Nobody needed towels!!!!
Jun. 15th, 2009 11:56 pmSo, I finally saw the season premiere of True Blood and ...
Michelle Forbes is a goddess. She makes everything better, and sexier. It is really almost magical the effect she has on my body. And the eviller she is, the more delicious I find her. Maryann's smack down of Lettie Mae was like porn. And the fact that she had her hands all over Tara as much as humanly possible, just like feeling Tara up in front of her Lettie Mae to rub it in her face that she was going to like take Tara back to her house and sex her til the early morn ... unf! Papiya eating, lounging goddess Maryann using her sexy voice talking about ancient gods and human lovers, just ... excuse me while I change my panties. She's even hot while smacking down her employees. I honestly, don't care what she does, I will fucking love every moment she is on screen.
NO PAM????? *cries* Episodes always really feel incomplete to me if I don't get even a little Pam. I just love her and her Victorian School Girl Giggle, and her J Crew Outfits, and her sassy one-liners so much.

I honestly think that if Pam and Maryann are on screen together for like even ten seconds I will jizz in my pants. Seeing her in the previews for the next episodes numbs the pain somewhat. But, I'm really in some deep Pam withdrawal right now.
Lafayette's alive muthafuckers!

Yay! I was literally squealing with joy when Miss Jeanette's body was revealed. I was so scared that my baby, Layfayette had been vamp food. I mean, the man is rather downtrodden at the moment, but he's alive, bishes! Yes!
Nerd!Bill is kind of awesome. I really liked him in the scenes with Jessica in all his recycling, TruBlood cocktail hour geekiness. Bill and Sookie, are a huge yawn however. And the RL romance between Paquin and Moyer just makes any love scenes between them really, really awkward to watch.

I cannot handle it.
Terry sniffing Arlene's hair when she hugged him, was made of win. I laughed so hard at that, and despite the creep factor I found it kind of sweet.
Between Police Woman Kenya and Andy Bellefleur, that scene in the police station where they were questioning Tara was like one of the funniest things I'd seen all day.
I kind of want Nan Flannigan to bite me. Literally. When she was all, "I'll see you in 12 hours", I was like "get in me nao, Nan!" My taste in women should really, really scare me. But instead, when I think about it I just get turned on.
Eric is FUCKING SCARY! OMG!

I'm used to him being all like, "My name is Eric. I am a Sherriff and my arms are the size of tree trunks. Do you want to come behind my velvet rope?
But tonight he was all like ...

"My name is Eric. I used to be a Viking. I rip people's arms off and eat their groins while getting my hair did. There is metrosexual fucking highlight foil in my hair and I can still make you poop your pants like a small child. I will eat your babies. Sit the fuck down, and use the bucket!"
Pam! Hold me!
Seriously, I love this fucking show. Cannot wait for next week.

Oh, eww. I did not know that. I still fast-forward through the bulk of their scenes but that just puts a gross realism on everything that was unnecessary.
I kind of want Nan Flannigan to bite me. Literally. When she was all, "I'll see you in 12 hours", I was like "get in me nao, Nan!"
You're not the only one! Damn, for a chick who's character exists solely in tv interviews, she really sucks you in...no pun intended. :)

Date: 2009-06-17 03:20 am (UTC)Me too. The only thing that would've made it better would've been to see Kristen Bauer's name in the credits as well.
My only complaint is all the sex with pubecent Sam was GROSS. *shudder*
Yeah, it was really, really awkward and unerotic. But the scene was supposed to be creepy, so I guess I should congratulate everyone involved with a job well done. Honestly, I'm glad that Sam and Maryann only knew each other for like 2 hours and she weirded him out. I didn't want the Tara/Maryann storyline to actually be all about Sam (or especially Sam's epic love with Maryann). I want to Tara to be interesting enough to Maryann on her own.
even though in my head she crawls back into Maryann's bed after
In my mind too. As far as I'm concerned, they're all doing each other. But I have a soft spot in my heart for the lady love so they're the only ones I'm actually concerned about!

This! I was actually really thrilled that we got so much more Nan in this epi. than last season. Last season all her shots were so short, but at least today she got a real scene. And it was glorious. Mm. Definitely more, Nan Flannigan, please.
That Eric .gif? Genius. lol. That shot was so awesome.

