Unable to plausibly explain to the authorities what happened - or why she's covered in her friends' blood - Sarah is forced back to the subterranean depths to help locate her five missing companions.
Notes:  The Descent Part 2 is a really frakking good movie.  I am shocked, but oh so pleased.  I honestly thought that the movie was going to be terrible due to the fact that the first one didn't really seem to leave room for a second, and that a new director was coming on board, but this movie was very, very, very true to the original.  And what is truly remarkable about it is that it actually fits perfectly with the events of the first film.

I started watching this yesterday, but three minutes in I found myself irritated by all the people, and turned off. Now it's been endorsed, I'll give it another go *g*.

I won't even grumble about them screwing up the real, pessimistic ending to the first film.

When they get to Sarah it picks up, and then when they get into the caves is when it starts to get good. When Sarah gets her memory back is when it starts to get awesome.

The new peeps other than Rios are kind of annoying, and the Sheriff is a complete asshole who I wanted to die for the whole movie.

As for the mindfuck ending of the first one, by the end of this movie they actually kind of find a way to make it work (in fact this movie kind of makes both the good UK ending and the dumb American ending work).

Seriously, give it a chance. You will end up laughing (when hardcore!Sarah returns she gets some mint lines), cheering out loud, yelling at people to die, and tearing up.

What?!?! How did I not know about this, the original is one of my very favorite movies ever. A sequel does seem weird, but I'll trust your judgment here. *downloads* :)

The original is one of my favorite movies ever as well. I've watched it a ridiculous amount of times.

I didn't think that a sequel would work either, but imho it really did. It also explained some unanswered questions from the first one (and fit in with both endings of the first film) and it gave me a sense of closure.

I think it was a very worthy sequel.

Oh thank goodness! The first film was the shit! Not your typical helpless girls running around trying to escape from monsters. And it helps that the cast is hot! Too bad Beth and her accent won't be in the sequel.

Yes, and the same elements that made the first one awesome are here. Namely the women an are not pansy's they are BAMFs.

It's sad that Beth and her hot accent aren't in it, but that just gives you an excuse to watch the first one again before watching this so that you can get your dose of Beth ;)

I absolutely love the first one, and think this is a very worthy follow up. Nothing could really top the first one, but this definitely is of a similar quality.

I just watched the second and I have to say it makes me want to beat some random old dude down. It is a really good movie and I was not expecting a second one so when I heard I had to look at it. Now that its over I kinda hate old guys and really wish they make a new one with new girls that are BAMFs. last seconds of it made me piss myself to >.

lol! I know. We had to wait far too long in this one for the girl power to come busting out. I'd love to see these creatures actually get it given to them, but I'm scared to see more people sent down there. I'd love to see a group of girls make it out and then like bomb those caves to high heaven. The Descent Part 3 maybe, it can be like Rios' Daughters Revenge or something, lol

I got the forboding of the old dude with the wink, but wtf. Why did he do it? Like unless he thinks he's protecting the general populace by allowing the creepers to feed on humans.

The concept that he would even get away with it is silly as the other deputy knew they were going down there.

I love the descent but I thought the ending of descent 2 was lazy and uninspiring.

The first movie was wonderful and amazing and I loved it. Sarah definitely kicked ass, and Juno was no slouch herself either.

Don't worry, Sarah kicks ass in the second one too even though she's a bit 'fragile' shall we say at the beginning.

Oh look, after many days I've come back to squee! I seriously only now had a chance to watch it. And holy shit it was good. The beginning had me yawning but I trusted you when you said it would get better and you were right. How awesome were the ladies, so much love for them. "Hack his arm off!" "OK!" *blood spatter on face* Fucking brilliant. Sure the very end sucked because it would've been nice to have someone survive. But who wants to ship Juno and Sarah so hard right now??? *waves hand frantically* Maybe I'll just imagine they ended up hacking all the creatures to pieces together...
