...Best Damn Tapper! *Most Smartest*

So, I just got back from seeing Rise: The Blood Hunter and it was a hot mess. I'm not really sure how it got released in theaters because everything about it screamed 'straight to DVD'. That being said, it fell into that 5ive Girls category of so bad it's really, really entertaining.

Overall, I have to say that I was mostly entertained and there were a lot of muttered comments and laughs watching this. Most of the laughs were unintentional due to the awfulness of just about everything about the film, but in it's utter terribleness there was some beauty.

So, yeah if you like 'so bad they loop around to being good' movies, then you'd probably enjoy this. I'd wait for the DVD to come out though (which will probably be in like two weeks since it's probably going to be yanked from theaters like Monday) so that you can laugh, and point and mock as loudly as you want.

So, I've been feeling the loss of Blade the Series accutely lately *curses the heavens* And while news of this movie does not at all take away the sting, it makes it a little better, kind of like a glass of sherry after a really crappy day.

The movie is Rise which stars Lucy Liu as a reporter, Sadie Blake, wakes up in a morgue to find herself a member of the undead and vows to seek revenge against the sect that put her there and hunts them down. While Carla Gugino plays a vampire femme fatale named Eve who is dark, sexual and plays a role in initiating Sadie into the world of vampirism (covered in blood, naked and with her tongue - no I'm not joking).

teh_no had a very nice clip from youtube of some blood play action between Gugino and Liu (see naked with tongue comment above) but the studios are quick these days and have already taken it down (boo hiss). It was pretty hot though (and in a Khase way ... awww, this movie goes where Blade the Series would have gone if SpikeTV wasn't such a punk-ass bitch)



The release date is slated as June 1st, 2007. *le sigh* The trailer for this movie cannot come soon enough ;)
