Dollhouses have never seemed so cool

Whedon and Dushku Play with Dollhouse - see link for full article
Variety says Dushku will star in the Whedon-penned series "Dollhouse," which has been given a seven-episode order by Fox.
"Dollhouse" follows a top-secret world of people programmed with different personalities, abilities and memories depending on their mission. After each assignment -- which can be physical, romantic or even illegal -- the characters have their memories wiped clean, and are sent back to a lab (dubbed the "Dollhouse").
The show centers on Dushku's character, Echo, as she slowly begins to develop some self-awareness, which impacts her missions.
*hops from one foot to the other* ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod!
Joss and Eliza working together again = win
Concept of the show = win
Eliza playing a sex-ass spy with issues = win
It's official Dollhouse FTW!
I am SO happy with this news! Let's just hope that FOX has learned its lesson when it comes to Joss and that it will give Dollhouse a full season. After they screwed the pooch with Firefly, hopefully they've realized that Joss Whedon shows attract awesomely fanatical fans and that these people will physically force others to watch it and that the numbers will grow.

Yeah, that's pretty much gonna be me too. I'm gonna want to show restraint, but then more and more is gonna be released about the show and I'm going to fall completely in love with it before it even airs *prays that it starts out strong ratings wise*

Date: 2007-11-01 11:53 am (UTC)That said, I hope the show lasts long enough for Joss to do a take-off on the "undercover as a fashion model" episode. The premise practically demands it and it's the one female-oriented cliche he hasn't put a twist on so far. Plus, it's Eliza and Joss, so... slashy!

Date: 2007-11-01 09:28 pm (UTC)lol, I guess Fox is like me in Physics or math class then. Then again, I did manage to luck out in both of those classes, so hopefully even though Fox as a network will remain completely idiotic they'll luck out and manage to keep Dollhouse around.

Aw, one of my favorite cliche episodes of a show. I even liked it on Painkiller Jane, and I liked nothing on Painkiller Jane (except for the Lokinator). You know if this episode never happens now, I'm going to be completely crushed.
You should totally fic it a year down the road if Joss drops the ball!

Date: 2007-11-01 09:31 pm (UTC)Quite frankly, I didn't love the Nurses concept so I'm glad it didn't get picked up so that this project could be created. I love Eliza so much more when she's being badass and sci-fi. So, yeah for Nurses sucking (and for Fox having enough sense to realize Eliza's a star)!
Another Joss show. This is so made of win.
I know! *dance of joy*
*thinks of Drive and tries to contain excitement until a full season pick up is announced*
Oh, eff that *dance of joy*

Date: 2007-11-01 09:33 pm (UTC)I understand. One must be injected with new, fresh doses of Eliza. Finally the suppliers have realized there's a demand and are going to start sending out weekly shipments, lol.

I feel like this is asking the rain to rain less, but yeah, I hope so too. Even if it's just dumb luck I hope this show makes it. I really can't take Fox crushing my heart again. And it's Eliza and JOSS! *wants this show to do well so badly*

Date: 2007-11-01 09:35 pm (UTC)Do it! This news totally deserves spontaneous dancing!
Fox, please don't cancel this show and please somehow let there be a crossover episode with the Sarah Connor Chronicles.
I'm pulling for both of these shows. I want weekly Lena and I want weekly Eliza. If Fox lets both of these shows go on for multiple seasons it will go along way towards mending our relationship. I'll still always hold some resentment because of the sheer number of shows I loved that they canceled, but it's a step in the right direction.

Date: 2007-11-02 09:50 pm (UTC)I know! It's like the curse of Fox. They keep on developing these awesome shows and then they totally abandon them before they've even had a shot. Why Fox, why do you have to be such a bad, neglectful parent?
having said that...this is the best news i've heard in a very long time.
I know. I know I should try and be stoic and not get invested in it, but I can't not with the players that are involved in it.

Date: 2007-11-07 09:43 pm (UTC)Anyways, I can't wait for this show to air! Even though I love Eliza, I thought Tru Calling was crap =/.
