As for how you haven't seen it before, I was asking myself the same thing last week! Don't worry though, you haven't missed the Cordelia Chase gaylove. Trianna, her character, doesn't show up until the season 2 premiere.
I would totes recommend watching the show though. Kahlan is awesome, and Mistress Denna and Cara are panty dampeningly hot.

This. The book extension shenanigans have really enraged me. It's like a show that should have ended after the third season but is on the air for seven. It's just money grubbing and the protracted storylines are really just pissing me off. Ridiculous things have to happen to keep Rachel and Ivy apart, ridiculous and boring things. I feel like I'm reading the same book, with the characters making the same mistakes over and over again. *Ugh*
