My guess:  Cara just heard that Legend of the Seeker is getting canceled.  That, or she accidentally started watching an episode of Cougar Town after Modern Family and can't fathom how it's possible for a show to be that bad.

My Guess:  Zedd walked in on a private moment he wasn't supposed to see.  Cara is upset because she thinks that Kahlan's not going to finish what she started, and Kahlan is considering running at Zedd and pushing him down a hill so that she can finish what she started.

P.S.  I love that even non-femslashers are ALL ABOUT CARA, and that on non-femslash communities that people are ship Kahra like whoa.

I'mma be remembering those scenes a lot. I love that they gave Cara and Dahlia a real history together, and there were real feelings there. And they were allowed to have so much physical contact together. It was great.

I'll agree that the kiss by the campfire had more emotional resonance because it was Feeling!Cara kissing Dahlia there, and you could tell that Cara felt a real emotional pull towards her. But I do think that the kissing was more hesitant because Cara knew that she was walking down a dangerous road, and was kind of grudging giving into her feelings.

The kiss at the end didn't have a big emotional punch because it was broken!Cara, but it was hot as hell. And the lick ... the lick, dear god.

It's almost really hard to compare to the two, because the motivation and emotions behind them were so different.

Mostly I suppose I was trying to get the point across that at first I was worried Tab was gonna be one of those tentative girl-girl kissing actresses, so I was happy to see her just go all freaking out in the last kiss.

Camp!Fire Cara is the one I would want to take home though, the one that makes my heart ache. Mord'Sith'd Cara is attractive from a distance, but I wouldn't want to get with a kilometer of her.

I say watch the show. I know the show is really different than the books, but if you just go in thinking of it as like an AU I think you'll enjoy it. The show is really well-executed and the actors/actresses do a great job. Just try and think of it as a stand alone piece.

Because honestly, it's really, really, really, really enjoyable. And there are just some beautiful, beautiful visuals ;)

God, this episode... I loved that Cara and Dahlia did have true feelings, that it was real between them. Laura Brent did well with Dahlia, much better than other Mord'Sith in the past.

Loved loved LOVED that Rahl wasn't man enough to break Cara without the Keeper's help. Cara looked sleepy during his torture sessions! Oh Cara, how are you so badass?

I loved that Cara and Dahlia did have true feelings, that it was real between them. Laura Brent did well with Dahlia, much better than other Mord'Sith in the past.

This. I was really hoping that it woudln't be a repeat of the Cara/Trianna relationship which was all about pwning. I really liked the history and genuine emotion. Like, they were so into each other that even Darken Rahl knew about their relationship.

Laura Brent, ah that's her name. Yeah, she did really well. Most of the Mord'Sith we've seen on screen have been really lame. Like they just looked like swimsuit models who wandered onto the wrong set. Not intimidating at all. But Brent really managed to bring some swagger to the role, and managed to convey emotion in the unique Mord'Sith way of having the feeling burning beneath the surface though they look rather unmoved.

But Cara, her tongue... I went to watch more epis after this, I needed more Cara, and even the capcha image generator loves Cara

The preview had me looking forward to some good Cara girl kissing, but this was like Christmas and New Year all rolled into one! Not only that, we also got some more Cara/Kahlan subtext (I think we might have to break out the maintext label for them soon) of the swoon variety, which is just the gay cherry on the cake.

I liked Dahlia. She wasn't, as I'd feared, just some crazy stalker mord'sith with the hots for Cara. They gave their relationship substance and the actress did a good job of showing her feelings towards Cara. It's just a pity Dahlia is of the opinion that serving Darken Rahl is the only route to a fulfilled and happy life together.

With only two episodes to go, I doubt we'll have time, but I want to see Rahl beaten bloody for what he did to Cara - Dahlia and Kahlan can take turns beating the snot out of him for hurting their girlfriend.

Richard really is a pubescent boy. I don't blame him for wanting to get it on with Kahlan but the guy's timing sucks. Fortunately, Kahlan is too busy thinking of Cara (and Zedd and the rest of mankind) to give his Tarzan/Jane plans much thought. I did like the 'I hope the baby is strong and a good fighter, like her mom, and has pretty eyes and a soft heart, like her dad' bit, for the application of gender roles if nothing else.

Cara owned the episode. She was sexy, defiant, sexy, strong, sexy, sarcastic, sexy, sneaky and did I mention sexy? I may need to re-watch a couple more times before I can talk about her coherently.

The last two episodes look interesting, but I must admit to not caring two halfpennies about the Keeper and the rift. All I want to know is if Richard employs his secret weapon against Cara's mind-control; namely Kahlan and Kahlan's cleavage and eyes... all the power infused dildos in the world aren't strong enough to fight against that.

Yeah, the casting sides really did give her a Single White Mord'Sith feel, that was off-putting. Thank god, that the writers avoided that pitfall and gave us a really nice backstory and real emotions from the two of them. I found their scene together really poignant, esp. the campfire and the scene after Dahlia convinces Rahl to go take a nap after his long, tiring day of torturing Cara.

