Drama Box Question
THi Kim!!! Since its April 1, I can ask my question about WWBC, although its not really a spoiler. Anyway, when Rachel is picking up her brother that the airport, she sees a woman greeting her partner with their children. Then she is sad that her and Ivy's relationship will never be recognized like that. First, awesome scene and a nod to other families. Second, how can Rachel not want to be with Ivy after a thought like that? Seriously, people don't have those kind of thoughts about normal friends. Honestly, I think that Rachel is just so scared she would lose Ivy that she is not even letting herself consider the possibility. Look at how their auras merged to become one in ODW. Ok, I'm done stating my case for time being. smile.gif I'm lovin' the book!!!~Indy

Cock-Blocks Answer
4/1/09 -- Hi, Indy. It's complicated. Rachel is smart enough to know that some things come with so many attachments, that to follow them will lead to disaster. Yes, you can try, but at some point, it's going to fall apart. Ivy is my tragic figure, and she will be happy when I'm done even if I have to kill her to do it. (just kidding) Ivy will be happy, but it won't be with Rachel. And Rachel is going to have to live with that. --Kim

My Response
That sounds pretty conclusive to me.

The nicest thing I can say is, at least she finally manned up and has stopped intentionally fucking with the hopes of Ravy fans.

So, on the one hand ... I'm free! I no longer do I have to worry about how I'm going to get through 6 more books. The answer: I don't! I'm done. I'm retiring from the stage. Adios. Sayonara. Goodbye. And, there's something in having that resolved at least. A clean break and all that.

Mostly, I'm feeling like this towards Cock Block however:

Because, while she didn't owe me a Ravy ending to the series, she made me hope for it, and for books, and books, and books was tease about the whole fucking thing and so ...

Thanks for the memories!  It was good for a while between us bb, but it got ugly real fast!  Buh-bye.

*gets ready to start programming my brain into believing, utterly and completely, that the series ended with book five*

Looks like it's strictly fanficly from now on ... my heart is sad, but I guess my wallet can rest easy.

*sigh*

So, yeah ... there's that.

Rachel is smart enough to know that

Okay, first, never begin a sentence with "Rachel is smart."

that some things come with so many attachments, that to follow them will lead to disaster. Yes, you can try, but at some point, it's going to fall apart.

WTF? She isn’t trying to say all of those type of relationships end badly, is she?

And Rachel is going to have to live with that.

Not even. This is ridiculous. I'm starting to think that cock-block is just as pompous as Rachel is. Maybe I was right, and Rachel is her Sasha Fierce. I really hope we don't find out that Ivy is based on some poor girl.

Her entire comment/reply makes me irate. She should not have jerked us around, it is wrong. Not to mention bad planning. A part of me really hopes she listens to her fans, and realises what a douche she has been by teasing us. But if she is anything like Rachel... well, enough said.

I hope someone writes her a scathing letter about this.

This. Utterly and completely this.

WTF? She isn’t trying to say all of those type of relationships end badly, is she?

Of course not! Just look at the loving and stable relationship between Ivy and Skimmer ... oh, wait ... yeah.

I don't think Kim is a homophobe who hates teh ghey, I just think she's scared of writing an honest to god gay relationship. Rachel's gay panic is a direct result of Kim's uncomfortableness. She said Ivy will be in a happy relationship with a woman (to pander to her les/bi/gay fans without actually giving them what they want), but I bet you we see little to no interaction between Ivy and this mystery woman, because 1) Rachel never pays any attention to someone unless it directly affects her, which can be seen in her not realizing Ivy and Glenn are dating 2) Kim doesn't really want to write f/f anyway, so getting Ivy together with a periphery female means everything can happen "off stage".

Maybe I was right, and Rachel is her Sasha Fierce.

I think you WERE right. Completely. Cock Block reasoning for things sounds very Rachel-esque.

I think I've realized that my main problem is that I don't like Rachel all that much. She's irritating most of the time, and okay at the best of times. I like Ivy. I'm in it for Ivy. But the author isn't. Which means the character I actually relate to, feel for, and care about will continue to get screwed so that the annoying, irritating lead can do whatever she wants.

I really hope we don't find out that Ivy is based on some poor girl.

Probably is. And I'm sure that Cock Block angsted for a long time about not being able to return this girls feelings. I'm sure it made her feel like totally so terrible about everything, and why does she have to go through these things. She didn't want to be so super awesome that girls fall in love with her, but she just is so super awesome that she can't control it and ends up breaking hearts. Life is hard sometimes.

But if she is anything like Rachel...

This is why I really have no hope of ending to this all that won't enrage me.

I hope someone writes her a scathing letter about this.

I would. For once in my life I finally have the desire to, but I don't think I could without it turning really, really ranty. And I don't think it would make a difference anyway, people talking to Rachel never does.
