Ugly Betty - 1x14 - Brother and Sisters
I'm totally on the Ugly Betty love train once more, and I promise never to get off of it again. Love, love, love.
Walter: I have a coupon for the baked potato bar!
Daniel: Sorry...I had a potato for breakfast.
Danny: "She used to like taking us to clothes museum."
Alexis: "Those were stores, you dumbass."
and then later in the episode ...
Danny: "C'mon mum, if you get out of there, we can go to the clothing museum."
Alexis: "Seriously, you're such an idiot."
Claire: What's that noise? I didn't pass out in a Mexican whore house again did I?
Justin: "SNAP!"
Bully's mom: "You're a mother. Why don't you try looking like one?"
Hilda: "Well, you're a woman. Why don't you try looking like one?"
(Evelyn is watching her telenovela)
Evelyn: "So she used to be a stripper but now she's pregnant with the butcher's baby, but he's really her second cousin!"
Wilhelmina: "A story as old as time."
SOAWSOME!
Judith Light is made of awesome, pretty much everything involving Claire Meade last night was pure brilliance. In fact, basically everything Meade on this show is love. I totally dug all of the Daniel/Alexis scenes, from her slapping him in the face with his own hand and throwing her shoe at him, to them attacking each other with bumper cars, to Alexis accusing Daniel of staring at her chest. Awesome. Rebecca Romijn rocks my socks! I've always kind of liked her, but as Alexis Meade she's made me fall in love with her. *dreamy sigh* I hope they don't get rid of Alexis at the end of the season, I don't know how I'd go on without her.
Also, Vanessa Williams continues to rock as Wilhemina, and I continue to adore Marc and Amanda though there wasn't enough Amanada this episode. Also, Hilda = bestest mom ever (well, Claire's easy acceptance of Alexis was really awesome as well, but because Hilda isn't a drunk and a murderer she wins).
Plus, pretty Cesar from "Alias" was on it, which reminded me of Mia Maestro as Nadia, which made me smile.
I think I'll be hitting a "clothes museum" this weekend.

Date: 2007-02-09 10:00 pm (UTC)I heart that show muchly. And Meadecest is so hot! The "clothes museums" floored me every time. And yay for Justin being a "sissy" that kicks ass! I won't go on and on because you have pretty much said all of the things that I feel about the show...except no mention of the fabulous Chris Gorham as Henry. I hated him as Harrison (I make no secret of my Harrison hatred) but I love him as Henry. I am a definite Betty/Henry shipper and hopefully they won't keep them apart for too long.

I've encountered at least three people today who don't love Ugly Betty and it made me fear for humanity. Whatever, the student that agreed with me that Ugly Betty is awesome and Alexis rocks is getting an "A", lol.
And Meadecest is so hot!
So hot. And last night was like Meadecest heaven.
The "clothes museums" floored me every time.
Oh I know. Mabius nailed that everytime with his sweet clueless, and Romijn's exasperation with him was too funny.
I was really glad that Justin didn't get bashed but was just standing up for his Moms. Oh, and Santos, if the hair pulling and sratching works then leave him be. If he could take THAT kid down, I think he'll be fine twirling his umbrella for as long as he wants.
I hated him as Harrison (I make no secret of my Harrison hatred) but I love him as Henry.
Oh, I couldn't effing stand Harrison. I hated him with the white hot intensity of a thousand suns. I don't dislike Gorham but some of that Harrison hate has stained him forever. I do like Henry though, his 'popping and locking' thing from last week was comedy gold. I just got overwhelmed by everyone else's overthetopness that Henry's cute normalacy got lost in translation (I also forgot that Christina wasn't even in the episode!)
Also, you're icon is true love! Can I snag it?

I'm guessing the abundance of Alexis meant that other characters screen time had to get cut. I want Christina and AMANDA! (in a bigger dose) back next though. I really hope that RR stays around for more than one season. I mean, she was gonna do TV with Pepper Dennis anyway, so why not stick around on this show which doesn't suck and allows her to rock hardcore?
