Other shit happened in this episode that was actually pretty good:
 
1)  Alex tried to move in with Nikita so that they could sex all day long, and Nikita was all like, "Oh, noes.  How am I supposed to fit in all of this sexin' with two people AND save the world?" (It's a hard life she lives). 

2)  Nathan served a purpose and had a funny line.  Alex and Jaden had a sexy sexy girlfight. I amused myself imaging Nathan walking in on it and thinking they were getting it on and that Alex was breaking up with him cause she's a sexy lezza.  Then I was disappointed that IRL he didn't think they were getting it on ...

3) But then Jaden got hardcore killinated and I was like DAMMMMMMMMMN! 

4) Nikita saved some people. 

5)  Lyndsy Fonseca somehow managed to vomit into a kitchen sink with class (who does she think she is, Betty Draper?)

But then the last scene came around and Amanda was all like "Ha, ha, bitch!  Jaden had a bionic ear!" and pwned Alex and it made the rest of the episode (as good as it was) look like cold diarrhea!

P.S.  Dammit, Nikita!  Stop taking strolls in the fucking park and patting yourself on the pack and check in on your girlfriend who called you in tears because there was a dead body in her apartment!  Like, I know Alex is badass and all, but a "Baby, dead bodies are the worst.  Don't worry though, Momma bears coming home to kiss the emotional trauma away" wouldn't have been too much.  Call your girlfriend!

Can it be next Nikiturday nao, plz???

Heh. This episode wasn't the most riveting, but I didn't hate it either. The opening scene with Alex and Nikita was pretty good, and the Alex/Jaden fight (Alex's call to Nikita, and Alex's scene with the cleaner) was also pretty good for me. The ending was the best part by far though. Most of the episode was pretty 'meh' though.

I have to watch the Amanada-Alex scene because I don't know how you can step on someone's throat in heels and not puncture their windpipe or jugular.

Now you need to write a fic where Amanda keeps Alex chained to the wall in her underground lair and does unspeakable things to her. And then Nikita comes to rescue Alex and stuff happens.

This is starting to sound like a Nikita in the LotS verse fic...

Can't you just see Amanda as a Mord'Sith or the Lady Rahl who is also a Mord'Sith. And Nikita as the Mother Confessor and Alex as the only other Confessor left. And in between thwarting Mord'Sith Lady Rahl Amanda, Mother Confessor Nikita is trying to find a way to have magical Confessor babies with Alex so the line of Confessors doesn't die out!

You should definitely watch the Amanda-Alex scene because it was awesome. Basically Amanda stepped on her throat with the flat part of the shoe where her toes would be, and the heel of the shoe was at the side of Alex's neck.

I love how Lyndsy plays Alex fangirl smiling over Nikita's awesomeness. Anytime Nikita talks about winning over Division Alex just busts out in a "that's right, my girlfriend is AWESOME" smile. And the crooked smile she shot her after "when out meant Fiji" melted my heart.

And its so cute, Alex wants to be just like Nikita. I remember back when I was young and thought I wanted to BE like all these pretty ladies, only to realize years later it was because I actually wanted to get in their pants...I'm just sayin...

4) Nikita saved some people. I know right? Least important part of the episode. tho I have to admit, Mikita didn't bother me TOO much this week, even his speech to Nik was sweet. I still need Shane to invest in some acting lessons in the offseason tho. Maggie however, she's been killing it lately, subtlely giving Nikita more layers.

This! It's so true and I love it. Alex is just so damn CUTE when she's around Nikita. As much as we love Nikita, Alex is the ultimate fangirl, lol.

There've been a few Mikita scenes where I was like, "If he was a better actor/had more than one expression, this scene/line might have been cute". This! The show is lucky they have Maggie cause she sure is selling it. That girl has chemistry with EVERYTHING, so its astonishing how there is such a lack with Shane. I was watching some Priest interviews and thought Karl Urban would have made a great Michael.

I actually hated Nathan this episode. I mean, how *dumb* can he be? His girlfriend tells him she's part of a covert government group of assassins and when he's introduced to one of her co-workers, he's all 'it's snarky asshole time'. While Alex could have handled the situation with Jaden better, Nathan basically got Jaden killed. Okay, it was actually Alex for falling for the jerk in the first place.. but I prefer blaming Nathan and can't wait for the day he's finally gone.

This is actually why I DIDN'T hate Nathan this episode. Don't get me wrong, I didn't LIKE him, but for the first time he acted like an actual person.

Jaden getting shot and all of the bullshit that happened was ALEX'S fault. How she expected she could tell a normal, everyday person that she was a government assassin without producing any evidence beyond the fact that she's not home a lot and some sketchy guy showed up at her place one time is beyond me. Most people would have reacted just as Nathan did, with disbelief and probably some anger about being lied to or dismissed in what must seem to be a rude/insulting manner.

