlety. You're doing it wrong
Isn't it fabulous. I hope they never change (unless that change involves making out in public, or hand-holding and kissing Lilo-SamRon style).
There can never be too many hot ladies in one tv show
Trufax.
I can't stop listening to Samson & Delilah
*goes to download that piece of musical awesomeness*

Date: 2008-09-11 03:58 am (UTC)I ripped it from the show itself and kept in all the static/explosions from Cam trying to reboot at the beginning and it sounds so awesome like that. I NEED GARBAGE TO MAKE THAT NEW ALBUM BUTCH WAS TALKING ABOUT!

Date: 2008-09-09 10:30 pm (UTC)She is delish.
I heartily approve of her addition to the show. She needs to one scene where she gazes out of a window menacingly and philosophizes about humanity being little ants at least once an episode. That scene made my pants happy.

Date: 2008-09-09 08:56 pm (UTC)About Gossip Girl. STRAWBERRY SCENE, WHY DID THERE HAVE TO BE STRAWBERRY SCENE? PLEASE SPARE MY FRAGILE MIND! ARGH. That's all.

Date: 2008-09-09 10:34 pm (UTC)I certainly hope not. I really felt like they were pushing a romantic angle this episode and I totally wasn't into it.
It's more of a god/creation father/daughter type of situation.
This I'm totally behind however.
STRAWBERRY SCENE, WHY DID THERE HAVE TO BE STRAWBERRY SCENE? PLEASE SPARE MY FRAGILE MIND!
I haven't seen this weeks GG episode yet, but now the suspense is killing me! Are these good caplocks, or Serena and Dan making out my retinas are burning caplocks?

sexygood. She's obviously singing about Blake. To quote myself, "SUBTLETY: It's not ur forte."BLEIGHTON APPROVES OF THIS POST

I did not think she would sound thatsexygood.
I'd heard her sing before, but the song she was singing was crap and really didn't give me a great indication of how good/sexy/husky/orgasm inducing her voice is. I really, really like the timber of it.
Mmm, Leighton ... doing anything and everything. I don't care, as long as it's Leighton.

Oh, Bleighton. You are so beautiful. Stay gay girls, stay gay.

Date: 2008-09-09 09:21 pm (UTC)I know right. At first I was worried because it almost sounded as if she were doing an American accent and I was all, 'Nooooooo, please no.' Thankfully, that wasn't the case. I got so excited when they revealed that she was a terminator, but I couldn't help but laugh once the scene set it. I mean she turned herself into a urinal. So happy our show is back!
Ok, going back to listen to Leighton singing again.

Date: 2008-09-09 10:44 pm (UTC)Her voice is so sexy. I heartily approve. I hope she gets some good producers to work on her album, because I really want to listen to ten tracks of her smoky voice without feeling dirty (in a bad way).
At first I was worried because it almost sounded as if she were doing an American accent and I was all, 'Nooooooo, please no.' Thankfully, that wasn't the case.
I thought the same thing. I swear it's like when they filmed that first scene she was trying, and then she was like "Ah, fuck it! I'm Scottish. Deal with it bitches!" and like just brogued the fuck out. And I salute her for it. The brogue is best!!!
but I couldn't help but laugh once the scene set it. I mean she turned herself into a urinal.
That brought the LULZ for sure. It was funny though, because I KNEW she had to be in there somewhere, but my mind just wouldn't guess she was a urinal until I saw her transform.

Date: 2008-09-09 09:30 pm (UTC)Weaver's Terminator model seems to be better at playing human than Cameron's. Her human cover story worked pretty well.

Date: 2008-09-09 10:49 pm (UTC)I think Sarah likes Cameron, and needs Cameron in her own way. She's just not as starry eyed and naive about it as John. Sarah looked kind of regretful before they took off out the window when she realized Cameron had turned.
I find Cameron/Sarah more interesting because there is a conflict there. Sarah doesn't want to think of Cameron as a person, but she DOES, despite her snippy little comments she invariably treats Cameron like a member of the family (hell, she even sends her to the grocery store!). Sarah always best when she's all conflicted and shit.

I know, right! I feel like John's programming skills were lacking or something. Vic was able to be a pretty convincing human as well, and yet John's pet model is all "I'm a cat". I mean, Cameron's hilarious and all but it would be nice to know why she hasn't really assimilated (you know, other than having her be robot like at times brings the lulz)

Date: 2008-09-11 08:33 am (UTC)Yes. Maybe it's because Cam is usefool, maybe it's because Cameron presents some kind of hope for another kind of machine. Something that won't kill you. Because if there're "good" machines, they trulystand a chance.
I find Cameron/Sarah more interesting because there is a conflict there. Sarah doesn't want to think of Cameron as a person, but she DOES
Yes! And I think she notices and wonders if Cam's human appereance are getting to her or Cameron's behaviour. Or if there's more to Cam than just programming. It's really interesting to watch.

