THi Kim!!! Since its April 1, I can ask my question about WWBC, although its not really a spoiler. Anyway, when Rachel is picking up her brother that the airport, she sees a woman greeting her partner with their children. Then she is sad that her and Ivy's relationship will never be recognized like that. First, awesome scene and a nod to other families. Second, how can Rachel not want to be with Ivy after a thought like that? Seriously, people don't have those kind of thoughts about normal friends. Honestly, I think that Rachel is just so scared she would lose Ivy that she is not even letting herself consider the possibility. Look at how their auras merged to become one in ODW. Ok, I'm done stating my case for time being. I'm lovin' the book!!!~Indy

4/1/09 -- Hi, Indy. It's complicated. Rachel is smart enough to know that some things come with so many attachments, that to follow them will lead to disaster. Yes, you can try, but at some point, it's going to fall apart. Ivy is my tragic figure, and she will be happy when I'm done even if I have to kill her to do it. The nicest thing I can say is, at least she finally manned up and has stopped intentionally fucking with the hopes of Ravy fans.

So, on the one hand ... I'm free! I no longer do I have to worry about how I'm going to get through 6 more books. The answer: I don't! I'm done. I'm retiring from the stage. Adios. Sayonara. Goodbye. And, there's something in having that resolved at least. A clean break and all that.

Seriously? Who gives away what happens to a character before the series is over? Not that I care. I'm not reading the books anymore. Probably not even the internet spoilers.

Rachel and Ivy had so much going for them... *mutters* Ah, well. It was getting annoying anyway, listening to Rachel's rambly thoughts. Funny in the beginning, not so much after so many books.

And really...I think it's more of telling Cock Block to grow up than wanting Rachel to. Seeing as how Rachel's just Cock Block in disguise.

When I was first introduced to the Rachel Morgan series I, honestly, had a hard time getting into it. Rachel seemed ok & Jenks was kinda funny but I had to force myself through the very beginning. BUT as soon as Ivy Tamwood stepped onto the scene I knew I had an instant girl crush! Meaning: I no longer cared about the main lead because I just wanted to see Ivy. My thoughts were often along the lines of "Rachel's got people trying to kill her? Yeah, so... where's Ivy?" lol

Seriously, this was exactly how I felt about the series in the beginning. I'd heard about the Rachel/Ivy subtext, and everyone and their brother had been telling me to read it. So I got DWW, and read like fifteen pages, and I was like "eh", and I put it down and didn't read it for like 8 months. Then I liked forced myself to continue after people started bugging me to read it again, and I got to Ivy and I was hooked. Ivy is what hooked me, and Ivy is why I stay. I'm honestly SO bored when Ivy isn't in a scene. Rachel is like the rain I've got to tolerate to get to my Ivy!rainbow.

The only 'tragedy' here is the fact that you won't let her be bloody happy!!!

This. I ranted about this already, so I'll hold back now. But not only is Ivy's 'tragedy' contrived by Cock Block to cock-block, she also doesn't fit the classic definition of a tragic figure/hero. Ivy's downfall is not caused my tragic flaw in HER personality, it's caused by Rachel being a fucking dumbass.

The sad part is, I wouldn't put it past KH to kill off Ivy just to get rid of the 'drama'...

*sigh* Neither would I. I've been worried about Ivy's fate ever since CB admitted that she finds Ivy hard to write, and that while in the first book Ivy was her favorite character, since then she's moved on to loving writing Trent and Al the most. Just *shudder* Ravy's biggest obstacle, is that CB loves the peen so much like Sasha Fierce Rachel, so Ivy will also be pushed aside in favor of pretty boys (with accents).

when she has an epiphany (hm...maybe I shouldn't have done this or that?) it's gone 2 seconds later & she's back to being miss adrenaline junkie.

I know! Which is why Cock Block stating that Book 8 is going to be the book of Rachel "growing up" is such shit. For the series to continue, Rachel CAN'T grow up. Rachel being a fucking idiot is what leads to all of the plot points in the book. If she starts doing things that make sense, then everything would be solved in 200 pages. Rachel's not gonna grow up at all, just like she didn't grow up in ODW, which was also supposed to be a 'Rachel grows up' book. The only thing that grew in ODW was Cock Block's cock-blocking.

When we ALL know Ivy has suffered much more than Rachel ever will.

I know its a super late comment, but once I saw the rant, I'd figure other pissed off people might appreciate the sentiment. I saw this on youtube, because from around 2:30 to about 5 minutes, its a fitting rant from a frigging Trent/Rachel (topic is Ivy/Rachel) shipper that KH seriously needs to listen to her fans and stop being such a fence sitter in any Ravy happenings. Well that blows. I've just begun to go back to actually READ the books starting from the beginning (you know, w/o skipping to only the Ravy parts). CB has taken the fun out of the entire series now that she has outright denied us the Ravy. Does she have some kind of pathological need to torture characters that SHE herself created? That's just so twisted.

Oh well, at least we still have fanfics. Thanks for continuing to share all your awesome fics. Keep them coming!