Alex shouldn't have told him anything. She should have been smart, packed up and left. Her thinking that he would just believe her, and that he would just pack up his whole life because she said so was incredibly naive and stupid.

Nathan's dumb and boring and I wish the character had never been introduced, but imo the blame for everything that went down lies with Alex and her bad/decisions.

I still love Alex, but she definitely made her own bed with the whole Nathan situation and then handling Jaden badly. For someone who has lied so well on the spot before, the writers really had Alex drop the ball in that scene with Jaden. She really should have played it off as a joke she told him to leave her alone because she knew he wouldn't believe her and it'd make him think she was a bitch (kind of like Nikita telling that bouncer that she was an assassin in the Kenzi episode). She could have also mentioned that Michael ordered her to get rid of him immediately, which is why Nathan seemed so mad, cause she had to break up with him abruptly, hence the 'bitch act'. That way if Jaden did call it in, Michael could back up her story.

So true. That was really terrible writing. Alex does not cry over nothing. A division agent dead in her apartment is serious. I understood Nikita having to be brief in order to deal with her own situation, but once the situation with the guardian was over, getting back to/checking up on Alex should have been priority number 1.

The writers let our girls down this episode for sure.

-The entire Alex/Nathan interaction throughout the series gets a "V" (vomit-inducing) rating from me. And now it adds injury to insult. They didn't really bother to develop Jayden's character beyond some basics (and they should have), and now they just wasted her. The scene where Nathan shoots Jayden had me palming my face hard and the little "umm whatcha say" tune playing in my head, so stupid it was.

-The episodic characters. No, I don't care about you, get out. The writers don't even bother creating any real drama... like in the original series, where there were at least several instances of the mark's close ones getting in the way, getting shot and then Nikita being remorseful.

-Another overall series problem: I don't really care about Alex. Yeah, she kinda is like, ehm... Nikita from the original series, but with a twist... whatever. Some caring was gained on her big reveal episode, but not much.

-Which leads to the ending scene, which I enjoyed!... for completely wrong reasons. You see, Amanda is actually captured correctly from the original series (Madeline), even though she's terribly, horribly under-used here. So, when she confronted Alex, I got very excited. When she knocked Alex down with one punch, I said in my Shao Kahn voice: "EXCELLENT!". And when she put her heel on Alex's throat, I said: "FINISH HER!".

And a part of me wished that she will do just that. That would make really good drama, you know.
Of course, all the other part of me know that we can't have thaaaaat.

I hate Alex/Nathan, but this was the only episode where I wasn't tempted to the mute the screen when they were on. Nathan finally acted like a normal person, Alex continuing that farce of a relationship finally had consequences, and the two of them 'being together' finally added something to the plot.

I hated that Jaden got killed off right when she was getting interesting (I wanted to see how the relationship with her and Alex would progress, if Jaden would actually come to trust Alex or if it would be a mole/mole game with Alex on Team Nikita and Jaden on Team Amanda). But her death DID shock me, and again, it moved the plot forward.

Plus, it makes Amanda even more terrifying because you know she let Jaden leave with instructions to seek out Alex because she was hoping they would get into an argument and what happened or something like it would happen as a result.

Another overall series problem: I don't really care about Alex.

Aw, I love Alex. I like the character and think Lyndsy Fonseca does a great job with her, so all of the Alex screen-time makes me happy. I can see how fans of the Nikita character could get frustrated though, as Alex has gotten a lot of focus put on her. She's more accessible to me (and has been since the beginning) than Nikita though, I understand Alex better than Nikita so far. The writers have done a far better job fleshing Nikita out in the second half of the season though, and Maggie's knocked what they've given her out of the park. I just wish the writers had used the Alex/Nikita partnership to flesh Nikita out instead of this boring Mikita arc.

I'm so with you on this. I've been loving the scenes with them. Lyndsy and Tiffany have great chemistry together and the way the characters interact with each other and what they bring out in each other is interesting.

I wanted to see how the relationship with her and Alex would progress, if Jaden would actually come to trust Alex or if it would be a mole/mole game with Alex on Team Nikita and Jaden on Team Amanda.

Word. Thank god, Mikita hasn't been as vomitous as it was in the first episode back after the hiatus, but it's not been good or interesting either. I don't mind Nikita and Michael when they are just working together, but as soon as the interactions switch into something that is supposed to be romantic things become really awkward. I'm just counting down until Mikita is torn apart (though, I'm sure the writers will throw another relationship at Nikita that makes me cringe ... and since I suspect it might be with Ryan whom I loathe, I'm almost scared about the end of Mikita)

I'm interested in how the writers are going to continue writing Mikita when they've brought them together earlier than intended.. it's only the end of S1 ffs. I give them a third into S2 at most before they break them up and do all sorts of weird things that will have the Mikita shippers up in arms before bringing them back together again in the finale.

...just as long as Mikita doesn't become the focus of the show and screw it up.
