Oh hey, it's Morena Baccarin being the HBIC and wearing a fancy suit!  Seriously u guise, seriously.  Her face is impeccable.  It's like a work of art.  I honestly believe that I could look at this picture for an hour and be completely entertained. 

Oh, and to try and make posting this picture somewhat relevant, here is some information on the temporary shutting down of the new V Series.  I hope the retooling really is a good sign.  I was worried when I first heard about it, but reading that the pilot got really good reviews makes me feel better.

Not only will Summer Glau be on our television screens again but so will Lena Heady!  Please ignore the picture at the beginning of the post.  It looks shopped.  She's going to play Cersei (like the name, like the name) on HBO's "Game of Thones".  I have no idea what this show (or the books its based on ) is about, but I am a shallow viewer and don't need to know.  I will watch for Lena (and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau)

Milla Jovovich + Aliens = Me there.  Check out the trailer for Milla's new movie "The Fourth Kind" here.  Firstly, Milla makes for a very sexy doctor.  I'd make up all sorts of shit to have her counsel me.  Secondly, the movie looks delightfully freaky.

It's an interesting movie.  It gets off to a slow start, but in the end I really liked it.  I'll say that it definitely left me thinking afterwards, which is something that can be rarely said about horror movies.  But, again, this isn't a typical horror movie. It's a bit smarter and more thoughtful.  In any case, it's far, far, far, better than the majority of  horror movies that make it into theaters these days.

And, since the music thing went so well the last time, here is my other musical obsession of the moment.

White Lies - To Lose My Life (once again, change the 'xx; to 'tt')

They're very 80s, and very awesome.

And now I shall go back to mourning the end of summer and the return to work :(

About Lena being Cersei. I don't think she can do it. They are so completely different as persons. Cersei is closed minded, cruel, nasty bitch with an irrational superiority complex, while Lena is all kinds of mind blowing awesome and colors of the rainbow. To convincinly portray Cersei she has to pull some really dark, ugly mojo. IMHO YMMV

If she pulls it off I will be very impressed.

The books: they are superb. I read the first three like in two days non-stop. They're about 1000 pages each. Never have I completely devoured literature at that rate since. They are one of the best non-femslashy books out there for the ones who like low-key fantasy with very brutal and gritty adult themes. In fact, it's mostly like an alternate middle-ages with a slight fantastic tint. The magic is very ambiquous, it might be just myths and mind games. It is never clear at any point. Plenty of time has passed since I read the books (the series is still unfinished...), so all this might not be completely accurate.

Cersei sounds cool, and right up my alley! I already anticipate a major character!crush ;)

Also, Lena herself is amazing, and sunshine lollipops and hilariousness. But I totally think she could play a character like you described above. She's got these great dramatic, dark looks (considering they cast Lena and Nikolaj I'm hoping they let them stay brunette because I don't think either of them would look good blonde), and she plays tough chicks well (though I haven't ever seen her play 'murderous' before).

The books: they are superb.

You're description of the books is tempting to me, but knowing me I'll probably just wait and watch the show instead of the reading them. If I love the show, I might end up going back and reading them though.

And actually, there is some f/f action in Book Four involving Cersei, although Cersei mainly does it because she's bored.

Cersei's main problem is she's obsessed with the notion that she's been held back all her life because she's a woman, esp. by her father, and that if only she'd been a man, she would have taken the world by storm. But in fact she's nowhere near as smart as she thinks she is. Although yeah, she's probably one of the most disturbed, evil individuals in the series. She loves her kids. That's about the only thing separating her from a Bloody Mummer.

I'm actually most interested in the actor playing Tyrion. I'm drawing a blank on his name, but he played the little person who beats up Will Ferrell in Elf, and he was also the lead in The Station Agent. I think he's a really talented actor, and they're giving him an extremely meaty part.

I gotta see who else has been cast.

Ooooh I actually hadn't seen the Jennifer's Body ET Featurette, but I'm sure glad I got to see that kiss... and right before my Theories of Personality class. Now I'll have something to think about through lecture haha.

I LOL'd so hard for some reason when I saw that shopped photo of that lady with the guitar hanging out in the ocean with a pirate ship. It's just so. funny. Everytime I look at it I giggle a litte which earns me strange stares from people in the computer lab.

Thanks for posting those pics of Olivia. I find it kind of ironic she's a spokesperson for this new fragrance called Desire Me. It's just like, yeah Olivia, I really really do already. She is so gorgeous in those pics. Megan Fox looks stunning in those other pics too, but I really love that one of her profile the most. It's super sexy.

If you want to read the pilot for A Game of Thrones, I've got it somewhere around here. I really enjoyed the book, but I couldn't get into the sequels. I have to say, though...not excited about Glau as Cersei; they've done an awesome job with casting so far, but she doesn't seem to fit (I don't watch TSCC, but I SO SEE IT with the casting there).

Thanks for posting the stuff about V. I'm excited about the show, but I haven't been following a lot of what's going on.

Wait! They're making Song Of Ice & Fire into a series??? Dude! That's awesome. There is so much twisted deliciousness in it. Though the extremely ick part is where Cersei boinks her twin and has kids with him, while passing them off as her husband's. Ick Ick Ick. I'm not sure how well Lena can handle playing the blond, sociopathic, self-centered Cersei. Number Six would have been a much better fit for that.

What I'm really curious about is who's playing Daenerys and her maid, because they've got GOGA action coming up in the later books.

A british actress named Tamzin Merchant has been cast as the awesome mother of dragons *grin* If you go to: http://grrm.livejournal.com/103138.html you can find a bit more info about her and GRRM's impressions of her during the auditions. If you simply go to his blog: http://grrm.livejournal.com and browse back through the last month or so (he doesn't post that much so it won't take long) you can find lots of juicy info about all the other roles which have been cast.

Unfortunately, the maid hasn't been cast yet. I, too am looking forward to that, because with HBO's reputation for embracing femslash, they may chose to expand the relationship from the brief encounters to something more. Excellent on one hand, but on the other, I almost hope they don't, since I'm such a huge Drogo fangirl.

Well, my problem with the Dany/maid hookup is that the maid doesn't appear very into it. GRRM obviously needs some help writing the femslash. Hopefully, HBO will correct that. Cersei has so much Julii Cooper potential.

Game of Thrones looks really interesting. I can be a pretty shallow fan, too. But I think I might read the books even if I don't watch the show.

I'm such a wimp sometimes. That Fourth Kind trailer freaked me out ._. There's something wrong about being willing to jump out of a plane, but being afraid of the dark. Though, I'm sure I'll watch it anyway; it looked really cool.