It's important that the Mother Confessor's pure heart keep beating, so that Cara can see her heaving chest, instantly remember all of the wonderful nights feeling those beautiful dinners pressed up against her, fall in love with Kahlan all over again, kill Darken Rahl and thereby save the world.

Holy Hell in a Handbasket!!!! WERRRRRRRD to about everything that has been said already.

ITA about loving the two different kissing scenes and how Tab used them as way to delineate between her two selves, in a way. Stuff like that is what makes me love this show. When a show is filled with so many well written scenes, and, on top of it, has such good actors that even wordless scenes are just, if not more, powerful, then you know you have a quality show.

Everything about Cara screams sex, but, that fact that in her quiet moments her vulnerabilty is just as palpable makes me heart her so much. She is, mos def, one of my favorite characters evah!

Honestly this episode just blew me away. Partly because I am so jaded that I never expected the show to try and establish an emotional connection between Cara and Dahlia. I thought they were just going to throw in some gratuitous sexiness and I am so flippin happy that I was wrong. There something to be said for having low expectations..

Please, oh please, let it be Kahlan that brings Cara out of her broken state! I think it is a strong possibility since they included the Kahalan/Cara tomb scene in the 'previously on LOTS' round up. If that wasn't relevent, why not just use the scene from the previous episode when Cara begrudenly admits to loving Richard and 'caring' about Kahlan and Zedd to the wisp? Me thinks there is a method to the maddness and since I am a hopeless romantic, or shall I say hopeful, I am crossing my fingers that it pays off next week.

Gotta go and rewatch. Hopefully someone will create a compilation of the Cara scenes! They way things are going, I'm going to burn out my DVR with all the rewinding/fast forwarding.

This. It's really vulnerable Cara that makes my heart pound super fast. I don't know, I just love the idea that she could defend my honor against hoards of muggers, and then at night when she's looking at me could have tears in her eyes, and would have her voice crack when she says "I love you". Cara is just the dreamiest of the dreamies. She totally one of my favorite characters of all time as well. She's amazing, and Tab is amazing.

Me too. I thought it was going to be a gimmick like the Trianna kiss. I'm really cynical these days about shows just throwing meaningless girl/girl kisses into episodes to be "edgy" but not actually caring about the relationship or even establishing one.

So, I too was really surprised, and so pleased by how Cara/Dahlia was handled. I thought the relationship was really beautifully tragic. Cara's heartbreak at having been lied to by Dahlia was so palpable, and I really believed that Dahlia was doing what she was doing to get the woman she loved back. It kind of breaks my heart for Cara that Dahlia will never get to have to the sort of life changing experience that Cara had with the Seeker Gang, and that they'll never really be able to see eye to eye again (because Cara will be re-broken, or perhaps re-made).

I think it is a strong possibility since they included the Kahalan/Cara tomb scene in the 'previously on LOTS' round up.

Good catch. Let's hope the previously's were really hinting at something. I think it's important that Kahlan was first in the montage of people that Cara was thinking about. And that Kahlan touched Cara, establishing their unique bond together before they parted ways. Honestly, anyone in the group other than Kahlan managing to bring Cara back to the group would seem like a cop-out and would be a huge disappointment.

The manippers really made the most of out that picture of Cara and Dahlia though. There were some really nice Kahra ones made out of it.

Two things that I thought. Cara is her own woman, she's not really "loyal" to anyone, even if she thinks she is. She doesn't truly serve anybody. I wish there would've been more emotional depth in the Dahlia/Cara storyline. Now it just seems a bit gratuitous. I couldn't get into it because there wasn't enough build up. I can't really get into any of these one episode arcs.

Craig Parker is really perfect as Darken Rahl. Perfect. Getting tortured by Darken Rahl looked like a really fun afternoon pastime. I have so much admiration how he plays the role.

There better be some closure for Cara/Kahlan. But: I think it's going to get cut because of the cancellation. Q_Q

Wow, I had the opposite reaction to Cara and Dahlia. I was worried their relationship was going to be shallow and gimicky, but I thought that it was pretty well done.

Dahlia was someone Cara knew all her life, and had a strong and emotional relationship with. Dahlia wasn't just after hot GoGa or wasn't just using Cara's attraction to trick her, but seemed to really want to bring Cara back into the fold so that they could re-establish their relationship together.

Cara, pre-breaking had real feelings for Dahlia and even tried to get Dahlia to join the quest so they wouldn't have to be split up again. And before even delivering the stone to Darken Rahl, Cara's first action was to find Dahlia so that she would know that Cara hadn't actually betrayed her.

Heck, they were a well known enough couple that even Darken Rahl was aware of their relationship and knew that Dahlia was probably the one person in the world not named Richard, Kahlan or Zedd, that Cara would trust enough to follow.

This. I've been really enjoying the amount of screen time he's been getting. I kind of hated Darken Rahl for torturing Cara this week, but last week I was riveted by Parker. He actually made me excited about scene that involved Richard, lol. And he impressed the hell out of me in the "Walter" episode. It's definitely nice to see him finally getting some good material to work with this season.

There better be some closure for Cara/Kahlan. But: I think it's going to get cut because of the cancellation. Q_Q

I'm so worried about this as well. I'm hoping the writers had an end to the arc ready because there had been rumblings about the fate of the show from fairly early on in the season, but you never know.

