No Lisa Ray this time, but I still come bearing gifts :D

srs bsns:  Daphne, a drama staring Geraldine Somerville (Gosford Park, Harry Potter), Elizabeth McGovern (Freezing), and Janet McTeer (Five Days, Tumbleweeds) brings the secret love life of this renowned storyteller to the small screen. Based on the acclaimed biography by Margaret Forster, Daphne charts the story of du Maurier's unrequited passion and shows how Daphne's inner struggles with her sexuality informed the writing of her compelling stories. The 90-minute drama focuses on the most emotionally fraught yet creatively fertile period of the author's life – the years between the Rebecca trial and the writing of her short story The Birds.

Deep Thoughts by Janine:  Movie good.  Captivating.  Watch.  Elizabeth McGovern UNF!

Ooh, looks good! Will most definitely download!
(And thanks for the info about 'The World Unseen' and 'I Can't Think Straight' - I downloaded both, although I haven't watched them yet, but they look awesome :D)
You have awesome taste in film, btw, and I've never heard of some of these before, so thanks for sharing the love :)

I'm definitely snagging this (and using my appropriate Rebecca icon too ^^). Thanks a bunch, I can't wait to watch it.

I think you'll really enjoy it, espeically if you're a du Maurier fan. I was very pleasantly surprised by how good it was.

My grandma bought me the book Rebecca by Daphne Du Marie a few years ago - I saw the movie about a month ago. It was instant love (and her love interest was so fucking hot, I'd watch it again just for her scenes). Of course, it was only after I saw the movie that I started reading the book...

But, Jesus, that woman is a MILF.

Ellen Doubleday made my girly parts tingle. Seriously, Elizabeth McGovern was luminous. Even though Ellen was kind of a tease, I totally loved her and Daphne together. The two actresses had great chemistry.

I've seen the movie, and I have the book but I haven't read it yet, because I suck. *sigh* I've gots to get on that. So much to read, so little time *gets a touch of the vapours*

Oh man I can hardly keep up with all this deliciousness. Don't get me wrong though, I'm loving every minute of it! All I know is that I have yet to finish, I Can't Think Straight, thanks to life's many interruptions, but Lisa Ray has already hooked me in.

Thanks again for all these goodies. You have more than earned a vacation, my friend. Monuments should be erected in honor of your Femslash Greatness.

Thank you very much. I loved the book "Rebecca" and am interested in finding out about the story of it's author, because the book is actually a lot deeper than first anticipated. :)

Sorry for double commenting but you should really read the book. My thoughts when reading it was that people can read it as a basic crime mystery love story, but if one thinks more of what is what a whole different plot seems to surface in which the main heroine is not being set free but is being caged as the plot drudges forward. I don't wish to spoil it but I really loved all the allegories, nuances and stuff that the book is rife with. I just really love the book. Even the first chapter is about the best first chapter I ever read in any book how it's written. Of course I might be just stupid but I wish you will read it and tell us what you think of it.