Date: 2009-06-16 06:55 am (UTC)I wound up fast-forwarding through that scene. Am I *supposed* to find Bill/Sookie romantic as opposed to creepy? It'd probably help if I didn't still find Anna Paquin woefully miscast as Sookie.
What I liked about this ep was how many of last season's plot lines are being carried over into this season. Like, I honestly thought Bill killing Sookie's uncle had been dropped, so I was really happy to see it brought up. Then, of course, Sookie falls for Bill's pathetic excuse for an apology that DIDN'T ACTUALLY ADDRESS THE ISSUE!!

Lol, it really was the equivalent of someone setting off a flare every time she stepped onscreen. Everything just gets brighter and hotter when Michelle Forbes is there.
And the fact that she had her hands all over Tara as much as humanly possible...
Yeah, I was all 'oh Tara, whatever MaryAnn has in store for you can't be good! It'll be totally hot.. but soo not good!
I really liked him in the scenes with Jessica in all his recycling..
Yeah, as much as Bill/Sookie bores me to tears, I really liked his scenes with Jessica.
And I'm keeping my fingers crossed that, judging by the amount of airtime, Alan Ball realized he went a little overboard with the Jason character last year. I almost found Jason tolerable.. still stupid but at least tolerable when he *wasn't* on my screen every other minute.

Date: 2009-06-17 03:31 am (UTC)I know! Bill just looks so much older than Sookie, and acts like her father. It's just creepy on so many different levels. I also find Paquin really miscast as Sookie, I just find her completely devoid of like any charm. I never care about her. And on a completely shallow note, I don't find Moyer or Paquin attractive, at all, so sex scenes don't even offer any eye candy. It's just a big giant box of do not want.
What I liked about this ep was how many of last season's plot lines are being carried over into this season.
This. I was really happy to see the continuity too. And apropos of nothing, that scene where Sookie was given the check from Uncle Bartlet was like one of the creepiest things I've seen on this show. For like, one scene Anna Paquin actually managed some acting, and I was like squirming.
hen, of course, Sookie falls for Bill's pathetic excuse for an apology that DIDN'T ACTUALLY ADDRESS THE ISSUE!!
I didn't actually hate Bill's speech, I just hated that it was Bill and Sookie. The whole time he was speaking, I was like "This could be really romantic if another character was saying this to someone who's not Sookie." Then I started imagining Ivy Tamwood delivering the speech to Rachel and was swooning.
it really was the equivalent of someone setting off a flare every time she stepped onscreen. Everything just gets brighter and hotter when Michelle Forbes is there.
This. I'm already like 50% more excited for this show because I know I'm going to see her every week. Every single time I see her in anything, I'm just constantly reminded how awesome she is.
It'll be totally hot.. but soo not good!
This. It's awful cause I like Tara and think she's had enough pain heaped on her already, but I just want the two characters to spend as much time together as possible so that I can enjoy their twisted as fuck relationship and Michelle Forbes wicked hotness.
I really liked his scenes with Jessica.
Bill's alright when he's not around Sookie. I liked the scenes with Jessica too.
Alan Ball realized he went a little overboard with the Jason character last year. I almost found Jason tolerable.. still stupid but at least tolerable when he *wasn't* on my screen every other minute.
Totally. I was very relieved by the appropriate amount of Jason this episode. If it stays like this, I will not have to burn with hatred for the character. I actually think the actor is really good (that scene where Jason was all like, "It really made me *long pause* think!" I was dying), so I don't really want to hate on him.

Date: 2009-06-16 11:05 am (UTC)Michelle Forbes... I have no words, they do no justice. She has always been and always will be; hot like fire. Her voice, posture and the smirk: trademark. I really wonder WTH is up with her vibrating all over the place. She feeds that way? (If somebody has read teh books don't tell)
I really like Jessica's character too and hope they build that story. Bill being environmentally concious was nice to see... and then he does things like rips people's heads off for revenge. Oddly, those two aspects are not at war. I'd like to reserve the word "nerd" for those situations where it's deserved, this was not one. ;s ..hmm, except when I look at the diagram of nerdiness, I see that Bill fills all the requirements: intelligence, social ineptitude and obsession. Here. He might be just a dork though.
I don't really mind Bill and Sookie because... boobs. I might get a bit sleepy during the scenes between them, but they don't really cause a negative reaction in me in any way.
Wonder when they will introduce the lesbian vampire played by Evan Rachel Wood. Hope my memory isn't misfiring and it was season 3 or something.

