Two new pictures from Jennifer's Body. I really can't wait for this movie to come out! Also, Amanda Seyfried thugged out, might just be the most adorable thing ever.
I just watched both episodes of Warehouse 13 and despite myself I think I like it. I wasn't that impressed with the first 15-20 minutes of the pilot, but once Warehouse 13 itself made an appearance things picked up for me and I started to enjoy it. Then I went from barely being able to tolerate Myka, to kind of falling in love with her in all of her bitchy, stuck-up, good-girl/teacher's pet glory.
Also, it helps that Joanne Kelly (aka Myka) has a habit of looking at female characters (mostly Leena) like she wants to lick them like a popisicle. When Leena first showed up and Pete and Myka kind of looked at each other, I thought they were going to get into a fistfight over her. (Link to pilot episode, change the xx to tt)
Goddamn you, Summit Entertainment! Why did you have to realize a poster of Dakota Fanning as Jane where she looks kind of badass? When did you have to post this description of one of her scenes?
'Shall we, Jane?' With nary a peep, Fanning's eyes lit up. She turned her head towards Bella/Kristen Stewart, and gave a slight, cruel smile. In that miniscule movement I was sold on Fanning ... and her ability to convey unadulterated malice.
I can't help it! I kind of want to see Dakota Fanning convey unadulterated malice. *sigh*
This picture of Keira Knightely makes me want to do dirty things to her. I don't think it's a new pic, but I haven't seen it before and I consider that be a huge tragedy.
I watched Attack Girls Swim Team vs. The Undead and it has got to be one of the weirdest, most crack-tactular, most mish-mashed movies I've ever seen. It was like a live-action hentai movie or something. Mad scientists, zombie vampire creatures, orphans, lesbianism, hypnotism, training montage's, flute masturbation, vagina lasers, etc. I was like 'O.o' and 'lol' throughout the whole thing. I'll say this for it, it's one bad movie I've watched recently that actually did make me laugh out loud. Here's a link if you want to check it out (change the xx to tt).

I am going to see HP tomorrow! I know I am so late to the party (I'm just trying into a crotchety old woman who didn't wan to deal with the lines). Prepare for an epic post once I do. I've seen positive mentions on my f-list, but I didn't read the posts because I didn't want to be spoiled, so I'm really excited to see it. So yeah, sometime tomorrow prepare for major squeeage.

I know! It's just too well written for cable TV. It's such a beautiful show. I really wish that it had been on a pay channel. It's like, I've almost given up on cable TV.

I would have preferred to have her in a relationship with someone's on the mission, or to be starting up a relationship with someone's who on the station, but I won't give up quite yet.
if they'd kept the Ming Na character single and made her the 'Kirk' of the group, ie, the one that bangs all the alien chicks. Not *that* would have been progressive!
Now that I've read this sentence, I'm going to be a little bitter that this didn't happen, no matter what they do with the character.

When she gets to Forks, she meets the Cullens (Edward the brooding virgin, Emmett the jock, Rosalie the bitch, Jasper the Tortured One, Alice the lovable pixie with a heart of gold, Esme the mom, and Carlisle the Doctor Dad)
Bella thinks Edward hates her at first, but really he loves her and is scared his vampire nature will make him hurt her. Bella doesn't give a crap about all of that, and after Edward saves her from danger they start to date, not have sex and be boring.
Bad vampires show up, and want to taste Bella's delicious blood. Edward and the Cullen's rush off to save her. James the bad vampire is killed, Victoria his girlfriend is pissed and wants revenge, and Bella and Edward are maddeningly still a couple.
Oh, and there's a kid named Jacob who is an old friend of Bella's who also has a crush on Bella. He hates Edward, because his people know that the Cullen's are vampires. He's set up as another possible love interest for Bella, and he's the better choice really but from the beginning it's clear that Bella won't choose him.
Oh, and Edward can read minds, Jasper can feel and manipulate people's emotions, and Alice can see the future (sometimes ... depending on plot convenience)
Now you don't have to read Twilight and have all of the information you need to understand New Moon!

