THIS EPISODE CONTAINED ONE OF THE GREATEST SCENES EVER ON TELEVISION
That scene between Kahlan and Cara was out of this world. My god, it was like fucking porn. Tabrett's face was amazing! Cara's glee incredible. They had Cara kneeling between Kahlan's legs with her Agiel between Kahlan's thighs! Then when I thought the scene couldn't get any better, Cara got all gleefully proud of Kahlan and was looking at her like she just wanted to lick her up with a spoon! And then, then Kahlan's world is so rocked she faints, and Cara's all puppy-dog-like "Kahlan?" cause she's worried she's broken her boo.
Honestly, Tabrett's expressions throughout that entire scene were amazing. I want to have that woman's babies.
ALSO, CARA IS COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY ADORABLE!
First of all, I love that both Richard and Kahlan have learned to "speak Cara". I was all like, "awwwww" when Richard knew that Cara saying she was glad he 'wasn't going with them because he'd only slow them down' meant that she was just worried about him. And Kahlan's little smile when Cara was all like "The wizard fought well" made me melt, cause she knew it was Cara's way of expressing her sadness and respect for Zedd.
And, then, .... and then .... and then ... Cara's concern for Kahlan with her wounded legs made me swoon! She was all like, "Stay here my love, and I shall go fetch horses for us!". And then her, "I'm feeling very tired, I need to rest," practically had me jittering with love. She understands Kahlan. And she willingly made herself appear weak to protect her favorite lady! d'awwwwwwwwwwwwww x forever.
DEN - NA!!!!!!!!! OMG, I did not see that shit coming. I was like, "omg, I want to see redemption!Denna" and then BANG! arrow through the heart, and overkill fall over edge of cliff to drive the point home that the bitch is really dead this time, okay! And I was all like, "God, Cara. How so badass?" but I was also like, "Boo, you whore. You killed Denna." DAMN YOU LEGEND OF THE SEEKER TOYING WITH MY EMOTIONS SO!
The eyeliner on Bridget was OUT OF CONTROL this episode. It was ridiculous, but I loved it. I can't even look as glam as her with all of the modern amenities, yet somehow Kahlan "Mutha'fucking" Amnell manages it while sleeping in the woods? But, whatever, I don't care because the combination of the eyeliner, Kahlan's new battle gown, Cara's dildos of pain, and rockin' soundtrack gave this episode one of the most kickass fight scene I can remember seeing in a while! Kahlan and Cara are like poetry in motion together. I loved their little adventure together. They make quite a dynamic duo!
Also, just to reiterate, I officially really, really enjoy Kahlan's new battle gown! And I especially adore the way it show of Bridget's amazing, powerful, wonderful legs when she's fighting. RAWR. It's a keeper, for sure.
NEXT WEEK: T'Pol! Looking amazingly and incredibly like Angelina Jolie starring on an episode of Relic Hunter! Incredible. Can't wait.

I watched the show last night and my reaction is: SQUEEEEEE!! I love that, this season, the show is putting more of a focus on its female characters. Season one was a bit too dude heavy for me and, quite frankly, the female characters they've created are, like, 100 times more interesting than the male ones.. or maybe that's just me. Is it because I'm a lesbian?
And then, then Kahlan's world is so rocked she faints, and Cara's all puppy-dog-like "Kahlan?" cause she's worried she's broken her boo.
Of course, the biggest crime is we never got to see the scene of Cara tending to an unconscious Kahlan. But then, the idea of seeing Cara's hands all up Kahlan's thigh is enough to make my tv explode!

Really, when they're both on screen together it's like your brain almost short-circuit due to critical excesses of pretty.
And I'm pretty sure you've sold me on this show anyway so I need to start watching it, especially since nearly everything else is on hiatus.
OMG, do it! You will not be disappointed. It is a really, really good show. The pilot is a bit plodding, but don't let that stop you from watching. It gets rolling quickly and once you get on this crazy train you'll never want to get off!

Just look at all the pretty girls (oh god, Bridget in this episode... words can not express) who can also act some to maintain the suspension of disbelief. I have to admit though, even if Richard is slowly becoming more powerful than God in a way that is nothing but self-parody, I am interested of this particular plot-thread.
Watching this show is like walking on the moon; it's kinda cool and awesome if you just don't look down and see that it's all made out of... cheese.
While Jolene made an ok vulcan in Trek, I thought Enterprise was mostly crap. It had no ambition. At all. All the stories were completely pedestrian. Then again my fav trek is DS9, maybe I'm just weird.

Date: 2010-01-17 04:57 pm (UTC)I think you're right. I think my brain was just overheated and feverish from all of the awesome to properly appreciate that they had just set up a new arc for her, the character is really popular, and they didn't find a body.
One has to consider what torment a young girl goes through in order to get turned into a Mord-Sith. Also the desire for love and acceptance being biologically stamped painfully strong into the collective genome of the social animal.
I feel very bad for the Mord'Sith. I'm glad to see Cara learning and developing now, and I'd love to see a redemption arc for Denna as well. The last scene with Denna and Zedd showed that she would like to be different but doesn't know how. How Denna has been acting is a lot what Cara would have been like without Richard and Kahlan's guidance.
Mord'Sith want to be loved too!

Like the sisters of light were dropping like flies for this guy, and he's all like "my quest, my quest", and I'm like "Bitch, you can't save the world if ur dead!" I know Kahlan has a great rack and everything but it's like, "Rich, handle your shit then save the world okay? Kahlan's boobs will stay be there when you get back. Don't worry, okay, Cara will keep them warm for you!"
I kept thinking 'forget about him, take me back to Cara and Kahlan or Zedd and Denna!' because those two-somes rocked.

I was convinced of it once I that little scene in Ressurection when Cara apologized to Kahlan's sister and Kahlan got all dreamy eyed, sort of. We are probably going to see some supped up subtext in the next few episodes.
I remember reading an articles, I'll try to find it, where Bridget Reagan remarked that one of the bigger storylines this season, and the one she finds most interesting, is the Kahlan/Cara relationship. I'll be crossing my fingers that her definition of 'intersting' is like mine, i.e. hot monky sex!
