Hmm, I'll check it out. Like you I need some new authors to follow now that J.K. doesn't have anything new out, I'm Scott Westerfield'd out, and now that I've finished Libba Bray's "Gemma Doyle Trilogy" (which is completely awesome, and which you should check out if you haven't).

Libba Bray's "Gemma Doyle Trilogy": I've read it, didn't like it. *shrug*
There are a lot of brilliant lesbian books out there that aren't sci-fi or fantasy (Blayne Cooper, Karin Kallmaker, Kim Pritekel, Meghan O'Brien...) The trick is finding those that are (and are also good in both departments). Urban fantasy is what I'm after, and slow-building romantic non-het relationships.
I've searched through a lot but Kim Harrison seems really unique in that regard, sadly.
About Jane Fletcher, her world has no men and other women impregnating other women through magic, so... yeah. Not ordinary fantasy by any means. Couldn't continue reading because my brain kept on repeating "this is stupid."

I loved those books (well, mostly the first two. The third dragged on a bit, was really really plotty to the point where I had no idea what was going on a lot of the time, and had some real WTF moments like Kartik's fate). I loved Felicity though, so the fact that her storyline wrapped up well made me happy. I also loved Gemma's feminist ending, lol.

Yeah, I think I'd have the same reaction. It's like, it is not necessary to invent a world without men to have chicks hook up. Men are cool. There's no reason to be that much of a hater. If you substituted the lack of men with women, people would be crying misogyny . And if you substituted like another race in there people would be all