I know. I am SO scared that they are going to find some way to fuck it up. But I'm hoping it's good. That scene, Ashley Greene in a Porsche, and Dakota Fanning are the only reason I'm seeing this movie at all.

Warehouse 13. Safe and slightly anesthetic programming. It doesn't seem to have very high aspirations when it comes to actual science fiction (but then again, what TV series except The Outer Limits (and some few others (ok I almost forgot X-files)) has ever had). I'm glad that there's still some actual acting muscle in the show. Saul Rubinek and CCH Pounder both kept me entertained. The two leading actors are both just pretty faces so far. I'll hold my judgement until I see a couple more episodes. I'm quite happy of the steampunk-ish tech they use in the series, but not so much on the constant name dropping. Tesla this and Edison that. Yes, right. Because the field of science is in total 10 people on earth, ever. Interesting premise and ok-ish production values, but it still feels like a regurgitation of all older similar series. It kinda fun to just turn my brain off and gloriously, absolutely waste time watching this. Jane Espenson is a veteran in the field so I'm sure it can't be all that bad. It feels a lot like Eureka, of which I watched some of the first season and in the second, just got bored to tears.
Also in In Plain Sight ep 2.13 "Let's get it Ahn" Sherilyn Fenn and Kelly Hu will play lesbians, according to imdb.com. Interesting.

Aw, I love the show. It's not perfect, David/Michelle bores the hell out of me, but I love most everything else about it, from the way it's shot, to the way it's written, to the way it's acted (Ian McShane is phenomenal, as is Susanna Thompson. But even actors in smaller roles like Thomasina are great). I really doesn't surprise me that it didn't make good numbers on a cable station though. If it had been on Showtime or HBO I think the numbers would have been fine.

Yeah, I'd agree with this. I'm okay with that though. From this show I just expect some mindless entertainment and a few chuckles and so far it's delivered. It's definitely no Battlestar Galactica, or even Dollhouse, but I don't need it to be. Like "Eureka" I'll probably give up on it after a couple of seasons, but that's still a couple seasons of entertainment.

That's really cool! And yeah, they have the last episode of the first season to air, and then that's it. At the very least it looks like they'll have been able to shoot a complete arc, so hopefully it won't feel really incomplete.

I think pretty much the whole movie is Amanda's character trying to kill Megan, so Megan should be in it for the whole thing. From what I can tell, Megan goes to the concert, is sacrificed but turns into a demon because she wasn't a virgin. She starts killing people. Needy notices, and after talking to Jennifer doesn't work (and Jennifer nearly kills/kills her boyfriend), Needy tries to kill her.

Kings in a nutshell is:
A modern day, alternate-reality drama about a hero who rises to become the King of his nation, based on the biblical story of King David.
It is AWESOME. I love almost everything about it. The writing is amazing, visually it's stunning, and other than the Michelle actress, it's beautifully acted (with Rose and Silas being the most outstanding, though Sebastian Stan does a good job as Jack as well).
I'll start uploading files now and should have the season to date up tomorrow!

Amy Acker as Dr Saunders/Whiskey was absolutely inspiring, esp when Boyd was leaving. Not only that, but I hadn't really paid that much attention to Fran as Topher, but his meltdown and Adele consoling him was just omgahgood.
This was so good, and made me wonder why they never show the ending episodes of Joss's shows (and by never I mean Firefly, lol)

Date: 2009-07-30 07:13 am (UTC)For about 45 minutes, this was like the GREATEST MOVIE EVER!! There was Sakaya hitting on Aki like a tsunami and I was all 'wow, this is like some crazy ass subtext'. Then.. they kept going there.. and going there.. and then they *really* went there. The movie should honestly be retitled 'Japanese Schoolgirl Fetish Porn'.. without the actual porn! All that was missing was a scene where the swim team's in the pool and they get attacked by tentacles. But then..
The other half of the movie happened. And what started out as a fun, cool horror-comedy turned into something really, *really* creepy to an uncomfortable degree. Which is a shame really because if had continued being a teen-aged lesbian love story during a zombie apocalypse it would have only been the GREATEST MOVIE EVER!! Now, I'll rec it but only with warnings that it unfortunately turns to sexist and creepy crap.
