OMG, funniest shit ever!
Aug. 19th, 2008 09:45 pmFor anyone out there who absolutely can't stand Edward Cullen, you have to read this! I've been laughing out loud for like the last half hour. This is just so, so, Edward. Only instead of pissing me off it makes me LOL til it hurts.
Edward Cullen is a 40 year old mother on a bad day
OMG, so good.

saint_renegade: edward would be so disgusted

oxymoronassoc: WHO HAS BEEN LOOKING AT THIS VILE FILTH ON THE COMPUTER? WHO?
oxymoronassoc: EMMETT!! I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU! THIS IS IRREPREHENSIBLE!!!!
saint_renegade: I MARCHED WITH WOMEN FOR THEIR RIGHT TO VOTE, EMMETT
saint_renegade: DO YOU THINK I AM GOING TO WATCH THEM BE PUT DOWN IN THIS WAY?
saint_renegade: AND ENJOY IT?
Just brilliant.
God, I hate Edward. I hate him so much. This however, gives him a reason for existing (has given me 10x the entertainment the books did).

Date: 2008-08-20 04:14 am (UTC)Me and a friend made a pact to read the books together to share the pain. She's stuck on page 200 of Twilight. Me? I'm stuck on page one!
Oh, and have you read

Date: 2008-08-20 04:26 am (UTC)You are so lucky you have someone to share the pain with. My RL friends do not understand what this book is doing to me. I hate myself so much, but I can't stop.

OMG, the same thing happened to me. I read like the first 200 pages in two days, and then didn't touch the book again for 7 months because I was traumatized, by Edward sparkling in the glade.
If it helps, the way I got through it, was by skipping over any scene that only involved Edward and Bella (which actually lets you skip over quite a bit). I would scan until I saw someone else's name and then start reading again. It made things much less painful.
Oh, and have you read cleolinda's recaps of Breaking Dawn? Totally brilliant.
I'm hoping it will be detailed enough for me to skip Breaking Dawn. Eclipse is proving deadly enough for me, I don't think I could handle trying to read another one.

Date: 2008-08-20 05:07 am (UTC)The part that sucks is that I downloaded them in .pdf form because I'll be damned if Stephenie Meyer is getting a single cent of my money! Which, sadly, makes it a bit harder for me to skim because I'm also not wasting the trees to print them out!
I'm hoping it will be detailed enough for me to skip Breaking Dawn.
Considering Meyer's like the Queen of Padding (I still can't believe the publishers convinced her to stretch the series out to four books over her original two), the recaps are pretty detailed, you know, considering how little actually *happens*!

Date: 2008-08-20 03:45 pm (UTC)I'm feeling this particular pain now. I bought the first one cause I didn't realize it would be horribly bad. Now I have Eclipse on CD because there was no way I was paying $20 for that shit, and now I can't skim or skip (and it's killing me). I was listening to it on the subway yesterday, and was barely able to keep myself from groaning out loud at the pain of it all.

OMG! I know. It's like when you think about what really happens in the books, it would have been written in like 100 pages. In Twilight especially, I remember thinking that people were having the same conversation (and by people I mean fucking Edward and Bella) over and over again.
I still can't believe the publishers convinced her to stretch the series out to four books over her original two
Are you serious? There was only supposed to be two of these travesties? UGH! Why couldn't we have been so lucky. Money grubbing whores!
