Great minds! Dina Meyer is really PERFECT for Rachel. Just everything about her fits perfectly with the character.

I really like Maggie as a visual image for Ivy. Ivy's described as having "somewhat Oriental features" (that description cracks me up for some reason) and Maggie's half-Chinese/half-white which fits. She got the cinnamon brown, almond eyes, and this kind of timeless grace to her. Not to mention she gorgeous. Plus, after seeing Live Free, Die Hard (or whatever the last Die Hard movie was called), Maggie can be fucking fierce too. Like she was a brawler in that major fight scene she had with Willis, so I could totally picture her working the physical threat of aura!Ivy and manhandling!Ivy (both incarnations of Ivy that I am extremely fond of, lol)

LOL i love how many people thought of Dina Meyer as Rachel. after seeing that youtube clip you linked, i can totally picture Maggie Q as Ivy now. she looks so tall in the pics and Ivy's taller than Rachel. hell, if i'd've read The Hollows/your post before the movie came out, i'd've gone to see Mission Impossible 3 in the cinema. as it is, i have to hunt it down now; it's so gay! oh and i need to take a good look at Die Hard 4 too. i don't know Mylene but she looks interesting as well. in book 5, Ivy's described as looking like a construction worker's calendar girl lol. mmm i love that image.

Oh, I know! It's awesome. Damn, if only it could be. Seriously, I wouldn't give a shit if they aged Rachel a few years so Dina could STILL play her. Dina's aging like a fine wine, ain't nobody gonna complain about that casting.

The gay in the video I linked to comes from Naked Weapon (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0341495/), I think. It's definitely not from MI:3 (much to my disappointment since I've seen MI:3). I'm going to watch Naked Weapon as soon as possible though.

I've only seen her in Les Filles du botaniste (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0425985/), but she was good in it, and excellent at bringing the gay. She's French though (I'm not even sure if she knows English), so Ivy would have a really sexy accent (which I wouldn't complain about!).

I'm about halfway through book 2 now, and it's so incredibly gay. I'm so happy. I just got through the scene where Ivy asked Rachel to be her scion, and omg it was so wrong yet so hot. And I know Nick turns out to be a major douche (though not why) but it cracked me up how he like totally expected Rachel to pick Ivy over him. It's like, "Dude are you her rival, or her publicist. Talk her up more dude, and you'll be sleeping alone tonight." I'm with him though, I'm bewildered as to how Rachel managed to resist. Ivy's confused "No?" after Rachel said it cracked me up too. You know that girl doesn't get turned at all often.

This equals truth. Just furthers my theory that Rachel is really not that bright, lol. OMG, I wanted to slap her so much when I was reading the scene where she was trapsing all over the crime scene at Kalamack's estate. It's like, "Rachel, dude. You're funny and kickass but sometimes you are really not that smart and hella annoying". Rachel and Ivy really are suited for each other, they're probably the only people who can put up with the others bullshit! They've gotta hook up!

OMG! am watching Naked Weapon. thanks! the shower scene in the beginning is sooooo ghey! all that nekkidness and soaping and hugging... *moans* despite how bad the movie is and some disturbing scenes, i can totally understand why someone said they couldn't stop watching. i was mesmerised. O.O even had to pause now and then and stare. :P

That rape scene was totally unnecessary (and didn't fit the tone of the film at all). I mean, there are so many things wrong with this movie, but this is the only thing that actually really pissed me off about it.

This! OMG, THIS! I just finished book two in it, and after Ivy hits on her in the sancutary after sparring, Rachel goes on this big long rant about how Ivy's actions were about need for her blood, but it WASN'T sexual. And then a little while later, she says that the way Kisten effected her was the SAME as how Ivy affected her, only with him she tried to jump his bones! UGH! It's like everyone in the freaking world can see her attraction to Ivy, except for her. Even freaking Ceri who was a demon puppet for a thousand years figured out Rachel and Ivy's deal within minutes of meeting them. *sigh* This series is gonna be constant frustration for me.

I know. So annoying. It's like, Ivy is the ultimate badgirl. If Rachel is turned on by danger, she should be creaming herself around Ivy. Also, if she gets off on being dominant she should also be creaming herself around Ivy, because Ivy submits to her wishes all the time. It's like, Rachel goes on about "maybe being able to handle a submissive vampire (re: Kisten)", but IVY IS SUBMISSIVE WITH HER TOO. Once again, another character even notes that Rachel is the dominant one, and Rachel constantly uses this fact to calm Ivy down. DOUBLE UGH!

I guess I also just don't understand Rachel's internal gay panic. It's like she's 24, not 44. She should be learning new things about herself all the time. Also, she'll seems to be willing to sleep with anything (human, vampire, elf, she even checked out Jenks for Tink's sake!) so I can't concieve of how being attracted to a woman would freak her out. It's like she's a demon familiar, people are trying to kill her all the time, but liking girl kisses is scary for her???? UGH.

Whatever. I'm still gonna keep reading. I'm a glutton for punishment (no wonder I like Ivy so much)

yes! and that scene in Spain where she and Charlene were talking just before Charlene went into the wall and the bad guys broke in, i was so chanting "Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!" but they didn't. so disappointed, that was a kissing moment for sure.

That was so a "kiss! kiss!" moment. Watching this movie was like watching "Alexander" for me, with all of the hugs substituting for actual kissing/sexual content. It was frustrating in that, and it was frustrating here.

I'm enjoying things as they're going now. Do you know if the book coming out in Feburary is the last one in the series? If so I'm gonna have to step up my reading, because I don't want to get spoiled (especially if it's not news on the Ivy/Rachel front) and not finish the series.

But, yeah. These two definitely provide a lot of jumping off spots for fanfic.

No idea. If Kim's gonna finish it, then I hope it's with Rachel and Ivy getting together and Rachel somehow figuring out how to let Ivy keep her soul after she dies.