Date: 2009-06-17 02:40 am (UTC)Okay, in the books Lafayette is the one found dead, but I was really happy they didn't do that. So there are a bunch of new plot pieces for the story. There is already one lesbian vampire in the show, Pam, but they havn't really hinted at it yet. But I totally think it will be adressed in one of the next episodes after Sookie gets attacked. As for Evan Rachel Wood, she has not been listed as cast member yet(at least not on imdb), but if I was to guess I think she would be playing Sookie's cousin Hadley(it's brifly mentioned in the first season that she is missing). Hadley's been turned and is dating the Queen of Louisiana. But the story line is a ways off in the books. I'm not sure if they're going to start condensing the books more into the show because the first season is basically the first book. Right now there are nine books. So there's that spiel, hopefully I didn't overload it with too much info.

Date: 2009-06-17 03:06 am (UTC)Well, they've hinted at it. Pam's totally was flirting with Sookie in that episode where Long Shadow exploded all over her, and rather delightfully when Bill was digging the grave for Jessica and Pam was mocking him, there's one funny moment where Pam looks up Jessica's dress and kind of smiles. But, I totally hope we see more explicit scenes with Pam that make her lady love totally clear.
As for Evan Rachel Wood, she has not been listed as cast member yet(at least not on imdb), but if I was to guess I think she would be playing Sookie's cousin Hadley
Evan is actually playing the Queen of Louisiana (I didn't realize the character was a lesbian though *woot* Evan was the cutest little lesbian ever on Once and Again). I think her first appearance as the Queen will be in the last episode of season 2, or like the second last, something like that. She won't be on until the very end of the season, kind of like Michelle Forbes last season.

Date: 2009-06-17 03:12 am (UTC)I totes don't care a bit. I'm just glad my baby Lafayette is alive. Any changes they have to make to keep him around are just fine by me. Of course, I haven't read the books and have no desire to actually read them so I'm not really attached to any future plotlines.
I really like Jessica's character too and hope they build that story.
She was a lot less grating this episode than she was last season. I'm really interested in the Bill and Jessica storyline right now as well. It's certainly more interesting than what's going on with Bill/Sookie. I was actually really moved when Jessica seemed so genuinely surprised that Sookie would be interested in her as a person.

Date: 2009-06-16 07:12 pm (UTC)So scarily accurate. lol I fuckin' squealed like a little girl when I saw that Lafayette was still alive. I love that mofo!
Michelle Forbes is asajtk;nalnf...yeah. I want her to feed me papayas and teach me about mythology all while lounging by the pool.
I think I'm one of the few people who actually finds Anna Paquin attractive when she's not with Bill. But I agree their relationship is snooze worthy.

Michelle words. So hot there are no words capable of describing her.

This. It's like, I don't care how evil Maryann is, I totally want her to seduce my ass. Take me to your Greek love palace!
I think I'm one of the few people who actually finds Anna Paquin attractive when she's not with Bill.
lol! I don't find Sookie as annoying when she's away from Bill, but yeah, Anna Paquin does absolutely nothing for me (unless Pam's picking vampire out of her cleavage!).

Date: 2009-06-17 11:16 am (UTC)Watched this online today
Date: 2009-06-17 07:02 am (UTC)And you're right, she was ALL OVER Tara. I didn't even need to put on the femslash goggles, she was being really overtly touchy-feely.
Eric! Those foils. HAHAHAHA. That was a great entrance. Guess his makeover session with Pam was interrupted.
Bill & Sookie are pretty meh ... I find just about all of the supporting characters 100x more interesting than them. Bill is good value though with his old school chivalry and goody-two-shoes-ness (Of course he'd be pedantic about recycling!). and the way he says "Suck-ehh!", of course ... gets me every time. I will admit, Stephen Moyer did a pretty good job of selling that "you're my miracle" line. It must be hard to pull that shit off, especially when Bill + Sookie = booooring. Sookie was kind of annoying as usual ... I found myself sympathizing with her one minute (when she was picking up her Gran's stuff) and throwing my hands up the next (most of the rest of the time). It was good to see Sam calling her out. Right on, Sam.
I'm still not sure what I think about Jessica, but I'm leaning towards like. One minute I'll think she's grating, then she'll win me over a little with a line like "Ew - old?" or "oh you're soooo not Eric."