I forgot about Vic and thought it might be a model issue. But Vic and Cam were probably the same model. Hmmm, maybe it's because John himself doesn't know much about being a normal human? He can't program anything he doesn't know or has forgotten about (he was at war for a while already when he sent Cameron back, right?).

Date: 2008-09-09 09:36 pm (UTC)And OMG that song killed me.
Also, this is why John is the future leader of humanity and I'm..not. Me in his shoes hearing Sarah's blood-curling scream? Cut to me bolting back to the car and bitchslap Cameron repeatedly yelling 'back off, back off you biatch!'
*is determined*
How bad can she be, really, she cleaned herself with baby swipes..*awww*

Date: 2008-09-09 10:55 pm (UTC)I actually really LOVE the way this show uses music. They do it to terrific effect (Cam dancing, Johnny Cash in the Season 1 finale, Samson and Delilah here)
I also love the it was Bear McCreary who arranged this version of the song. He did an awesome arrangement of "All Along the Watchtower" for BSG too.

and did you know that song they played during the begining was sung by her?
Yeah, I totally recognized her voice, but I'd never heard the song before. It turns out there was a good reason for that since it was specifically recorded for the show. Now I'm just waiting for her version of "Samson and Delilah" to make it's way on-line.

Date: 2008-09-09 10:49 pm (UTC)Hee! When I was getting ready before the premiere, you know setting things in the coffee table so as not to have to move for an hour, all I could think was 'God, it's like I'm getting ready to watch porn. All I need is a bottle of lotion or something'. Because, dude, TSCC is totally a show that puts out! And that it was gooooooddd! I totally had a fan-gasm!
John was kind of badass and kind of a bastard this episode.
Yeah. I wish they hadn't been so ambiguous as to who actually killed Sarkassian(sp).
I felt terrible for Sarah watching him go through it..
Oh I know. There's a definite tragedy in there because all Sarah wants is her little boy, who's now grown up way faster than he should and Sarah can't protect him like she wants to. All while John's pulling away to become the man he needs to be.
Worse still, it's all fait accompli in that Sarah has to die for John to become Future!John because, you know, if Sarah survives she's totally leading the Resistance which makes John redundant. But she's neither ready to die nor willing to 'let' John grow up.
I found it interesting that John needs Cameron the same kinda way Sarah needs John. They both (John/Sarah) have a need to project their faith's onto something else rather than in themselves. God, I just love their fucked-up, dysfunctional relationship.. that's still healthier than most families.

Date: 2008-09-09 11:04 pm (UTC)LOL! I love you. Thanks like RPattz level of awesome. If he'd managed to work lotion into his "Edward is so awesome everyone creams themselves" quotes, I think I would have died from the perfection.
I wish they hadn't been so ambiguous as to who actually killed Sarkassian
Me too. It was pretty anti-climactic since I think everyone realized it was John that killed him right off the bat. Did they ever even come out and say it in the episode?

I don't have anything to add to this, other than "word". This came through really clearly this episode and it was heartbreaking to watch. Lena did a fantastic job, and Dekker manned up nicely (despite his hair!)
God, I just love their fucked-up, dysfunctional relationship.. that's still healthier than most families.
So true. The Connor Family is fantastic in all of its fucked up glory. But it's like, when it comes down to it, these people love each other fiercely and that's something special. Like as fucked up as things get, you know they'll be there for each other (probably shooting people and blowing shit up ... but they'll be doing it together!)

Date: 2008-09-10 02:28 am (UTC)No they didn't which I found kinda frustrating since, at couple points, I kept vacillating between who really killed him. For such a big moment, it really shouldn't have been so vague. Between the exposition for new viewers, setting up the season arc, this plot didn't get nearly enough of the screen time it deserved.
Lena did a fantastic job..
When she was sobbing in front of the bathroom door trying to get John to talk? Killed me DED!! Like, GOOD GOD, would *someone* give Sarah a hug? And by 'someone', I totally mean Cameron and by 'hug' I mean 'deep tongue kissing'.
Like as fucked up as things get, you know they'll be there for each other
Heh, I cracked up during the scene where they crashed the car and John's standing on the overpass listening to Sarah scream. 'Cuz, you know the only reason he ran away is because if he didn't, Sarah would totally kill him. He was all 'hmm, face Terminator hell bent on killing me, or angry mother that I disobeyed.. I choose RUN LIKE HELL!'.
Oh, and then there was the scene where Charlie and Derek were stuck in traffic and the first thing I thought was - um, Charlie, you know that ambulance you're driving comes with sirens that makes cars get out of your way, don't you?
