I'm gonna go with the whole "her subconscious actively avoids the issue" thing. That, and I think she's been through enough "being weird" as a kid (the whole 'fatal disease' bit, plus her brother kind of disowning her for being a runner) that she automatically shies away from anything that might make her more different, like being gay / Ivy's scion.

That said, yeah, I wanna smack her for being so dense on occasion. xD But didn't she know Ivy was bi before the third book? I swear she mentioned it before - she just hadn't had it dangled blatantly in front of her. Plus, her whole conversation with Skimmer in the first chapters of FaFDM kinda had her realizing that she did love Ivy. And now that Skimmer's out of the way . . .

Frick, I have GOT to get Outlaw Demon Wails. And the new one when it comes out.

This is true, like how she can make a huge circle, way bigger than Nick or her mom, or anyone she knows, but she doesn't want to think about why she can do it. She just wants to dismiss it as no big deal.

Yeah, still it's annoying as fuck. I mean, anyone who would potentially 'la la la I can't hear you' away their soulmate really deserves what's coming to them. I mean, it's not like Rachel's a complete social pariah, she's got people that care about her (and people seem to fall for her left right and center) so she needs to grow up a little and realize that nobody is really normal, and go with what is best for her ... not some random person on the street. It's like the woman is 24 (I'm guessing probably 26 or so by the sixth book), not 14.

I don't know. I don't think she knew. Her reaction to seeing Ivy and Skimmer in Book 3 really makes me think she had no clue. Like even after Ivy and Skimmer kissed on the lips, Rachel was still trying to work through it all like ... "They 'kissed' kissed on the lips. But girls don't kiss-kiss on the lips unless ... OMG ... GAYS!" Like she was so surprised, and then went on for a paragraph about how slow she was figuring it out (which earned her a few points. A least she knows she's a dumbass ... sometimes)