I just really, really, really hope that Kahlan is key in Cara becoming unbroken. The writers have developed their friendship and emotional connection so much that anything else would be unbelievable and really disappointing. I'm not even talking from a subtexty point of view, from a purely platonic stand-point, Kahlan has been set up as the person that Cara is the most emotionally bonded to. So, I'm with you. I really needs some closure with those two.

I really liked Dahlia...or maybe it has something more to do with the actress. I completely agree that the show did an incredible job casting Laura Brent. For a role that could easily draw hate among viewers/fans, she brought real substance to it. And I'm totally with you when you said that there hasn't really been another badass Mord'Sith since Denna until Dahlia came along. Laura portrayed Dahlia like how Tabrett and Jessica portrayed their characters (the smile, facial expressions, voice, demeanor, etc).

I can't wait to see next week's ep where it looks like Dahlia will be confessed by Cara's very jealous girlfriend, Kahlan. I really wanna see how that scene plays out.

And also...I love how Zedd is obviously SO concerned about Cara. You can tell he didn't take Cara's re-breaking lightly at all.

Oooh, I didn't know what the next ep. was called. That gives me hope the Cara situation will be resolved by the end of it, and Kahlan better be front and center.

lol! Honestly, I don't really care about Kahlan and Richard getting to do it either. Well, only because it will allow for half-clothed Bridget Regan, and because I can then apply whatever Powerful Magic allows Richard to tap that to Cara for ficcing purposes. Kahlan's magical chastity belt makes p0rn really difficult!

Laura Brent did a really great job, and Dahlia's character was written well also. She wasn't just some bland evil female, she had feelings and motivations all her own, and we were given enough insight into her to understand why she did what she did.

This. I loved that he wasn't cruel or hard on Cara when he related what happened. He was concerned and saddened for her knowing what she had gone through. He knew that she never would have done it if it hadn't been for what she had been through. I hearted Zedd for that.

It's really shitty getting things last. Damn, it was pure torture waiting for the episode to air here. Luckily it wasn't the kind of torture Cara was receiving. But I think I exhausted myself from the wait and the sheer awesomeness of the episode to form any real coherent thought. I'll have to come back here when I think more clearly. Well I can say that this episode pretty much broke me. I tried to prevent my brain from being fried by stopping and cooling down occasionally (it took me 1,5h to watch the ep) but in the end the tongue just undid me. I love this show so much there are no words for it.

Like others have mentioned I was so glad to see they gave a backstory to Cara and Dahlia. I tried to keep my expectations low but the ep so completely surpassed anything I might've imagined. Well I can say that this episode pretty much broke me.

I feel you. I went through such a whirlwind of emotions starting with like the first scene. I mean, only this show would have a reveal like Cara having giving birth to Darken Rahl's child in the first 5 minutes!!!! And the show just continued to ripe my heart out for the rest of the episode.

I was so glad to see they gave a backstory to Cara and Dahlia. I tried to keep my expectations low but the ep so completely surpassed anything I might've imagined.

Me too! Out of self-preservation I didn't expect much. I had felt a little burned by how sucky the Trianna interaction was after Cara had so tearfully whispered her name at the end of season 1. So, I was very surprised, impressed, and grateful for how Cara/Dahlia was handled. This is like the first time I can remember where in an ep that had a same-sex relationship portrayed and a het one, that the same-sex couple actually got to show MORE physical affection/have more physical contact. And I love that it was just straight-forward, and no issue was made of Cara/Dahlia being two women.

Killed me! I loved that moment. It was so tender. And I think Cara really needed it because you could practically see how she wanted to scrub herself clean after they found out that not only had she slept with Rahl but had his child. The self-loathing in her eyes when she told Kahlan that it had been considered an honor was heartbreaking. Like she couldn't fathom how she had once felt blessed for such a thing.

And holy shit that scene transition!!!

Amazing. The buckling just undid me. I don't understand how it was so sexy, but by god it was. Especially since Kahlan looked absolutely worn out, and then cutting to Cara all looking all "Another job well done!" UNF! UNF!

Aw. They all do though. I was so happy that even Zedd seemed more sad for Cara than angry with her after she stole the stone. But even at the beginning of the episode they were all really sweet with the Cara is Darken Rahl's Baby Mommy reveal, especially Kahlan. The arm brush was really beautiful and needed because I think Cara really needed the reassurance that they didn't think less of her because you could practically see how she wanted to scrub herself clean after they found out. I finally received the first season DVD from the library, and I'm really digging this show. I can't believe I have to wait till the season finale for Cara to finally come into the show. I want her gayness now.

By the way what channel does LotS play over at Toronto there? Here in BC it only plays at midnight on Sundays (technically Monday) on Fox no less. I hope the ad campaign to save the show works. This has the potential to be as infamous as Hercules and Xena, and both those shows got 6 seasons.

The show is amazing. The second season is more epic because of Cara and the gay, but the first season is great too and the second season will feel so much better if you've seen it.

Just think of Cara as the cherry on top of an already delicious cake.
